However, her soon-to-be husband continuously blocks her and doesn't include her, making her anxious anytime she comes up because it reminds her about the division between them and how he's drifting away from her.
Maybe he lent it and never got it back? Like with his snow shovel Lorelei took possession of. Or thought he'd not use it and didn't want to store it and gave it away? Hell, maybe he didn't like the memories and gave it away to get the reminders away. All seem plausible with Lukes character. To me at least.

Actually, I threw it in the lake after the divorce. 😂😂 maybe anything that reminded Luke of Nicole made it into the lake, including the cruise luggage.
You know, Luke was not going to go out of his way to do something to prioritize April until Lorelai gave him a nudge, a nudge that he did not in any way compel her to give. As bad as how Lorelai found out about who April was, was, they had gotten past that. Lorelai was encouraging Luke to spend time with his daughter. She was helping Luke throw a slumber party for April and her schoolmates, and she was happy to do it. Things didn't go south until Lorelai met Anna, heard Anna question the legitimacy of their relationship and use that as a reason why she didn't want Lorelai spending any time around her daughter, not talking with Luke at all about the fact that she'd had this discussion and trying to open a three-way channel of communication to get to the bottom of everything, and then goes into hiding on Luke until she drops the ultimatum bomb on his head mostly out of nowhere. So many of their problems at this stage of their relationship are a byproduct of Lorelai doing what she often does - seeing the conflict coming, and running away from it instead of addressing it.
Yes this bothered me so much because as many issues as I had with Anna (who doesn't tell a guy that she's pregnant with his baby???) she basically had the exact same rule for April that Lorelei had for Rory. Lorelei didn't introduce guys to Rory. Max was the first guy she dated who had any involvement in Rory's life so Anna not wanting Lorelei to interact with April until after her and luke were married is totally understandable but she just let things fester and fester and she stewed for months and let the resentment build until it exploded into this ultimatum which of course Luke was totally blindsided by. And she took his refusal to just elope as him not wanting to be with her. She had such terrible communication skills
I really, really appreciate that Lorelai is afraid of spiders but doesn’t want to hurt them. If I hadn’t loved her earlier…
