- A fun little video with some old original pics of this Badass machine 30+ years ago and some photos over the timeline of restoring it. Out for some fun in the snow with it today.
My friend has owned it for over 30 years and over the last 12+ him and I have collectively restored it to pretty original condition.

I would love to drive one of those old sleds again... I grew up in the 1960's riding these wonderful snow machines of the day...I drove the old skidoo sleds, foxtrac, ski-daddler, Polaris colt 10 hp, arctic cat panther, Rupp...these videos brought back great memories of growing up in the '60's...the older I get, the more I appreciate those days...
Great job! My dad had an earlier 10 horse Hus ski. They were known for breaking drive chains. Always needed to carry a spare chain and some repair links. The sound of the motor brings back memories for me.
That start up was priceless one pop at a time, it sounded like an old snow bllower i had back in the day,it would start the exact same way.
Your Collie loves that thing!
He will go an sit beside it in the summer; he loves it so much.
@buildwright1 🤣😂 Ours feels the same way about our UTV...
FANTASTIC!!!!
Cheers!
1963 my best friends dad had one he d call me to go for a ride could nt wait to go we grew up in rouyon noranda quebed what a time it was only these machines could go up a 4 ft thick snow hill

❤❤❤❤amazing
I really like how you added the aluminum cleats on top of the oak! Nice work
Hello, they are stainless steel and can be purchased at gogodiablo.com
I was born in Pointe-Claire, still live there, my father was a Husky dealer, 200, 444, Diablo Rouge and Sprint or Sprinter I forget ( a more conventional type ), I was 13 to 17 years old back then drove them all, really liked the 444 above all, replaced wooden traction bars by hockey stick handle, the company was a mere 7 milles from my father’s business, great memories, when Bolens FMC stopped making them another sled company moved in, again memory fails me but I think it was called NorthStar
That's some great info, do you have anything left from when he worked there?
@ my father was a dealer actually it was a hardware store, my father was pretty open minded, I don’t even think we have pictures, now I’m 72, when I turned sixteen I loved to fiddle with motorized thing à ma jig, knowing what I know now I could have modified a Diablo Rouge with the help of the company hind sight is 20/20
My dad brought home a 65 Bolens Husky model number 444. He ended up painting it red. At that time it was in Brewer Maine. Is it possibly the same machine? Could it have made it back to Canada? That would have been in the 70s.
Love it ; We had one of those , a 20 hp motor would have been something in Her .
I agree, the stock JLO is pretty gutless
your dog is crazy hahaha
it took 12 years to restore?...
Pretty much into different stages.
