    The deeper you go into PoE the more the game has to offer, it starts extremely complex for newbies but once you get to grips, it becomes alot easier. Few mentions on the bad points to help - you can incorporate a loot filter (Neversinks) that helps you choose what you want to pick up and lets the rest stay hidden from view. Also you can respec a whole passive tree by using orbs of regret - ( they refund 1 passive point per one used) i tend to do this after speedrunning acts with a starter build. Great to see you back dude❤

    • @LeyviAniki

      Neversink made the game so much better, in my experience it's the one must-have QOL to play POE happily.

    Path of Exile is much more difficult for returning players than it is for brand new players due to the inventory and specialization issues you have to deal with when returning after a while. I just re-installed yesterday after a couple years away. Most of my characters are now FUBAR and I've got 15+ inventory tabs (completely) full of items I no longer recognize or understand the value of. It's a mess.

    • @LeyviAniki
      @LeyviAniki  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Definitely get you. I think it's a really good idea to start with a new character if you took a long break from POE and just have your items and other characters on hold until you know what they are again, you could just accidently lose something very valuable. Personally the new player experience (new character) was pleasant and exciting, but my break was much longer than a few years.

    "quality of life improvements come primarily in the form of stash tabs" -> they actually come EXCLUSIVELY in the form of stash tabs. Anything else is cosmetic only
    Also, they are cheap and go on sale periodically. But it is true that if you want to engage in trading, premium tabs are pretty much a must buy

  • @TGMS77
    @TGMS77 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This video is good, but has some BIG flaws. There is no way you're taking weeks to finish campaign, even if it's your first time. Also, the skill tree is unforgiving, but only in a sense that it is hard to learn. I don't think it's fair to ever assume a new player will start going towards a totem part of the tree if they have no totem skills, or a witch running straight to strength nodes. It's hard, yes, but not as much as you made it sound
    Also, inventory management isn't overwhelming at all. You go through the initial phase of learning what is and isn't worth picking up, and the game doesn't overwhelm u with items in that stage. Only when you start getting the sense of what you should pick up does the game start throwing a lot of useful and useless items at you. Most of what you pick up will be sold right after.

    • @andreicristian9575
      @andreicristian9575 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, it's organized into nodes, so it's easy to check what you're progressing towards and plan ahead.

    • @zebedeesummers4413
      @zebedeesummers4413 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is very easy to forget how much you know about the game after playing it a while. The passive skill tree has some wild deviance in value which is very unpredictable for a noob. Also, with an item filter inventory management is easy but a blind player doesn't know what items to ignore or have an sort of filter.

    If you want to smell like cheese, see the sun twice a month, if that, and have no social life to the point your former friends actually think you died - yes, POE is worth playing.
    Other than that avoid this game like the plague. It's designed specifically to reward no-lifers, people who dedicate all their time spent awake to a video-game. It is not enjoyable as a casual and that is by design.

    • @NotYourBusiness-bp2qn
      @NotYourBusiness-bp2qn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andreicristian9575 Playing the first 50 hours of POE is barely scratching the surface of this incredibly complex game. You've finished the tutorial area basically. Now if you're fine quitting at that point and feeling satisfied, good for you. But most people won't. The game makes no secret as to how complex and deep it is and you can either accept the challenge and explore it's myriad of mechanics and upgrades at the expense of your social life and possibly sanity or you can give up and feel frustrated. I suggest the later. If you opt for the former you'll spend months, maybe years of your life completely immersed in this game and at the end all you'll have to show for is a cool sword that you crafted or some stupid shit like that. In the end it's pixels on a screen, it's not worth that much time and effort.

    its free to play but you kinda must pay in the late-middle game, you could play without it but it will be miserable without those stash tabs and premium options, if you are looking for a totally free to play ARPG and you dont want to spend any money but still have quality of life, cosmetics, and also no pay to win then play warframe. you could literally get almost everything without paying, except for some cosmetics (you can get most of them ) the main currency is tradeable, you have to play a lot in order to get the currency but at least you got an option, once you get to the middle game (and you know what you are doing) currency making isnt going to be a probleme, warframe got the best 3rd party programs among arpgs at least in my experince, with them and some guides on the internet you can catch up in no time even if first time playing. I Like diablo style gameplay more, but im not gonna be biased, warframe just better. Anyway if you dont care about progressing and trading, and you only play for fun both of them is a good option. But if you cant afford to or dont want to pay additional money for playing then warframe > poe

      but its such a waste
      and btw not everyone could afford, or dont want to afford, some can't because of their underage etc...
      so there should be a sollution like in warframe there is. I'm buying warframe currency sometimes but its not necessary unlike in poe, anyone could enjoy the game to its fullest extent without paying a single cent, I just want to support the developers, but even if someone dont pay at all they can get almost everything except for some premium cosmetics. The point is you are not forced to pay, you can get everything if you spend enough time on it.

      While it is quite fun and I enjoy the character depth available, they are right about making a new character. I didn't want to follow a guide but the experiance is terrible if you don't follow one for at least your first character. Few people want to be on their 4th character before having one cabable of beating the campaign without being mechanically gifted. Honestly for any new player I'd suggest just following a build and using a loot filter extremely early. @paulhindle5143 Hmmm, I mean both of them are really successful f2p games. Both of them have been around since basically forever and is still massively popular. I didn't play alot of PoE but when I did, I never really had the feeling to put some money into the game cuz the game was just fun like that. I think the developers really care for their players. You can see that they put a lot of work and love into their game. The lore is also pretty similar in the sense that it's very deep, mature and dark. It's been a long time since a played PoE but I only remember hearing about it flourishing and being good. Both of them are also similar in the sense that they have competition but are somehow holding their own. PoE to Diablo and Warframe to Destiny. Both games have really good customization(warframe with their mods, arcanes, helminth, a big variety of frames and weapons. PoE with their skill tree, skill and support gems and other mechanics that i prob dont know about), both games have a massive learning curve or takes a while to really understand the systems and mechanics. I believe that people also trade in PoE. They are two really different games with different playstyle, genre setting but because of the reasons above, I always somehow felt that they were cut from the same cloth.

    Thanks for the video :)
    I do think this game is absurdly overwhelming in every aspect of the game. For new players, the skill tree needs a college degree in theorycrafting to understand what's going, spend hundred of hours on YT guide / english forums + addons...
    You can't even reset your skills. Lol xD
    Path of Exile is way too hardcore, it's a game for late boomers & veterans try harders who spent 1000h+ to be efficient in this game. It's just not possible & not acceptable in 2023.

      It depends what kind of gamer you are. Maybe you've played other complex games and enjoy that, in which case this game is the best there is. I don't think it should ever cater to everyone. There are games for those kind of people, such as Diablo 3.

    Thinking about trying PoE. I just got into ARPG, made it to level 72 and as of now, farming is just getting old. I've heard loads of good things about PoE. I just don't like playing solo haha.

    Did GGG cut you a check for this tongue bathing? Notice how you conspicuously left out massive xp loss and all the other ways the game likes to set your progress back weeks at a time.
    Also you failed to mention how PoE has one of the most rude, awful and predatory communities in gaming, especially when it comes to trading. Never send new players to this abomination of a game.

      Penalty for death is in the form of some XP loss (5% of current level XP from act 6, 10% after act 10)
      It's not a big deal, really. If you lose XP faster than you gain it , then you should probably tackle easier content to become stronger
      Not sure what you mean by rudeness during trading: trading is mostly done by copypasting a message, and completing the trade with 0 interaction between players

      So you've met a few bad people and are now taking it out on the game? Community is not the devs responsibility and bad people are in most popular games. Just look at League of Legends. This game can be played solo, as opposed to the others. Also idc about XP loss, by the time I come back I always start new characters.

    I wouldnt mind if arpg dev’s just completely did away with all the story stuff. They keep trying it and it never works in any of these games. So poorly written and executed. These are not expert story tellers. These are gamers writing stories, and theyre all so dumb.
    Just get rid of it. Dump us into levels and let us work out way through them. Make it a leaner experience than listening to uninteresting characters talk about meaningless over the top corny fantasy crap. Serves no purpose. Thats why people play these games, to dungeon crawl, NOT for the terrible stories.

      Dude it's a free game that you don't have to buy anything for unless you love the game so much, that you need more space for your loot after playing for over 100 hours. The philosophy of this is amazing. Your crazy my friend

      I'm a super casual PoE player. Only tacked up 500 hours 10 years. But I very much enjoy it, and really only bought stash tabs to give GGG something to say thanks.
