Nobody is claiming he's the absolute best WoWS player to ever exist. Even the best players in WoWS history won't have 'amazing' games against good players, Hence why they're good players. If they weren't good players, they wouldn't have 'amazing' things happen to them. They'd be smart enough to take precautionary action against, say, 3 battleships going down the middle or a low health Leander getting 2 OP cruisers at perfect broadside

Also take into consideration: by the time the Z-52 would cap A, the Salem would be at C -and negate any points coming in from there. Even if the Shima had capped it...
he could have just capped and played safe WHILE also torping the salem. this would make sure he wins AND give him a good chance of doing more dmg.

@@cobrazax If there were 10mins left, that might have worked. But not with less than 2 minutes... The Z-52 had to fully cap A first, he'd never make it to B in time! And even if he did -what does it matter when the enemy team has accumulated a ~40 points lead?
It came down to: either the Salem dies RIGHT NOW or lose the match.
And how is the Shima supposed to ever "play safe" against a radar cruiser? :D The Shima has only one chance - element of surprise.

Jingles you forgot to mention that the Salem had the radio location skill and he constantly knew in which direction the Z-52 was.
Sometimes replays are like sailing, if it’s all smooth and sunny you’re having a great time but not a lot to talk about; whereas if there’s a pirate speedboat trying to get on your ship to evade an entire naval task force in the middle of two merging cyclones, it’s hell - but also one hell of a story

I also sometimes do it with deepwater torps in the hope the other DD doesn't realise it and evacuates the smoke. However it doesn't work that well anymore after WG removed the Warning sound for the DW torps. When these torps were new, it worked pretty well.
And in this case, why shouldn't he try it? There were only 2 Ships left and both were DDs. so it's no difference if they are on cooldown or not.

Shimakaze captain needs to be fully complemented for carrying the team and possibly a superb understanding of end game tactics.
If the Shimakaze flips C and the Salem flips B, the Salem still has a 2 cap lead.
Now let's check the clock. The Shimakaze had enough of a lead capping that it would likely have picked up 9, possibly 12, points. That still leaves them behind by at least 9 points. Then they start falling behind on points again until Hurricane gets to the A with about 95s left in the match. Take 60s to flip and now they only have 35s to reclaim the 9 points plus the 55s which the Salem would have 2 caps to their 1. As 55s of extra points beats 35s of extra points, swapping caps and running was a guaranteed lose for Hurricane's team.
The point is that once the Salem capped B, the only way for Hurricane's team to win was by killing the Salem. I'm not the Shimakaze captain. It is possible he was a derp and left the cap (cough "stupid"), wanted to try to be the hero of the match (which he was) (cough "reckless") or just saw red and the opportunity to attack (cough "oblivious"). It is also possible he was smart enough to do some quick math and recognize that the Salem had to be killed ("smarter than the rest of his team"). True, it would still have been best to finish capping first in case the Salem didn't finish capping B. However, the Salem does finish the flip and does have to be killed.
The BEST thing for Hurricane to have done was to watch the Salem. When he saw it was going behind the island, he should have lobbed some shots at it to attempt a cap reset. The Salem was unlikely to have guns pointed near his direction to get any shots off before having an island in the way. To be fair, I don't expect the average player in WoWs to figure that out under pressure, especially when all of Hurricane's team EXCEPT the Shimakaze demonstrated the were clearly incapable of simple cap math.
The only thing stupid in the second video is the poor choice of when to use radar by the Salem. This is a WG product and plenty of people fail their way to top tier.
Hurricane was on his way to cap A though. With 4 minutes left wouldn't that be enough to win?
@@davidmoore1253 , no. There was not enough time on the clock. If there had been 5 or more minutes, there would have been enough time. Hurricane never makes it to A cap and the match ends with 1:41 left on the clock. That means he likely would not have started the flip until roughly 1:35 left on the clock (+/-2s). It would have taken 60s to flip leaving just 35s left on the clock. The time between when the Salem finishes capping B is 2:31 on the clock. The time between when the Salem finishes capping and when Hurricane would have started flipping is 55s (+/- 2s). That means the Salem would have had at least 20 more points than Hurricane's team when the timer ran out. For the flipping cap strategy to have worked, Hurricane would have needed to get to A cap with at least 20s sooner. Had he been in a fast Russia DD, that would have been possible. He wasn't. As Hurricane did not risk resetting B cap with his guns, the Shimakaze was forced to man up and to his credit, he did.
von Rosphe, does a good job of explaining WHY the Shimakaze may have left C cap early. von Rosphe explains that it would have been tactically bad for the Shimakaze to face a radar boat in open water. Basically if the Salem used radar correctly the Shimakaze would have been caught on low health with nowhere to hide. Leaving early, the was an island that could be used for cover from the Salem's guns to get close enough to ensure his torps didn't miss. That is the option the Shimakaze took. It was 100% the correct decision.

Well, Jingles, I think you overlooked that the red team had already more points when the Shima left the cap C, and long before the Z52 could flip cap A. It would have been on knives edge playing safe and for points. So I don't think it was stupid the Shima attacked the cruiser. It was risky, but not stupid. Playing for points also would have been risky.
I believe the Shima may have thought we don't have time to cap 2 caps and stop the Salem, he's already up on points, we kill him or we lose, they only had 4mins left, the Salem would have capped B then run to C and at worst stopped the counter and won. Just me but I doubt a run and hide would have worked. Shima saved the day, good call Shima :)
Looking back the Shima left C at 27:23 time index on video, points are 663 v 688, the Salem would have been likely to get to C as or before Shima capped it, even if it was later all that time he is getting points on B and they are getting none until they cap, Salem would have won it on points alone. It was a kill or lose situation. As Jingles might say, "Shima put his big boy pants on", and went for it :) Shima saves the day, good video :)

25:30 It makes perfect sense. The Salem popped his radar as soon as he was spotted. Because he knew that z-52 was not in his smoke because he was the only one spotting him. Unfortunately for the Salem he was just outside of radar range as well

The wonderful world of the minimap, where the last known position and, shortly spotted and unspotted, securing it’s location, which is on the other side of the map, is the Yueyang. The last known position of the *Fletcher* is in the cap, which is captured, meaning that he may be in the smoke screen, which has an extremely large chance of being *laid by the Fletcher*. Continue, please.

It's also not really any surprise at all for a Yueyang to lose a gun battle with a Shimakaze. After the Yueyang got its gun reload nerfed into the ground and IJN DDs got their HE alpha significantly buffed, they have nearly the same HE DPM. 135k for Yueyang, 134.8k for Shimakaze.
The Yueyang after the nerf is straight-up terrible for randoms (the Chung Mu at Tier 9 is pretty much across the board better than Yueyang now!), with its only actual value being as a radar DD in clan battles.

Thanks for posting this video with the Henri. As a newer player and viewer of your videos that has chosen to play French cruisers it was exciting to see a match like that. I've only made it to Tier 8 but my games now are all about long distance kiting and losing in the end. BZ!
Thing about cruisers you cant do a lot if you have retarded BBs and it helps noone. He did have a target rich enviroment beacuse those BBs didnt back the fuck off so he was able to shoot and keep up the guns singing. Once they all died off enemy BBs lost their heals and were lover on HP beacuse of that constant HE spam he could do beacuse his BBs and carrier later on. Tho he did get lucky with that Yammato miss if that was a hit he would have died maybe not then but he wouldnt be able to go on and do what he did.I hate the map border camping BBs but sometimes they have to stay back atleast for first few mins of the game and then go in. But he still did a good game and wp to him.If you play cruisers regardless of nation but it has range not like british ones you should be aggresive earlly beacuse of DDs to support them then you should back off once enemy BBs come closer.This is the tactic I use and it can work but it is quite dangerous as you will probablly be spoted and targeted by multiple enemy ships

Classic Jingles moments in the Roma vs North Carolina/Fletcher fight.
Roma can't have eaten torpedoes--the indicators of spotted torpedoes are visible even through islands. Additionally, if you watch the minimap after Roma gets chunked by North Carolina, you can clearly see that it was indeed Roma who instigated the ram. He starts the fight showing his angled port bows to North Carolina, then turns in--his guns were probably all pointing to starboard. He eats chunk damage on the starboard side, then turns back in for the ram.
So Jingles had us watching the first half of the video, about an entire team of players beating on a Weiner...

Fantastic video! Great play in that first video - but it sure hurts being on the receiving of a long distance Henri IV they are so fast and hard to hit... even when you do in my JB seems to have little effect.
17:40 He was only unspotted for a few seconds. It takes 6 seconds for the radar info to be sent to the rest of the team. By the time it got to the Khaba, Hurricane would have been spotted again anyway.

well, as far as I know capping C would have done the Shima more good than all the damage there was left to do on the Salem, so it really was kind of pointless. also he could have done both, Flip Charlie and then torp the Salem. That would have been a smart move.
Unfortunately, a lot of people in games seem to have a difficult time weighing the pros and cons of multiple plans at once and/or take several minutes to execute those plans. Just my experience at least.

Exactly that with the forgot is why I sometimes Drop Deepwater torps into DD smokes. Not to hit them more in the hope they forgot about the deepwater torps and leave the smoke because of this.

Today in my Richelieu just out to do D-day mission and saw a full health Bismarck come round the corner. I thought ramming speed as I already had over 100k. Only to glance at the team lists and see we where 2 on 2 and would leave a low health cruiser on our side and a North Carolina on theirs. Managed to miss the ram which he wanted and the cruiser and I destroyed him and then hunted down the NC and I got my ram :)

The YeuYang has fired torps into the shima's smoke, but they don't appear to have hit anything? What would they hit Jingles? there was a Shima in that smoke and YeuYang has deep water torps that can't hit a shima.. lol
The Shima winning that gunfight against that YueYang becomes a lot less impressive when you think about that.

There wasn't enough time left for the points to tick up even with two caps. He had to sacrifice himself to fire off those torpedoes. That last game was 10/10.

That Salem didn't use the radar because he was equipped with hydro + RPF skill. Of course he knew exactly where to look for the Z52. Getting torped while packing hydro just adds another facepalm.

Ok, the only possible reason I could think of for the Shimas action is he has the mod that tells how long you would need to win by cap and he thought they didn't have enough time especially since they didn't control any caps. I have that mod and was spectating the match after being sunk and I had a similar mix up. There was something like 3min left in the game and it would have taken is longer to win by cap with the two we had than there was time left in the match. Then the game ended and I saw it was a victory. First, I realized I'm an idiot. Second, I remembered that timer tells you when you'll get to 1000 points and not when you'll have more points than the opposing team... Which we obviously did when time ran out. Third, I realized how dumb I must have seemed asking our DD why the hell he wasn't capping the last cap.
Roma was giving broadside to the yamato that came around the far east island. I'll guess there was a nasty dose of "surprise broadside" from that guy.

Wow 4800 health and 57 second torpedo reload. Someone has Adrenaline Rush. Imagine if he had the legendary module on that thing. With the Z-52 legendary module you can get 58 second torpedoes baseline. With Adrenaline Rush, you're looking at like 45 second torpedoes at low health or something like that. Of course, the downside is that you get a 6.4km detection range. It's hard to get used to it, but once you do it's torpedo soup every minute or less.
