Makes you wonder how quickly 2 teammates could get a nuke up together. It's certainly a gamble on the early game, but could work. That's what's cool about BAR is that your team did everything right to allow this. Just one player slacking and it might not have happened.
I once shot the first nuke at 9mins at Rowsetta. Imo it's not worth the investment to weaken your front that's is funneling metal into you to get the nuke up faster.
Indeed. If one player is not pulling their weight, it crumbles quickly.
I didn't get why air scouts aren't standard in this game. In Sup Com they were standard. Now I think it's because of the lower danger of insta-dying. So the air scouting will just become meta, problem solved.
I think that more than anything, this shows the importance of scouting. Just seeing what your opponents are up, just knowing about the nukes ahead of time, is the main key to keeping this strategy from working.
Air players getting an air screen up is important, but they should be scouting regularly for the rest of the team as well.
To fast tech in this map you don t need anything near the ammount of buildings you did, ressurector bots, 2 or 3, can keep your energy high together with a energy storage for a long time in this map, and you use way less metal

I played a game yesterday, where me and jdog nuke rushed each other, but I had a good air mate and he scouted his nuke, so we had anti ready, but they didn’t.
Launched rockets at the same time. Was epic
love how we've somehow managed to merge MOBA and RTS ... you've got your lane players, your support, your carry
MOBA as a genre started as a mini game in an RTS.

i dont know how much metal is in a patch of forest. but surely there are better ways to explode your commander than to destroy an entire forest like at 4:25 if youre already willing to kill a commander for just 1250 metal.
This just makes me wanna avoid this map, LOL
For team games, lane maps and maps without chokes it is~
2:40 - that's the op spot, cos it has the most metal on land - you get t2 land/air con and you can upgrade them all, spartan for example has to get t2 ship for underwater mexes & t2 con to upgrade land ones

9:54 the problem here is your conversion slider is too low, you can see the nuke keep stalling out on energy. Drag it higher and that won't be an issue.
Nukes should have a 25min hard lock. You can't LAUNCH a nuke before then but you can build and store em. Change my mind.
Might as well just remove them at that point, everyone will start building AN at 20 minutes and call it a day. Removes the threat.

Arm nukes have a smaller explosion then core nukes, but arm nukes load faster!

12:10 Armada nuke is worse than Cortex nuke, smaller AoE so less boom for the buck.
Not completely true, the Armada nuke is faster to build for the downside of smaller AOE. That's why the nuke rushes favor Armada.
Geothermal is op for nuke rush. That's why they nerf one map with geothermal with it

You're really counting on your front, I don't think it will hold versus good players fronting if their geo guy is pushing.
you can emp anti nuke to bypass them and nuke em
its quicker than most build, but Im also still a newb, but what I have read is that most people nuke rushes, fire their nuke about 13-15 min, so yours is about 2 min quicker which is prob also why their anti nuke wasn't up yet. I actually think you just forced the develpors to nerf nukes, bcs that seems too stronk xD
No nerf, people need to scout more
I don't think it needs a nerf. Doing this is really a high risk gamble. So much could have gone wrong and that would have wrecked the mid game. It's a gutsy move that looks OP when it works.

Im hitting your spot with attack in 6 mins. Without units and comm, you would be dead big time. So, yeah, not really applicable unless enemies let you.

very underwhelming nuke explosion. In FAF, the nuke is as bright as looking inte sun like it should be, something special, a Highlight, not just a bigger explosion like this, how disappointing.
