I've been watching WH40K lore channels for years, but none of them has resonated with me as much as this one has. Your tales actually conjure vivid images in my mind that I look back to long after listening.
Thank you! I mean that's really my goal for this channel. I don't really care so much about getting my opinion, or thoughts on the setting across, but I do really want to write something which can immerse people into the world. It's why I keep everything vaguely "in universe", just so that people don't get pulled out of the video (if that makes sense). Plus I mean its such a good setting, with such rich and dense lore that I can really go quite deep on some of the writing to get certain points across. But anyway, I really appreciate it!
@@Scholarslore honestly, your writing is unparalleled among lore channels. All of your videos are so immersive and filled with vivid prose that activates the senses, so you're certainly achieving your goal! At the risk of sounding overly effusive, your videos have the same vibe of a beloved grandfather reading his favorite stories to his grandchildren. Thank you very much for what you do :)
Ahhhh, the Drukkari and Commorragh. Such a friendly and heart-warming bunch of Space Elves. The city of Commoragh stands as an unwavering beacon of light, purity and knowledge. 🙃 _Just don´t mention SheWhoThirsts in the general vicinity of a Dark Eldar._
Thank you! I may or may not have been playing a bunch of Darkest Dungeon before working on this one, so my brain was almost entirely focused on "I HAVE to use these words in a script somewhere", but I'm glad it worked out!
The funniest part about Drukari is one time the Tau thought doing a little cultural exchange with the dark haunting, skull-wearing elves was a good idea
My rogue trader blasted on combat stims tearing a hole in the city above the spire of the reaving tempest: “very nice we’ll have to come back again soon”
Thank you, and yes the Drukhari are fantastic, I'd really recommend the Andy Chambers novel "Path of the Incubus", since that one takes place within Commorragh, and is a really fun introduction to the world of the Dark Eldar.
before I go to bed and fall asleep to this video I really wanted to thank you for continuing to make videos. the new voice is great and the script is still spot on. I'm always so happy when I see you've posted a new video because I know I'm getting a somewhat unorthodox bedtime story for the evening. Never stop please 🙂
Aw I'm glad they help, and thank you. I'll keep making them for the foreseeable future, I have no reason to think about stopping any time soon, so don't worry, plenty more to come!
I envy you. I got insomnia, and anything audio, story or music, just keeps my attention and brain working on. I needwhite noise, like a fan or something like, to focus on and make my brain quitefor long enough to fall to sleep.. So many nights of mised sleep entirely is how I learned that..
Eight minutes in and I'm getting flashbacks of Steven Fry attempting to describe space in Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy... I gotta watch that again. Thanks for the share.
I find the Dark eldari as somewhat special in 40k.. You could argue that Chaos gods are these selfaware ideas and as such, they are questionably evil.. But the Drukhari.. Because of their need to survive and stay out of grasp of Slanesh, they became, just like Night lords, something as close to true Evil as possible..
They're certainly a dodgy bunch. It's interesting to read novels staring them, since the authors always really lean into their truly sadistic attitudes. I did a patreon video of an excerpt about an Archon gloating over a guardswoman after he killed her husband, and it ends with him snorting at her "attempts" of grieving, since he doubts that humans even have the capacity to appreciate feelings of grief. Very dodgy people, bad eggs all around.
cant link the wikipedia for Egregore but like the highlight is "an esoteric concept representing a non-physical entity or thoughtform that arises from the collective thoughts and emotions of a distinct group of individuals."
What I like about the Drukhari is that it gives us a pretty good picture of what the average Eldar culture was like pre-fall. Craftworlders and Exodites in reality were the weirdos of the race, we just think they’re normal because they became a majority pretty quickly after everyone else died out.
Indeed I have, glad you noticed. They should slowly improve as I train it on future generations, but I'm glad that it's at the level that its at now. Thank you!
Very well explained. Drukhari, are pridefull and lacking empathy while going constantly in and out of soul-withdraw symptoms while living in a ultra-competative city ruled by kabals wich leaves them utterly evil.
Who doesn't want a living, breathing and screaming toilet! Commoragh got your back. Need a paper to write things, get the best quality paper made by baby skins. Need a necklace, you can get the popular edition, created by the eyes of all kinda sentient species, ohh they also blink while you wear the necklace. And many many more 👾
In Made in Abyss on the sixth layer of the Abyss there is the Golden City of the Scorching Sun, where it is implied that every living thing in that city was once a human that slowly changed it's form to better display it's character and/or desires. Notably there is a living toilet.
How about a documentary on the apex predators of the Imperium - the Carcaradons Astra/Space Sharks? Or the alpha of the apex predators - Tyberos the Red Wake?
@relight6931 good question. I've actually been hoping that one of those channels that come up with their own stories do one about the Minotaurs being sent out by the High Lord's to investigate the Space Sharks. Can you imagine the confrontation between Tyberos and Asterion?.
@relight6931 I actually have some head cannon about those two chapters actually being the 2nd and 11th. After all, their chapter masters are the closest of all space marines to being Primarch level. In my head at least.
Hmmm possibly, the only reason I'd be hesitant is that I know a lot of other channels have covered them recently, so I wouldn't want to bog people down in the same content. Perhaps at some point I'll do something on them though, they do have some good stories.
YES now thats a interesting subject .. Commorragh . Dark Eldar Craftworlds Eldars Rank/type/Units all the Walkers-Titans-mech armor suits all those re very iteresting
I’d love a Dark Eldar book while I assemble my small army. Two Combat Patrol boxes, a Boarding Patrol, Drazhar, an Old Enemies set, and a couple of Star Weavers since I like them better than Venoms.
As someone that has played rogue trader i can say that its a pretty shitty place but i unleashed a chaos insurance in it and slaanesh especially so im not sure how they are doing now.
If the drukhari ever managed to clone the God Emperor wouldn't it create the perfect vessel for his soul to reincarnate in? I imagine the drukhari celebrating the completion of their dark throne, only for the God Emperor to crash the party by reincarnating in this new body, destroying this most unholy construct in the process, as he unleashes his full divine psychic might.
I think the durkari are lying about them being able to get you in the ghoul stars, I think they are just taking credit for the myriad ways of you dying there that probably always looks horrific, flayed one attack? Druks: Yeah that was definitely us

I'd love to see the night lords let loose in the galdatiral pits of commorragh dark elder would not know what hit them.the night lords are fear and terror are made manifest.the da k elder are arrogant enough to assume the 8th legion are just the same as every other legion.putting them in the pit and using fear tactics agenst them would be futile not only that the nigh lords would use those tactics agenst .the elder and there argance would no doubt cost them dearly.so if I was the dark elder and I come across a night lord ship I'd give them a wide birth.
My personal theory is that commoragh was intended to have a longer name but the guy writing it down was assassinated, hence the RAGH at the end
I always thought it was more of a riff off of Sodom and Gamorrah.
@@z00mer oh yeah, definitely. But the assassination mid sentence is my head canon lol

There's a dark Eldar trilogy.
Still better than what the old reports say of an ancient Terran city called "Detroit"
The worst possible place to be in all of fiction.
