It's finally here! I had lots of fun doing this one, it took a lot more work than I was used to though. Lots of volume panning in the editing process was necessary. I think I really pushed iMovie and GarageBand to their limits!
Tuning: Yes, it's in Drop A. The string is really loose and any slight bend can raise the note a semi-tone or more. Also, the higher notes start sounding flat, so to match the track I tuned slightly higher than an A, so that the high C at the end of the riff is in tune. With enough distortion, the string should sound fine.
I'll be doing most of The 2nd Law in order, so Madness is next!

*Bend up a whole step the first time.
The second time, start the bend high, then slowly unbend the string.

Thanks! Ah, I forgot to put it in the description. I use a Line 6 amp as my core sound, I didn't use any other distortion pedals in this song. The wah is from the Line 6 control pedal. I added reverb in the editing process, and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Allegedly in the OoS era they published a photo which showed a 6-string with the low E replaced with a bass string. Some people also say that the live tuning for Citizen was actually AADDGBE. Anyway, I'm just saying why I think Supremacy was recorded on a 7-string. Cheers!

He may play a seven-string live, but Matt has said that he recorded Citizen Erased with a six-string tuned AADGBE, but it looks like he plays it live as AEADGBE, dropping the usual seventh string from a B to an A.
I heard this years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the exact seven-string tuning I said was wrong. All I know is that he did record CE with a six-string with a way-dropped A-string.
I can't say for sure about Supremacy. I'm just saying what Matt has done in the past (as of OoS)

ah no worries, it seemed to me there more settings used, guess I was wrong, and just to clarify, the settings pics in the description are literally what is shown, no additional amp/non-amp effects used? it's literally just the amp model and EQ controls?

Actually, I think he recorded Supremacy with a 7-string. You can hear scratches indicating that he moves his left hand away from the nut to play the intro riff (AAAA, BBBB, CCCC, DDDD) on the 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th frets. He does the exact same thing live.

I can't speak for the poster, but Matt Bellamy (at least as of the Origin of Symmytry-era) doesn't record with a drop-tuned seven string.
He drops the E string to an A on a regular six-string, dropping it a full octave-lower than the A-string.

its the fernandes sustainer, its a special type of pickup. you can google them for more info!
