Used to hard surface parts for the railroad company and used Stoody wire. I also worked in a scrap yard back in the 80s, and we would use 11018 rods to buildup the spiders on the shaft of a hammermill. Technology has improved a lot since then. It's cool to see just how tough the material is once you apply it.

Great video! Would love to watch one on build up and hard face on the shear.
It's almost due for it
What type of the hardfacing flux cored welding wire are you using ?
Respirator my guy, the smoke from those hard facing rods are crazy toxic.
Benchmark wheels are a good value.
Would you recommend the dirt rod or the steel rod for demo company’s that deal with everything from concrete to rebar to dirt
Id run the ranite D
What’s the hard facing rod you use for dirt buckets
Ranite M
What kind of head cover do you use on your welding helmet to keep the sunlight out? I need that. I think we have the same hood.
It's a black stallion
What wire did you use?
I used ER70-S2 to build up, then ranite D for the hardface
Ranite D is another wire code
same gas?
