Steve maybe I can offer some insight on guys that go looking for fights. I would wager that it's tied to a self-esteem issue and that confrontations provide a big hit of neurochemicals by triggering fight or flight. Anger then in turn causes a person to feel more justified in their behavior and the brain kinda unplugs from higher reasoning centers. Humans didn't evolve to deal with social threats so the brain and body respond to them as actual threat. So the more riled up they get, the less they are able to act like a person. Basically, I believe they feel bad about themselves and go out and victimize other men to feel better. I would wager for most of them though, it's related to some kind of trauma or abuse that they have similarly suffered. Behavior is learned, it's tied up in some cool shit called hegemonic masculinity. None of it's an excuse to be a dick, but may offer some insight.

Ur a super great comedian tbh and I really don't like comedians usually, they usually don't make me laugh but I find myself smirking @ your entire set cause ur so genuine and normal & seeing u not knowing wtf was going on was making me laugh idk why
Thank you for speaking up about this Steve 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’m really enjoying your afterburn series and especially where you talk about your comedy tips and tricks. Please keep doing these. Thanks
Life lessons According to Steve.....lol. This might be one of my favorite After burns....no truer words have been spoken!
I have a family member whos in law inforcement and i feel so intimidated by me doing the slightest thing that might offend them. And i believe as a society we are trained to over compensate as to how we kowtow to law enforcement officials to our own detriment. Only to have law officials turn into privileged bullies at the slightest grievance.
I love that you laughed at your own triggered pun. Ive watched you for months now and idk why I took this long but I've finally subbed an Im buying tickets to your milwaukee show
I like these After Burns, it's like going back in time with Steve... but whenever I try to turn back time on my own I always end up with emit.
More of this. More of people like Steven Hofstetter.
Looks like OFFICER DEWITT can't take a joke
Being drunk doesn't make you a asshole it just makes you think that its ok to be one
Its funny (no not funny, sad) how relevant this clip and the things steve is talking. Anyway good luck to everyone in 2020
Steve, I saw a clip of this story a while back. For those of you that don't know the entire story, the older couple that got up and left, he was a 40 year police veteran and was embarrassed and disgusted. I don't blame him.
Love these explanations. And your line of thinking.
I love after burn, I'm so happy to see another one
Hey buddy long time no talk. i love this new blog style breakdown thing you have going. great idea and great content. again thanks for agreeing to be interviewed with the show last year. unfortunately the host was let go the day after you agreed. funny stuff and i like how you are breaking down comedy in this way i think you will influence many young comics this way
A hit dog will holler. I suppose he's one of the murderer ones.
I legit did not know you could block a channel. Not that I would block yours, I love your work. Just didn't know. Learn something every day.
Even if his "Brothers in Blue" did get called to the club for fighting, I doubt anything more then a slap on the wrist would be the result. They always look out for their own.
thats typical of gang members
That's one of the biggest problems.
Mohegan is owned by the Tribal Nations, in this situation at this venue he would've been arrested by Tribal Police, not State Police or local police (Uncasville). Would've made for an extra long night.
Woah, Steve burned him so hard that the camera spontaneously combusted right at the end
Great comedy, keep these hecklers in check. There’s pricks in all walks of life.
I love it that i is probably the only person that show u a screen cap and show you how to block his own channel while others just keep asking you to subcribe xD.
I can't imagine you being offened by anything! I love your channel! You rock!!😀
I always love the way you handle stuff. People should not talk in between shows. It's disturbing everyone else and today people don't have much time for relaxation.
This sentence was incomplete.
- "So if you're a cop and you're offended by that joke, you're a shitty cop."
Allow me to fix it.
- "So if you're a cop and you're offended by that joke, you're a shitty cop and you know it."
Steve, You Rock! ty for making me laugh so hard ... much needed in these covid times.
Steve, your skill at snap responses is BadAss!! I usually walk away from a situation saying "Shit, I should have said that"...Love watching the Burns.
This aged well. Not being sarcastic, shit's still a huge problem and no one wants to admit it.
2:43 "the ablele to live life without shame" lmao
this clip needs to resurface lmfao. how relevant is this nowadays.
amazing dude. amazing i love steve lol
I found your channel a few days ago and I absolutely love your stuff man! Honestly as much as hecklers are annoying, we all love to gang up and laugh at someone shitting over someone we like and they seem like actors at this point(I know they aren’t), they're such a big part of it 😂
I hope you come to the UK sometime! 😄
The way that you address the hecklers is very tame. I wouldn’t be so nice, like you said people pay to see you and other people think they have the right to disturb everyone else. Keep up the good work I appreciate you thank you very much
Do you do all your own editing? I've been watching you for about a year and the editing is getting better. Nice.
Yup. I'm learning as I go. Thanks!
Great to see After Burn back!
your right on point, and funny too,
I wish all of your videos had millions of views.
I always say that I’m open to liking individuals but I hate humanity.
“What ever is going on in the back needs to stop” this is so close to a Teacher comment.
Imagine if he acted like this on the street without all those people around. Real comedy is hard to come by these days it seems.
Shoutout to our good police officers who we need more than ever in 2020.
Not while trump is around
If you can't predict your behavior when you drink you have no business drinking. Which is why I am sober for 27 years lol. And no I cannot be a comedian because my days of thinking on my feet and ad-libbing are long gone by. Thanks for what you do, love these clips.
Welcome back Steve. It's good to feel some shame cause, as you said, you become a good person and not hurt people. I wouldn't want to suffer the same problems as these bad people, I think you do the same
The bit about blocking his channel just got me to subscribe lol
3:55 - when you start talking about wanting your fans to have a good night - your facial expression totally changed.
"Hey, like it came up at my workplace" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That TSA bit is one of my all time favorite comedy bits.
when you think about it...who is going to be so proud to be a TSA to the point they'll beat you up? most of them look super depressed...but idk I'm not a TSA

Love ya Steve, your so honest and you don't care to those people who don't matter to you and you use strategy to evaluate the situation and still make them funny in the end no matter what's thrown at you, I've never even met you but yet I respect you so much of who you are and your not afraid to show it, keep doing what you do. I don't know if you're ever going to read this but if you are. thanks
btw, "redophile" is not yet a subreddit... and that is quite perfect name for a subreddit.
Hah - mine is r/SteveHofstetter - not big enough yet for two!
Steve, you are such a fantastic role model for aspiring comedians. Thanks for all you do.
how am i only finding this now ...tops id love 2 see your show
Brad Williams thanked his dad for giving him comebacks after his size is mocked. Now he's freaking hilarious.
New fan... keep making us laugh, keep being you. Thank you
Really enjoy your stuff. Get a good laugh out of it every time. But one question: Every video you put up centers around out of control hecklers. Do you ever have performances where this doesn't happen? Seen a lot of comedy shows and never seen this happen, but it appears to take place at every venue you attend. Coincidence? Are people drawn to this? Truly am curious!
I hate those type of people. Let's talk about respect, but be disrespectful to everyone else. Respect is earned not given. Keep up the good work. You did a great job handling it.
The cop was clearly a total scumbag. Awesome burn.
I love the way you handle hecklers (or hacklers LOL), they deserve it! Been watching for awhile but just became a sub... Yeah, I probably deserve a roast for that LOL ❤️
Your shows are Awesome👍, Keep on keeping on.
they don't see enough drama at work, so they have to create their own
