Gordon in a way was the unsung hero of the film. He recommended dodgeball when they were about to tear down the gym, won this match on his own to earn them a spot in the championship, and reminded the chancellor of the by law that got them the two thirds vote.

I love the way Patches knows instinctively from the start that Gordon has greatness within him, but only if he becomes honest with himself and releases his anger
This actor almost exclusively plays characters who are submissive and meek, so a scene like this where he gets to demolish an entire team is absolutely epic.
I mean I love the scene for the sake of the character but the actor? You must only have seen him as Bill in King of the Hill because the actor has played some seriously fucking mean and aggro dickheads in the past. He was a Judge in Justified who was absolutely possessed of balls of steel.
I feel this movie still holds up today. It didn't rely on current events for jokes and instead based it on characters. They can totally pull off a sequel to this movie now brining back many of the original characters (RIP Rip Torn). I just want to hear Cotton refer to this scene as the "Gordon Pibb 5-on-1 episode of 2004".
