Bank Appointments:
1. Former deputy governor of RBI, Rakesh Mohan has appointed as World Bank Group's Economic Advisory Panel.
*Lord Nicholas Stern as chairman of the Economic Advisory Panel of WBG.
* World Bank Group Chief Economist - Indermit Gill as Co-chairman.
2. Amitabh Chaudhary reappointed as MD & CEO of Axis Bank for 3 years from 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2027 (2nd Extension) since Jan 2019. Meena Ganesh and Gopalaraman Padmanabhan as it's Independent Directors
3. Atanu Chakraborty reappointed as part-time chairman and Independent Directors of HDFC Bank for 3 years from 5 May to 4 May 2027.
4. Sanjeev Nautiyal has appointed MD & CEO of Ujjivan SFB for 3 years from 1Jul2024.
5. R Lakshmi Kanth Rao assumed charges as Executive Director of RBI from May 10.
6. RBI has accorded its approval to appoint Pradeep Natarajan as Whole Time Director, designated as Executive Director of IDFC First Bank for a period of three years.
MOUs:
1. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has signed MoU with SAI Bulgaria, the Bulgarian National Audit Office, in Sofia. Aims to Enhance Audit Expertise, Exchange of knowledge and experience amongst auditing professionals.
2. IFSCA of India signed MoU with Capital Market Authority (CMA) of Kuwait to share information regarding technologies & innovation within the financial and regulatory ecosystem. During India-Kuwait Investment Conference 2.0
3. NHPC signs MoU with Norway's Ocean Sun AS to advance floating solar energy technology in India. expands its renewable energy portfolio beyond hydropower to include solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects.
4. UAE-India CEPA Council Inks MoU with Indian Chamber of Commerce to enhance Economic and trade relations.
5. IIT Hyderabad and Japan based Renesas Electronics Corporation signed a 3 year MoU for Research and Collaboration in VLSI and embedded semi-conductor systems.
