Oh absolutely. I remember when I was young (I'm a millennial and I'm talking prior to TH-cam,) my mom would get me makeup books from the library. I remember reading Kevyn Aucoin's books several times, and it was like this video. Makeup used like a fine wine... not a beer keg. Then TH-cam came along, and now all the "influencers" do is drag makeup, which is amazing!) but no traditional glamour makeup tutorials. It's the difference between a makeup artist and a cake-up artist. Just caking on layers of makeup, like you said!

The eye shadow placement was life altering with the dark at the bottom. It made your eyes pop by celebrating their shape rather than trying to alter it. Brilliant
Love the make up, very simple yet effective. And I love that R29 uses a camera and a lighting that doesn't smooth the hell out of the skin. That's much more realistic, and still really pretty !
The way he did your makeup somehow makes it seem like he didn't apply any concealer or foundation, rather he airbrushed everything and added a glow to your face

This was a good video. I like Meghan's look and I am a brunette also with the same shape eyes and similar skin color. I don't know why however there was no foundation or any primer at all on the eyes before the shadow and liner? If I did that, no primer or foundation on my eyes, my liner would run and smear later. I also need tiny bit of liner in my lower water line as it softens my eyes a bit more.
His eye tutorial is amazing and easy to do but the finishes on the skin - maybe it's the foundation just exposes a lot of the pores. BUT I LOVE LOVE THE EYES, i feel like lazy girls like me can just do the eye, pop on a lipstick and call it a day ahahha
The only reason i would hate being a royal is because i couldn't ever wear any crazy makeup or eyeshawdow no strong cuntour or bold red eye boooooring ugh my heart.
