Jim and the horses did a fine job plowing. If I remember correctly, last year’s plowing was so much harder. I love watching Skip, he's such a risk taker with so much confidence in himself. He's got such a great life!
I love to see the 3 different breeds of horses working on the plow... Ken was silent today..lol God bless you Jim and Brenda. Congratulations 97K subscribers 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi Jim and Brenda, It's really great to see the 3 different Draft Horse Breeds Percheron Ken , Belgian Bill and Suffolk Punch Baron &/or Earl represented in the 3 horse hitch on the White 3 furrow plow it works really well. Thank You for taking us along with you plowing . It's really wonderful field training for young horses like Duke and Earl and of course last growing season with Baron as well,
I love seeing how beautifully the soil rolls over as it's plowed !! That White 3 furrow plow sure does a great job. Your little dog Skippy, must sleep soundly at night with all the running he does to keep up with the horses during the day !! I take it, it doesn't bother the horses as he runs alongside them......? It's amazing how much water there is still in the field !! You must have had a very wet rainy season this year !! Have a great week, Jim and Brenda !! Still love your channel !!
When striking open a field aim for a tree or fence post or stick . That 1st furrow is most important , because all others build off of it. Modern tractors have G P S technology. But Jim doesn't need that for his small cultivations .😊😊😊
I noticed on the way home Baron was doing his little prancing thing … AFTER plowing all day. That boy’s in good shape. Doin’ his version of a happy dance, I guess.
They are awesome!! You can really tell how big of a horse Ken is compared to the others. He is in the furrow, and he is still almost as tall as Bill, and he is about 8 inches higher up than Ken. I would love to be able to see these gentle giants in person! Amazing animals.
Hi Brenda & Jim!! Another wonderful video...especially watching the beauty in motion of the three different types of horses working together so well!! Thank you for sharing 💕
Good morning Jim and Brenda so love to start my day off with one of your videos, the horses are just so beautiful and so well trained ❤field looks great to love watching them work together just fascinating to watch…….what are you going to plant in that field you just plowed ? Enjoy the rest of your day…..
I know this must seem tedious at times, but I think of times, doing construction when we were nailing off a floor,or roof sheathing, or nailing up shingles. There are lots of jobs that just require steady, slow effort. Some people just couldn't do it. I loved those times. It was nice to have a break from the faster paced stuff, and I used to love just seeing the work dissolve away under my hands. Very satisfying. And of course, you're striving for quality and speed all the while, so that keeps it interesting, too. I t hink when you get to heaven you'll find that God is very pleased and satisfied with your kind of work. I'm sure you sense that already.
Jim's plowing made me think of an old adage,.....How do you eat an elephant?.....One bite at a time. How does Jim plow his fields?.....One furrow at a time.
Those were simpler days no TV and old irons you heated up on the top of the wood stove with a coke bottle with a cork sprinkler to help to get wrinkles out of the clothes that had been hand washed in round tin tubs.
Looks like nice straight furrows to me, Jim! Watching how the plow slices through that sod is so pretty. I'd say you and the boys were worn out after plowing all day. Will this be your field corn or something else? Hey Brenda, you and Abby did a great job cleaning out the flowerbed yesterday. Loved how you used the flat rocks to design the border! I just noticed this morning my iris are now blowing, so won't be long before Abby's will be in bloom!
Thanks for the great video there Brenda. Jim I don't think that the crops that you plant in the plowed ground care if the rows are straight. Your horses are so well behaved and trained it is a pleasure to watch you work them. God bless and keep safe and I love all of your videos.
Hi Jim, your plow furrel looks 🍒 good, I would be very pleased with those results. Plow is cutting nice. The only thing I could think of doing to get better drainage and tile performance is to bed or wrap the tile with some of your sand from your sand pit, which would require to open the trench , then put in some sand, put the tile down and then put some sand on top and cover it up with the clay ladden soil. This obviously would be a lot more work but you may do a section in the worst part of one of your fields with your excavator and compare the results to the dozer, I think the clay around the tile seals it up and to get drainage though clay is very limited in spots. I agree with what you said and hope for drainage channels to form but the worst spots will have more water, but overall the tile doing a good job, in clay your limited. Hope that makes sense. With every pass the dozer trench goes away, should lay down nice after discing. Be careful moving those big boulders, the dozer brought up some dandies. Looking good, the 3 horses seem to pull that single like nothing. Smoooth. Thank you Brenda.
Brenda, we watched the plowing not relizing where you were, walking on the plowed ground and as we were thinking about where you wereyou went on the smoother ground. Good for you walking on fresh plowed groung will take it right out of that is for sure. You need a quad for filming!!!
🤔 Triple horse plowing 🫣👍 different breeds use and exchange during the day ok ,spice of life, a thought on video work Brenda seems to have to hustle to and fro , seeing this reminds me of your photo with the four horses, I think coffee break video, good job 👍
Anxious to see how well the crops do in the newly tiled ground, as you are I'm sure. I wonder how much more difficulty they would have pulling a two bottom plow as I have seen the Amish in our area using two bottom plows with a four horse hitch.
Jim, do you see breed when you look at a draft horse or do you just see a draft horse. My question how important is the breed to you? How close do breed standards do you think your horses are?
Hi Jim, as our weather patterns seem to be similar (for me other side of the Vermont border in Canada), I am sure you might have some time to answer other questions. I am planning on hitching two different sized horses. Some one told me the tallest one should always be on the left to not block the view of the right one, is this true? In my case the tallest one is the calmer, reacts better to the environnement but is also the first one to move when asked a command (for now, she has almost a year of experience vs. the other one that is at her second hitch). We are not planning to try and hitch them up as a team right away or without any professional help. Thank you! My name is Isabelle if you prefer not giving out my channel name.
Good Days Jim.. I'm concerned there's no back rests on seat on plow or like equipment for safety, if the horses ever bolted fast a person could go over backwards and injure themselves or worse. I seen many horses bolt once awhile in videos no matter how well trained they are. Ur horses ares very well trained, although it only takes one time, and or some new amateur, and after alls they are a animal with simple animal instincts mostly only. I enjoy the videos.
PG here at 8:00 minutes Skippy was in the furrow. Looked like he was showing Baron where to walk. Skippy is acting as a lead horse. Do you have to sharpen the blades of the plow each time you plow? Or does the shape of the plow from the manufacture do all the turning og the soil while plowing?
I admit it looks better aesthetically to have Ken in the middle. With Baron out on the end and Bill 8” shorter because he’s in the furrow, it all looks right.
Good morning Brenda and Jim. A question, if I may? If you are only making one drill, why are you using three horses? Is it for speed...the boys do seem to be moving pretty lively. Shucks about the underground drainage system. I hope it gets performing properly soon ...it was a big project- I recall you having to fill in the drains ...which I found unacceptable. Best of luck with the sowing season...wishing you fair weather. ☘️
Is there a particular reason for the position of each of your horses in the 3 horse hitch, or do you move their positions to give them experience in the different positions?
So impressed with Barron. He turned out to be a beautiful work horse after he was castrated. The colts are doing great also.
Love those straight lines, plowing is a talent that takes a while to master.
Three different breeds walking in sync on the way out to the field - what a sight.
Good education for Earl to learn to plow! Duke will be next I'm sure! Three different breeds and all of them are doing well.
Jim and the horses did a fine job plowing. If I remember correctly, last year’s plowing was so much harder. I love watching Skip, he's such a risk taker with so much confidence in himself. He's got such a great life!
Janet last years plowing was difficult because Jim was trying to flip and bury that corn stubble (corn stalks) .😊😊😊
My Grandfather used to say , does'n matter if the furrow is straight as long as the corn grows tall. LOL
I love to see the 3 different breeds of horses working on the plow... Ken was silent today..lol God bless you Jim and Brenda.
Congratulations 97K subscribers 🎉🎉🎉🎉
so close

The tilts turn so nicely and don't fall back. Nothing green is visible.
Each one of those horses are beautiful and different in their own way❣️
You have that plow shined and really scours very well. Good job!!
Those horses sure keep Jim in shape great video
What a photographer!
Beautiful…such straight rows…Ken is such a beauty.
good gracious...they just walked right into place .
Which horse has the gps implant to get those rows so straight?
Was going to ask what tricks or landmarks Jim uses to get the first furrow so straight. Hadn’t thought about the GPS 😂
I'm guessing the horse that walks in the farrow
When striking open a field aim for a tree or fence post or stick . That 1st furrow is most important , because all others build off of it. Modern tractors have G P S technology. But Jim doesn't need that for his small cultivations .😊😊😊

It does a nice job of ploughing, with good help from Jim and the horses
Love seeing how well they all do together!!!

Love your videos and enjoy watching. May the lord bless and protect you Jim and Brenda and working on the homestead and plowing the field
thank you for pointing out the the names of your horses that's so helpful in keeping there names right
ground looks just right for the plow and its turning over real nice
Skippy leading the way😊😊❤
😅

Love watching you and the horses plow the field.
God bless you, Jim! I've missed watching your videos.
Amazing work by Jim , his talent really shows in direct of the 3 horses & how good they listen , stay safe everyone .

SKippy’s out there living his best life running around the field 🐕🦺
Go Skippy Go .....have fun and enjoy being young every day ❤❤
Thank you Jim and Brenda. A broken clevis. Wow such power
❤❤❤❤❤
That farming was totally beautiful. You are a true artist and thank you Jim and Brenda
This video reminds me that my dad used a small hand plow hooked up to a horse called old male. The way the garden got plowed when I was four and five.
Old Molly
Those were simpler days no TV and old irons you heated up on the top of the wood stove with a coke bottle with a cork sprinkler to help to get wrinkles out of the clothes that had been hand washed in round tin tubs.
The water came from the well out back of house and the soap was homemade at home.
Kerassine glass lamps was our light in the evening.
And sears catalogue in the out house and dried corn cobs was our toilet paper.
No wonder I like to watch you guys now.

Good job nice to see horse power! Thanks for the video Jim and Brenda
Truly fascinating subject. I will never look at equipment plowing fields in the same way
Nice plowing! As long as you're not plowing next to the road where the neighbors can see it, it don't have to be perfectly straight, just straight!!
That plough does a good job.
Good morning always nice to see another video posted thank you both so much plus I'm getting familiar with horses pulling terms 😊 ❤
3 Abreast, nice straight line, 15 Inch bottom gives a little better footing for the Furo Horse.
Jim, the plow does a really nice job. I was just thinking how nice that would be to have for your own garden at home in a small yard.😊
Brilliant job
Bonsoir Jim bravo pour le labour magnifique !!! 🎉
Love the trotting sound at the end
Nice video today! Brenda I hope you caught a ride back, that's a lot of walking .

Good to see all the horses out being productive. Maybe I missed any updates on Lady and her due date.

It peeling up very nice looks really good.
Loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Brenda 🌹
Plowing looks nice 👍🏼
What straight plow furrows!!!!!
Hard work but so rewarding ❤️ God bless
Straighter furrows than most do with a tractor! Impressive
By Summers end we probably won't be able to see the Tyle Trenches. Something I have wanted to see, how it turns out under Cutavation
Anxious to see how well the crops do in the newly tiled ground, as you are I'm sure. I wonder how much more difficulty they would have pulling a two bottom plow as I have seen the Amish in our area using two bottom plows with a four horse hitch.
Great video ! Great job plowing !
Skippy believes he know where Jim is going
Good jobs and my God bless you all time
Jim, will this be a corn field this year? You should be very happy with the nice straight furrows!
I would have it looking like a figure 8😂😂.
Fantastic animals! Sounds like your plow needs a bit of grease;-)
Amazing job
Cute Equines, sorry your Clevis quit on you.
Hello, from rocky mid-coast of Maine, US....
Good product (plow) from White horse

nice to see
Impressive
great video
O.m.g , Jim get the team to turn on a sixpence, smaller than a dime😊.Linda 🇬🇧
Good Days Jim..

My dad said "you can get more corn in a crooked row than a straight row".
Nice plowing.
Jim, have you given any thoughts to a bigger plow? Maybe a 2 bottom?
PG here at 8:00 minutes Skippy was in the furrow. Looked like he was showing Baron where to walk. Skippy is acting as a lead horse. Do you have to sharpen the blades of the plow each time you plow? Or does the shape of the plow from the manufacture do all the turning og the soil while plowing?
Maybe Jim will show you the collter. That round thin disk in front of the mold board that slices the sod. 😊😊😊
I admit it looks better aesthetically to have Ken in the middle. With Baron out on the end and Bill 8” shorter because he’s in the furrow, it all looks right.

Four tired and hungry boys homeward bound after a good days work.
Too bad you can’t put Skip in the hitch with all that energy . He looks ready to be furrow dog😊
Were you approached by someone to try Suffolks or did you come by that on your own?
Jim, why do you have one reign between your index and middle finger and the other one between your thumb and index finger?
Jim did you get the saw mill fixed so you can work with it
What crop works best in the wetter soil?
Hi Jim haw often do you clean the hoves ❤❤❤
Jim how long is one row. fun to watch
But the outside horsw pullz more weight than the other 2 because there are assisting each other
Is there a particular reason for the position of each of your horses in the 3 horse hitch, or do you move their positions to give them experience in the different positions?
How many hands tall are all your horses. We have two punches and wondered if your punches were similar size.
Jim are you done logging at Paul Smith college for the year
I love KEN how old is he?
How long does it take to plow a 20 acre plot?
14 inch plow 50 hrs .16 inch plow 40hrs .😊😊😊
Clarify add rest breaks , coffee breaks , lunch breaks , and end of days . So 2 weeks would be a good guess .😊😊😊
Those tile lines will soon disappear after the harrow.
Jim, I see you have a two bottom plough but you only ever use one, why is that? Cindy from Ellicottville, NY
Cindy yes 2 bottoms but one is right handed and other left handed. So conclusion only one can be in the ground flipping that soil over .😊😊😊
Each bottom allows Jim to reverse directions without an open furrow.
Do you vary plow depths to prevent plow pan ?
May I know where do you get them? I want to buy 2
