I listened to your presentation during my breaks at work. I have toured the home many times and get more out of it each visit. The grandeur of Glensheen along with the connection to the history and iron mining in Northeast Minnesota.
You obviously put a lot of time and effort in your research and I commend you. Look forward to seeing your other videos

Just toured the Glensheen Mansion a few weeks ago. Interesting to hear the back story. The murder that took place there was never mentioned.

The university doesn't mention it, because they don't want to freak people out, they also don't want that to be the main topic, as Chester and Clara's story is romantic.

I’ve been there a few times. It really depends on the tour you take or the particular guide you have. They don’t ignore it but they also don’t use it as a focal point. They usually tell the guides to shy away if they’re not comfortable with it. I’ve taken a few different tours and there was one particular one that talked about the murders for about 15-20 mins

I grew up in Duluth while all this was happening, but we sure didn't know everything that was going on! Thanks for your work!

As a native Minnesotan from near the north shore, it feels nice to have some coverage on this case.

Local Duluth born and raised, yes! This was such a crazy case and it's forever embedded in local history. For those not from our area, the mansion is now owned by UMD and offers tours. It is an incredible home with a fascinating history.

The mall you were referring to must have been the old Glass Block Department Store at 128 East Superior Street in downtown Duluth. A famous store for many years

Iv toured this mansion 3 times in my life, it’s so worth it. Even without the murder history, the mansion and history itself is fascinating

The breakfast room, the Green room is my absolute favorite, although it was much prettier with the original ferns all over, but I understand they were causing issues. Boo

This video was awesome. We just toured the mansion last week! We listened to this two part series while we drove up the north shore to silver bay.

Marjorie is a sociopath. The book "Will to Murder" is amazing. It's a must ready.

I agree with Russ. There were no malls in Duluth or anywhere when Marjorie was a kid. It was surely an upscale department store in Duluth 😊

My mom babysat at the mansion, i believe it was for Elizabeth's children as well as nieces and nephews over the holidays. I still have the letter from Elizabeth thanking her.

Marjorie Caldwell served two prison terms for arson, and she's been linked to several mysterious deaths. She was accused of murdering her third husband, although those charges were dropped.
As of 2017 she was 84 and was still alive in Arizona.

I live in Minnesota I was neighbors with someone who would ride horses with Marjorie. She knew her well enough to know she was a arsonist and a murderer..She was able to lie her way out of accusations.

My husband and I were visiting Duluth, Minnesota and the Congdon mansion. We found this podcast on TH-cam and thought we’ll listen to the backstory when we were driving further north touring more of Minnesota. We were put off by the giggling and quite frankly the unnecessary profanity used in the podcast. If that shows our age and sensibilities, so be it. You asked what we thought and this is what we thought. We didn’t finish even the first part of the podcast because of it.
