A] IRDAI
1. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Of India (IRDAI) has approved 8 principle based consolidated regulations during its 125th Authority meeting in March 2024.
2. IRDAI mandates E-insurance for all new policies from 1st April 2024.
3. IRDAI celebrated it's silver jubilee on 19th April 2024.
4. IRDAI approves the appointment of Keki M Mistry as the new Chairman of the board of HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited.
5. The Hinduja Group Firm Induslnd International Holdings Limited has received the approval from IRDAI for acquisition of Reliance Capital.
6. NHA and IRDAI launched NHCX (National Health Claim Exchange) to facilitate the Exchange of claims related information among stakeholders in the Healthcare and health insurance ecosystem.
7. Mahindra finance received approval from IRDAI to sell Insurance products as corporate agent.
8. Recently IRDAI has unveiled "Bima Vistaar", an Insurance product tailored for the rural communities of India with only 1500 per Policy.
B] HOME MINISTRY
1. Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, launches a unique digital Criminal Case Management System ( CCMS ) designed by the Nationa Investigation Agency and a app called "Sankalan" a compendium of New Criminal Laws by the NCRB.
2. The Ministry of Home Affairs has granted no objection certificate to change the names of eight railway stations in Amethi, UP.
3. Ministry of Home Affairs constituted a high powered Committee chaired by VSK Kaumudi, to tackle increasing cybercrimes originating from South East Asian countries.
4. Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with Department of Telecommunications has launched in initiative called "Sanchar Sathi Initiative" to protect citizens from potential SMS fraud
5. Ministry of Home Affairs officially designated 17th september of every month as Hyderaba Liberation Day.
C] CONTRACTS RELATED TO DEFENCE
1. Ministry of Defence has signed five major Capital acquisition contracts worth ₹ 39,125,39 crore in New Delhi. Out of five, one with HAL, two with L&T and two with BAPL.
2. Ministry Of Defence signed ₹200 crore contract for anti drone system for the Indian Army and Indian Air Force with Chennai based Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Limited.
3. Ministry of Defence contracts worth ₹8073 cr with HAL to Acquire 34 ALH Dhruv MK ||| for Indian Army & ICG.
4. Ministry of Defence has signed MOU with four banks to on-board them as SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha Service Centres)
5. Indian Army is set to receive first Hermes-900 starliner drone, known as Drishti-10 from the Adani Defence Systems.
6. GRSE is building a new research vessel for the DRDO with a deal of approximately ₹500 crore.
