OMG, another Australian rock group - so good. Upbeat tempo and the band is so togethert. Well recorded. Not many people here in the States kow anything about the Australian rock scene during the mid-late 60's. Great stuff to discover. Just listened to Paul James (?) and the Unknown Blues - wow - this band could have been from Chicago, NY, LA, etc. great garage rock. Interesting to read people's recollections of the bands and clubs in Sydney. A scene, a time, that was, and is, truly unknown here in the States.

Man, this song is swingin' and people keep mentioning the Ramones which I can see a slight parallel, but with the Harmonica and the background singers, this is hands down a stand alone band ahead of their time. A real shame they didn't get more recognition. I just heard this song a few months ago, and couldn't believe the sound they were putting out. WOW! Highly charged. Truthfully, I've been very appreciative of all Aussie music and groups. Hidden gems that should've screamed "We're Pure Austrailian Music." I was 10 yrs. old in '66 and back then it was the Beatles and Stones and Paul Revere and the Raiders and more. I wish they'd have played this on USA radio. If they did, they were overshadowed by the marketing of others. Hell, I remember the Easybeats from back when they surfaced. The Throb needed better promotion IMhO. Very nice and bookmarked in my TH-cam music.

I love this song and remember it well during my boyhood during the 1960s. Thanks for this video of 'Fortune Teller' Wilson. It is a shame that nobody can come up with a video of 'Black, is the Colour of my True Love's Hair'. I was wondering if someone could just play the song with any photos of the 60s and post it on TH-cam? Thanks.

A great bouncy tune - a better version than that of The Rolling Stones. Although it was very basic the original video that was set in a nightclub was cool - especially the blonde that was dancing in the cage!!

The Throb and The Missing Links were the two bands that Australia didn't appreciate at the time. They should have been huge.

Anyone remember Compulsion from NZ? They were great live, backing the Throb and others at our local surf club dances. Had a wild stage act from memory.

@@KevinHallSurfing They featured Reno Tahei, a Jimi Hendrix of sorts. I think Reno got into a bit of legal trouble. Don't think Compulsion released anything.

@@wellsy1954 Oh yes, how I remember the guitarist and the songs they played extremely well live. Can't find anything much about them and no videos sadly but that is across the board in the sixties. 8mm film was expensive for 3 minutes let alone 16mm! We tended to think things would never end either.

If the Stones are so good why isn’t their version of this song not comparable.

Oscar, I was a DieHard fan of the Stones version until someone suggested it, I said "What the hell" and clicked on the link and these Guy's Absolutely BLEW the Stones Away.
Having been a drummer most my life and Psychedelic Garage Music was something I jumped into till around 1986 and went deeper into the Old-Time Black Masters of the 50's and 60's and Never had Any regrets, I still Love to listen to this song and Many others because They Really are the Masterpieces that were hidden away from Most of us.

@munropete I took your advice, The Frowning Clouds are excellent, they remind me of The Pretty Things with a dash of early Stones.
