I thought the intro was very effective, I like it.
As I settled down to watch the video I usually have a few seconds to get comfy, the new intro drew my eyes to the screen immediately.
I guess that's kinda the point, at least partly. Looked cool anyway.
I want to point out that the Sazabi's cockpit is in its head, not its chest. Otherwise, it looks cool.
Goddamn I felt the frustration coming out of the video.
Looks like you just wanted to get this shit done like this kit. This video was like an arc of a TV show, some people laughed, some cried, etc.

Perhaps give em a class on piece repair, paint repair. I have dealt with many similar paint issues. My issues were: #1: paint layer dry times
#2: type or brand of paint.
#3: finish hardness of topcoats.
If you are doing many layers of paint, and you get hurried and each layer doesnt fully cure, but it gets coated over, then dry time may change dramatically......like a month vs an hour. Dramatically. You would think that there would be like a 99% color match paint to all bandai plastics. we could then paint everything except moving edges, and it'll blend in flawlessly. 0 contrast. We can dream! P.S. Unicorn and 00 are tied under 78 as my fav.s
I Love the paint jobs! I am sickly happy at the idea that I am not the only one dealing with ......well every hurdle these builds ran into. I have repaired many parts so I get it, but many starting out may not. Noone focusses on the problems in a build. I mean heck, they edit em all out usually. Props for telling us the details. MG full armor is cool, but yeah......it has all these problems. this just means: it moves way less and sets up higher from kids.
don't be discouraged. I wish it was possible for you to monetize this channel more, but you're very entertaining, your dry personality is kinda a selling point honestly. humor is top shelf and your knowledge of the franchise gives a little something for everyone.
Eh, I'm not discouraged this channel it's about enjoying the hobby.

I just recently had the very good fortune to see the life-size Unicorn Gundam in Tokyo and have been sucked down the Gundam rabbit hole. I just placed an order for the 1/60 scale Unicorn as well as the Kosmos lighting kit and am so happy to have found your channel before it arrives and appreciate the many tips you have shared for anyone looking to paint their kit. What you have managed to create is nothing less than a jaw droppingly stunning work of art!
Kind of sad to hear not alot of fans like the Unicorn Gundam as it's one of my absolute favorites. The full armor ver ka was my first kit, the PG final version was my second, and the MGEX was my third. I like the Unicorn Gundam so much I bought the damn thing three times and all three times I loved building it. It's what got me back into Gunpla. Next goal is to get all the ver ka kits (the ones that are available, still waiting on my local store or Newtype to have sinanju and sinanju stein in stock), as well as a complete 00 collection with as much SEED kits as I can get. Have Deep Striker coming in from Canada. God I love this hobby.

I've had this kit waiting to be built for a long time now and seeing your awesome paint job inspires me to step up the game. I found it funny how casually Banagher just stood there while the Unicorn had both beam sabers active. Anyway an awesome video as always.

Loving the new intro. Your gunpla channel really is one of the best. Great presentation of the model kit and fantastic background diorama. It's always a treat to watch your video, whether its a gunpla review, showing off your tools, display diorama, or in-process work.

Gotta say, despite it’s saturation in the market, the Unicorn Gundam is one of my all time favorite designs in gundam. It has a great silhouette in both modes and the visual design hits the sweet spot between being too simple and too complex.
In the unicorn mode it has a great bulky almost GM like feel to it. With more of a knights vision slit then the typical GM screen. And the signature horn just brings the whole thing together. I think the horn doesn’t work as well especially in the Phenex because it’s too complex. One of the most visually appealing head sculps in the series imo. While the white might be monotone to some, and I tend to agree without some shading work, once some good panel lining is in place,
Athena decal or two, it looks amazing. In a word I could maybe describe it as “clean”. With all the blocky shapes everywhere the white actually serves to highlight them instead of obscuring them behind noisy colors. (Unicorn mode may actually be my favorite of the two modes even though destroy has most of the gimmicks.
And the Destroy mode has most of the aforementioned advantages, but with a fluorescent red which contrasts greatly against the suits white. I think it does draw somewhat away from the sculpting, but the “bright” nature of the red meshes better with the white than other colors and still serves to highlight instead of completely obscure. Also the transformation from a big blocky tank of a mech, to a sleeker and sharper shiloette is a great contrast.
The MG Unicorn was my first kit. Sad to hear the PG suffers from a lot of the same issues. Luckily the RG is awesome.

Since you pointed out lighting things like shields and beam sabers, a note is that the PG Zeta is still the only kit that comes with a lighted beam saber standard.

The Exia PG lighting mode is a fantastic kit. The LEDs are much easier than the Unicorn kit. Don't paint the inner frame, the hip joints are tight as it is and prone to snapping. The arm joints are nearly perfect, I put the GN Sword in the right arm and it's been in place for over a year with no drooping. You'll love the kit.
I painted my inner frame and only got unlucky with the joint inside the GN sword. It still looks good on the shelf, but I can’t get it to sit flush since I painted it. Otherwise amazing, amazing kit.

Imo the third party lighting better... Had remote... Sound effects for the different lighting and about 6 different lighting options. If do right you can tuck those wires in shoulder joints away.

I just built/painted the mg unicorn perfectibility as my first unicorn recently and the pain is real
don´t forget about the banshee, the extra parts for that (P bandai obviously) and the P bandai Phenex unicorn :P. I´m about to start painting the PG exia, that´s a true masterpiece
You're really hard on yourself sometimes, Gunpla. Despite the minor mistakes, your Unicorn turned out beautiful. One of the nicest painted Unicorns I've seen. Give yourself some credit man, you did a great job on this.
absolutely lovely work man, I've tried so many times to like the unicorn series but, it is what it is. At least it gave us the Sinanju. Also i do preferthe unicorn mode over the destroy mode. The Unicorn Gundam just doesn't appeal to me, and I'm also a bit tired of the astray being redone 20 times. commenting so youtube sees interaction lol

You'll definitely have to keep the painting on the inside in mind when you get to the Master Grade Zeta Gundam since it does have its wave rider form. If you thought the PG Unicorn was flimsy HOOO BOI! Good luck man!

This is the review I needed. I want to paint this but I am sure I will end up with scratched parts and possibly other damage. Will probably just panel line, maybe detail some parts, top coat and enjoy looking at it. Thanks for the review and Happy New Year 👍

Can confirm the Exia is wonderful, though don't be afraid to use some paint/glue to stiffen up the shoulder joint. Once you get that done, it poses better then the PG Strike. Blows this PG Unicorn out of the water.

I recently got myself the PG Unicorn, PG Banshee and double shield set from Samueldecal. The plan is to make a PG Unicorn Perfectability.

Tip to Everyone who deals with lose joints. spray a coat of clear on old joints, dry, reassemble joint piece..... unless the joint is hidden inside a glued shaved seamline, then expect to repaint atleast that seamline part.

The funny thing about destroy mode and the stand, you have to spread the legs when he's standing as far out as you can until it sits into it.
It doesn't matter how many models I see of the Unicorn, it will always be one of my favorite Gundams if not my favorite gundam. Not just for what it represents in the franchise and the UC timeline, but the classic blocky UC look and the nearly all white prototype look, that gives it a sense of hidden potential, as well as mystery when in Unicorn mode. Then you have the intricate transformation into a mobile suit that catches anyone's attention with the Psychoframe and striking Silhouette.
I can see why some may not like the design as much. Beyond it just being pushed out by Bandai way too much, it can be a bit too much of a flashy design, heck my second favorite Gundam will always be the MK II for its simplistic yet iconic design that feels like a fully realised version of the RX 78 2, but the Unicorn will always just barely best it out for my number one spot.
With that said from what I've seen of this kit, it does look a bit too much for me, and I'll stick with my RG Unicorn, even if it's not that easy to paint or get lighting into

Personally, I find the Remaster-style retooled outer armor parts are a fair trade for dropping the Grand Slam.

The legs on your PG Unicorn aren't fully plugged in btw. I had the same issue initially. Its likely that paint screwed you over a bit. Even w/o paint you need to put a lot of force on it to get it fully snapped in. And there is a snap. Now the legs are still too heavy to be kicked out fully to the front without bending the knee but they won't go popping out for you. I've built 3 of these suckers now. I love em. But the hips and arms are problematic unless fully pegged in.
If you plan on doing that though consider removing the paint off the hip joint as it may actually break with too many layers.

Put a slight bend in the knees and feet more outward. That usually fixes the MJ sydrome in most kits
