This amana oven is pretty cheap, in price and quality. It has a few things that I really don't like. First, the 'low' setting on the stove top is quite high, to the point where it burns my food or makes something too hot too fast so you always have to keep an eye on it, which I do not like because it's harder to use it and i'm spending more money on gas, and always have to keep an eye on it. The oven itself is weird, multiple people including myself say that when you turn it on there is an odd/weird smell, not sure what it is. It smells like some sort of chemical, the gas company said it wasn't a leak but even the guy who checked it agreed that it smelt weird.

Their is a adjustment if you take off the knobs you can adjust it so it will allow less gas.

If you read your instruction book it tells you that two of the burners are "super burners' which give off more gas than the other two burners. The configuration of which is super and which is regular is in the instructions. The over comes with extra nozzles so you can replace super burners with low burning nozzles and visa versa. The odor also explained in the book tells you in the beginning you will experience an odor which is normal .Probably chemical coatings on certain parts must be burned off first. Even hot plates have an odor in the beginning.

pull the knobs off and with a screw driver adjust the flame to your desired low. Pop the knob back on and you are good to go. it isn't the stoves fault it is operator error. Being you are a renter you probably didn't get a manual.

My landlord just bought the same stove/oven! I was told by the men setting it up to turn it up to 350 degrees and heat it up for 45 minutes to burn off the inside chemicals before actually using it for baking. So that is what I am doing right now. I also noticed that my little empty pot slid off of one of the burners! I set the pot on the burner and was going to pour liquid in it and it slid off. So now I have to be mindful of pots and pans. I am wondering if there is a way to pull off the stove knobs and adjust them so that low is actually a low flame? I love to tinker with things and am going to look for ways to lower that flame as well. You and I are renters, and it is what it is, landlords want as much profit and as little expense in their rental units. My landlord rents to college kids (I am his first 'elderly' college kid) so he doesn't want to put a dime in the place because the kids damage things and don't clean. He said that if all of his tenants were as clean and thoughtful as I have been, he would be willing to do more to his places.

Our would smell like burning hair, and it turned out the inside had so much grease (because the landlord had never cleaned INSIDE the stove top, only around and the oven). When you pop open a stove top there's a lot of gunk under there. The grease pools under the stove tops. The burning smell could also be the electrical parts heating up inside. :/

I also have a super cheap amana my landlord got. I have the same problem with the low being too high, and the burner plates are so cheap and kind of convex, so if I don't hang on to my tiny non stick pan when I'm cooking an egg, egg and pan will go skidding off the stove. The oven rack is super flimsy and I don't trust it with say a heavy stew or a ham and now the oven light is giving me shocks. DO NOT RECOMMEND

The inside of my oven on the bottom panel has two openings that allows me to see the fire from the roasting component. A little apprehensive about cooking in the oven because of something spill I'm wondering will that cause a fire was something dripping in the roasting Department

Yes, we have the same crappy model. The model number is...AGR3311WDW3 I would still double check your model itself just to make sure it's the same the model. The number is located on inside of the broiler Not on the door to the broiler itself but On the oven upper left,Or upper right side of the surface of the oven itself so chjust double check if it's the same 1

For the first time in my life of 68 years I bought a new stove. It is an Amana gas range. Two years after purchase the electronic ignition broke. Luckily I had the extra warranty or it would have cost me $150. Now 3 years later something else is wrong. It gets and stays too hot. The warranty is no longer good and I can't afford to have it fixed. Instead I will probably look for a cheap used one. My first used stove was around 40 years old and still worked fine.

OMG!!!!! I wish I had checked the reviews for this stove b4 I bought the Black gas Amana range. Model AGR53330BAS. This stove is AWFUL!!!!! Amana shows a complete lack of intelligence, decency or basic common sense. To manufacture a stove that can not/will not/does not operate properly. Because the burners DO NOT TURN TO A LOW FLAME. WHY Amana?????? WHY????? I've had to learn to play musical chairs with the pots. Rotating them from burner to burner so food doesn't burn!!!! You can't take ur eyes off the stove. And you better not leave your kitchen bc that's a recipe for disaster. I feel like Amana conned and tricked me into purchasing their poorly made pathetic excuse for a stove. Shame on U

Hey +Joe King I first want to thank you for doing this review. Next thing I have the same situation as you except our NEW OVEN IS ELECTRIC!! It was purchased on Wednesday and the top is fine. But the oven stinks.. We have opened all the windows and door to the apt. I called the company and they said the smell will go away eventually!! He said it can take 7-14 days depending on how much you turn it on to burn off the chemicals they use in manufacturing. Also he stated that ALL BRAND NEW OVENS not just Amana, have the same smell. I'm wondering now if your smell has went away yet??? Have you or your roommate had any health issues???? The company rep. said that the oven is SAFE to use. HOWEVER, I dissagree with that statement!!! Due to the fact in our manual it says it can kill pet birds and other animals!!! PLEASE write me back.. THANKS AGAIN for your review!!! Open all windows to your apt. as well, as I think it could be harmful to humans as well. Please let me know any or all updates as we are going crazy as what to do...

I unfortunately have the same oven and now my oven is gone out. I've had this oven may 2 years. oven smelled the same way. Told me the smell would go away and it did eventually. however because my landlord went the cheap way out he may have to replace again or have the oven fixed. I agree with trying to cook something on low. Impossible when the fire only goes down to medium. Also no room for multiple big pots and pans to go on all four burners at the same time. A big thumbs down.

I found where you can adjust the gas flow: th-cam.com/video/eBZ1_7HJjVg/w-d-xo.html - and I have no problems with the oven? What my problem is - I spilled tons of eggnog and think it clogged one of the gas flow outlet cuz I don't hear any sound other than the ignition clicks? Does anyone know how to access the tube? Thanks!

The worst stove that I have ever used. Takes around 2 hours to bake a potato at the highest setting . It is new so the manager called the manufacturer and they sent someone to my apt. He checks nothing just stared at it after I turned it on and then said it is fine.
