LMAO, I went looking for the clip from the movie where they sing this song, I did not expect to find an entire music video. This is why I love Will Ferrell's style of comedy, he has no boundaries and no shame he just does it.
I actually think the role was WRITTEN for him, like legit. I believe I heard it in an interview that when Will co-produced this that they wrote the character for him and SOLELY WILL.
How I find out 19 years later they actually made a music video and a really good song out of that one scene?!?🤣🤣I love this movie! stupid and funny af🔥✌🏾
the scene with them singing in the office...one of my all time favourite scenes from a movie ever, love the original Starland Vocal Band version, and love the Ron Burgandy version so much. Disturbingly my 17 year old son and I sing this song together regularly, just takes one of us to start quietly singing, My husband and I also sing it loudly together in the Z4...with the top down
Anyone else get a glowing feeling watching this video, seeing the Channel 4 News Team happy and together? I wish I was in 1970s San Diego with Ron Burgundy.
"Brick i've been meaning to talk to you about that. You may want to fins some place to lay low maybe a friend or relative's house...you're probably wanted for murder..."
The first time I saw Anchorman, I had been really ill all week. It was the only thing to make me feel better. Forget modern medicine, all I needed was a bit of the Burgundy!
Shared on FB (after sharing the original from '76 (was a teen in NYC) loved this in the movie - wonder if members of the original StarLand Vocal Band are with us still and if they got a "kick" outta crazy Will Ferrell & buddies !
SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO....this was uploaded. There LITERALLY aren't that many videos as old as THIS one STILL alive and kicking amongst TH-cam's older...much, MUCH OLDER annals...🥲 My earliest memory with this movie was in October of 2004...I was at an extremely upscale and classy Rehab where for like the first entire Week, they keep you SO FUCKED UP, during "Group" time, people were literally falling out of their chairs, 1 by 1...Britney Spears stayed there too, haha. Sadly, not at the same time as I did; that'd be a Helluva story! But anyhow, they got the DVD for us to watch like a month after it dropped. As far as memories with THIS SONG, THOUGH....Most of them involve me insufflating MASSIVE lines of Cocaine over a period of an evening in which I would usually blow my nose off my face! If anyone cares...I'll have 15 years sober off of ALL DRUGS, except for a shot as the local bar every now and then...raised usually in celebration of one of my kindred's awesome happenings. But yeah, this song MASSIVELY reminds me of doing Cocaine....TONS of Cocaine at night....I'm so happy I was able to kick THAT SHIT, and opiates too....🙂🙃🙂
This is one of the greatest special features in DVD history.
Now this might sound crazy, but I pefer Will's version of Afternoon Delight than the orginal
Shattering delusions man
Ikr!
I cant say you're wrong
That's the sanest comment I've ever read.
Amen brother

I can't think of anyone else can play this role better than Will Ferrell. It's like the character was written to fit him, inch by inch.
Yes, all 8 inches.
Pretty sure it was
Well he wrote the character so..
I actually think the role was WRITTEN for him, like legit. I believe I heard it in an interview that when Will co-produced this that they wrote the character for him and SOLELY WILL.
Its an optical illusion....the pleats in the pants
How I find out 19 years later they actually made a music video and a really good song out of that one scene?!?🤣🤣I love this movie! stupid and funny af🔥✌🏾
Song already existed
This is without a doubt, the greatest song in the history of music.
That is the most epic flute solo I've ever heard!
Flute is underutilized
ITS THAT YAZZ FLUTE
This sounds great stoned. This sounds great sober. This is the greatest song of all time.
I fucking love this movie, Will's character, Will himself, the entire cast, and this version of this song! Pure awesomeness! ♥
Stay classy San Deigo
"this song is about daytime love-making...the naughty type"
HILARIOUS...i can't believe i'd never seen the music video they made for it until today
the song is freaking incredible. Even if we forget that this is pure genius comedy it is still a hell of a song.
17 years later and this video reminds me of my childhood 47 years ago…
I'm saving this song for my wedding reception. Ha ha, that ought to break my father-in-laws heart.
"she was brazillian, or chinese, or something weird"
Did you meet in the bathroom of a Kmart?
I love the garbage trashing at the beginning, a real tribute to 70s' mentality toward the environment and "keeping it clean"
the scene with them singing in the office...one of my all time favourite scenes from a movie ever, love the original Starland Vocal Band version, and love the Ron Burgandy version so much. Disturbingly my 17 year old son and I sing this song together regularly, just takes one of us to start quietly singing, My husband and I also sing it loudly together in the Z4...with the top down

Except no one got it when they were kids when it first came out, including every actor in this cast... we had no clue!

She's a ton hotter in this movie than she ever was as Kelly in Married.. With Children.
Did the edit the bit where Farrell slaps her derriere? :O Outrageous. XD

Life comes at you fast. Now she is suffering from a horrible disease.

Will has a great voice.
My buds and I are singing this at my school's talent show, and I know we're going to win!
I hope you won
The original version of this song is so damn innocent. I love it. This version is just so much classier.
One of the most moving songs I've heard!
Lol the jazz flute 🤣😂😁
Nick Offerman and Ron Burgundy together = an explosion of manliness
You mean Ron Swanson...right??
