That's the thing though. Slipknot is nothing more than a corporate entity now. Shawn and Corey are the only Real members of slipknot. Everyone else is on contract.
Every band selling music is a “corporate entity”. Slipknot has two guys at the top of the chain because you can’t run the band with 9 heads voting on every single business decision if you ever want to get stuff done.

I don’t think he does with Slipknot, and if he does nowhere near as much. He is performing at 60% here and enjoying the moment. A set with Slipknot is 100% commitment and complete different mindset IMO.

Really sets the tone of how important the roles are, that the other members play in Slipknot.
Corey is genuinely one of the GOATS his longevity, his passion, everything about him screams metal, rock and love and you can see that with every performance regardless if it's solo or any band line up he is just passion for music and entertaining. Absolutely blessed to have grown up in the Knots prime and seen them 4 times twice with the og line-up RIP Paul and Joey and still to this day when they played at their first ever Knotfest Australia it was incredibly brutal! They and him particularly age like a fine wine 🤌 had the chance to meet Jay Weinberg aswell, got photos and personal signed sticks it was incredible. This man, this music, Slipknot, Stone Sour, CMFT, just anything and everything he does is pure GOLD! Much love from Australia Corey (ps Knotfest Melbourne was INFUCKINSANE y'all better be back soon dude) 🙏❤️

Chad is an OG and knows dozens of techniques when it comes to death metal vocals.. screaming and singing as well. Corey just has one basic scream and a bit of experience through the years when it comes to singing. I will give it to both Corey and Chad for still having incredible vocals when it comes to touring. But they are two totally different artists and shouldn't be compared. Chads vocals are much heavier and more technical when it comes to metal. They both do speed metal pretty well but Corey mainly just screams. Mudvayne is much more appealing imo and has better replay value. Can't wait for their comeback album. Been waiting forever
Dude, Chad Grey should be banned from music after HELLYEAH. The Mudvayne Reunion is embarrassing. The band is on point but he cannot sing for shit and the “backup guitarist” is actually his saving grace for backing up the clean parts.
Mudvayne destroys Slipknot in terms of heaviness.

Don't know why but seeing Corey perform Slipknot songs without the mask, kinda gives me a vibe that I actually like even more than when he is singing with the mask on.
Been a while since I've seen Corey sing this one or anything from the original. I honestly understand after all the years of being the great big mouth it's hard to go back especially when the bands softened up a bit I really appreciate what they were when I was younger really helped in the young teen years. Fascinating looking at how he's doing vocals compared to years before. Whilst we all learned backwards to use crunchy cleans to emulate him and likes of him he's gone for using safe techniques of basic growling etc. probably due to age and simplicity of it, you can do it safely for a lot longer if not infinitely.
