Even tho this review is several years old, it's still timely and Amazon still carries this product. Thank you for demonstrating on not only a potato, but on the apple, pear and lemon as well. I was especially interested in how well it peels apples and lemons too. My arthritis is making it necessary to buy a gadget and this one looks great for a few cents over $15 in Nov 2021. Big thumbs up.
I bought mine preowned without a manual. My main use was to peel 3 bushels of apples. I didn't realize it could be used for potatoes, mangos, etc. Today i peeled green apples for juicing, so much easier than hand peeling, as well as not losing precious pulp & juice. Thanks for the handy video. I couldn't figure out what the small knife in the botton was used for.
Thank you for posting an honest review. I'm thinking of purchasing one of these as I'm having a hard time with my hands since arthritis took over my body. It looks like it's easy to use and definitely works. Thank you again!
I like this. Put the lemon peel in a food processor and make lemon zest for future use. Just store it in the freezer or fridge, depeding on how long you intend to keep it stored.
Thanks for your honesty and sincerity I have been cooking root crops in their skins because an injury left me with one arm so peeling is now a challenge.
I was just about to buy this but thought to myself nah, it won't work for mangoes. But after seeing your review, I'm definitely going to buy it now. Thank you so much for this review, especially for using the mango and lemon in your tutorial. God bless you and be safe! 😊
That was funny, when the potato fell off the first time, but it's a good way to learn how to avoid the problem. I would give this peeler an A minus, or maybe even an A. It's up to you, the pro. I'm going to order one of these.
My mother hated peeling potatoes, they became very slippery to hold firmly as the peel was removed. She then used a paper towel to hold them while peeling which did help quite a bit, but would have enjoyed using this gadget.
Thank you for a proper review of the gadget. Many reviews I've seen so far leans towards the gadget not working well, mostly due to the fault of the user. If done properly, this machines works well.
That usually happens because people don't read the directions. I love mine because I can't use a hand-held peeler to save my life. Seems I'm all ''thumbs".......lol.....and my potato, or whatever ends up rolling across the kitchen floor, so, for me , this peeler is a life saver. I used to have the manual one, then graduated to the electric. The price is right, and does what it says. What more could you ask for? And yes, you can use it as a semi-spiralizer and make strands of fruits and veggies for toppings or salads, etc. So, in that respect, it sort of multi-tasks.
I purchased one and went through perhaps a dozen potatoes it doesn't work anywhere as well as her results. I found that for potatoes peeling it requires at least two passes and I STILL need to use a peeler afterwards though it does make peeling with a hand peeler easier.
Excellent review, and excellent product. It is really amazing!!! You mentioned the largest item to be peeled, about 12 centimeters. But you don't mention the smallest one. There are, for example, small red radishes that measure just about 4 centimeters. Can the be peeled with this apparatus? Thanks and best wishes.
After you peel the fruit/veggie, you can keep on going and make strands of mango, for instance, to use as a topping on cheesecake, same with the pear or apple, it gives you nice strands of fruit to work with, so not only does it peel, you can make a fruit salad using strands of fruits. All kinds of possibilities.
Nice review. Thank you. It appears a little more effort to center the spudling on the pins would be helpful. It's fun to watch, but I figure by the time you set the thing up you would be done in manual mode. This is a nice tool to help with your allergies, though.
Nice video; can you show or tell us how to switch out the blade with one of the other ones? Also, are the blades different widths for cutting or are they all the same?
It works great, while it works. The cheap motor assembly driving the rotating piece at the bottom will fail within 60 days. If you dont mind buying a new one every two months its great.
I would have to concur... the motor even sounds cheap. The whole unit looks very cheaply made. Kind of redundant when you still have to get your manual peeler out at the end to finish the job? With that said, she did a good job. Just looks like a shoddy product.
You forgot to mention "or if you're lazy" as a reason why you would want one lol! Which is what brought me to this video :) i would love to have this but i have too many kitchen appliances as it is.
Well, I'm NOT lazy by any stretch of the imagination, but I do get a large harvest of apples each fall, and with my arthritis, find it hard to peel by hand. This MIGHT help process the fruit quickly.
If you very lightly spritzed some sort of vegetable oil on the lower spikes to aid removal afterwards, do you think there'd be any loss in the gripping force or would multiple prongs deeply embedded into a potato, plus the holding arm, keep it just as secure? Thanks for this video by the way, I'm disabled, and looking for some devices to help me out 😊
I just ordered this it's coming on Tuesday wondering if the little holder Gadget thing pulls up and comes off for you to clean it... and you didn't show people how to do the lemon and the orange TWICE first time for the peel second time for the "white stuff"... I had a $200 commercial "orange peeler" machine that just bit the Dust UGH. So, thank you for this video. I'm looking forward to getting it I would put big end of the food down but I guess obviously it works either way...but again make sure to do it again 2 times to get all that white stuff off LOL
My peeler is turning counterclockwise instead of clockwise so the arm with the peeler is moving up instead of down the item it is peeling...or trying to peel. Therefore, it isn't working. Any fix for this?
Any idea if this would work on something like a carrot? Not only because it's thin but also because it's a much harder vegetable than the ones you've tested and i wonder if it "plugs" into the base easily
Thank you for your honest review, however, I think it will take longer to peel potatoes with this machine than it would to peel them with a normal potato peeler. I could have peeled by hand four potatoes in the time it takes to insert one potato onto the device, adjust the peeling arm and wait for it to peel the potato. Although it would be helpful for someone like yourself who has an allergy, this is a gadget I would definitely have to pass on. Not worth the money or time.
My family is too big for this device. Another gadget be thrown in the back of the cabinet. It looks too flimsy, time consuming and I can peel potatoes faster than that.🤷🏾♀️
You must be young. I'll tell you why - some people have had a stroke and lost the use of one arm. Some people have arthritis. Some people are very weak (like when I had cancer). Lots of whys. Stop shaking your head and use it to think with some empathy. Critical thinking is a good idea for you to look into as well.

😀👍
Certainly a genius way of peeling potatoes and other fruits of veggies. I'll have to buy one.

Reality...unedited really like this video for its honesty
Just purchased one have not used it yet wanted to see if it worked 👍 glad I found your Video 🙂😀 thank you for sharing
👍😀
Thank you - a very honest, practical and helpful review.
Glad you liked it 😀
If you are peeling 1 or 2 potatoes it may not be practical for most people but when you are peeling a 10lb bag it helps.
Thank you so much for reviewing this. I haven't been able to peel oranges for awhile so this will be a life saver.
Hi Alex, you're welcome - glad it was helpful! Please subscribe if you haven't already :)

Probably really good for people that have hand and wrist issues but other then that probably not to much but thank you for sharing

this is the best thing ive ever seen
You’re the best. This is second best.
That is so cool! Great for the days you are feeling way too lazy to peel anything.
I need this. I just peeled my index finger yesterday with a peeler while peeling a mango.
Great video tutorial
Thanks 😁

Not so with the time to setup. It takes seconds; she was just going slow for demonstration purposes, I believe. I have it and what a time saver.
Great review thanks!
Your reviews are good. Thanks for the video!!
You’re welcome 😁
could you give a honest review on how loud it is im tempted to buy but not sure cause im scared it would be just loud for a bunch at a time
Nice video; can you show or tell us how to switch out the blade with one of the other ones? Also, are the blades different widths for cutting or are they all the same?
I love mine. Use it daily & haven't had a potato slip yet.
Great, thanks for sharing your experience with us :)

Yes, it's definitely for lazier folks :)

Also good for folks with hands/knuckle issues; I, unfortunately, have acquired arthritis and this has been a life-saver

looks like a cool gadget
Awesome review
Thanks 😀
Did you do robotwist most reviews seem pretty good would be interested in what you think
I'll put it on the list :)
I've used one of these for about a year. Today after one bushel of pears, it stopped working at last 3 pears. I cannot take it apart to fix it.
Vanessa Odom Machen cool story
My peeler is turning counterclockwise instead of clockwise so the arm with the peeler is moving up instead of down the item it is peeling...or trying to peel. Therefore, it isn't working. Any fix for this?
Can it work on celery and carrots
I know I'm 4 years late but I just bought one of these for like 10 bucks and didn't know how it worked
That gives me a idia. I think I will use a grinder on my potatoes.
Thanks
Love this gadget! 🤘🏽
😀
@bestkitchenreviews Best method is to cut the top and the bottom of the vegetable/fruit below setting them in the machine.
Or you can just cut them after the peeler is done- same amount of time either way lol
0:40 an intruder does not want to come between you and the rotato Express!
Any idea if this would work on something like a carrot? Not only because it's thin but also because it's a much harder vegetable than the ones you've tested and i wonder if it "plugs" into the base easily
Hi, I haven't tried it on a carrot - it may be too thin to even reach the blade.
bestkitchenreviews can you peel a peach with it ?
Onion kar sakte hai??
thanks for saving me from ordering this pos lol. great vid :)
So the pieces can't be taken off and washed? Really?

Why do you keep holding it, isn’t it hands off?????
Got this in the mail today. This thing was terrible. Couldn't even do an apple. If wasnt strong enough. I think mine is defective
Where i can buy this without S&H Charge?
Hi Saju, I believe Walmart carries it. Hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)

Center your potato lady. Wee it looks like it works. I hate peeling potatoes.
it's like lathe
Blades broke immediately
Does it still continue to work that swiftly after many uses?
I dated a peeler once. I ended up being fleeced.
thought it said starfleet rotato express
Me too. That's why I clicked on the video.
so the on off button does not work
Ha ha I just bought one so worth it

Rock that potato!

This looks like more work than doing it by hand.
It is easy and much quicker
You obviously never help yo mother in the kitchen lol
I clicked to watch the starfruit be peeled. But now see that it is a part of the name and does not say fruit.
Awefull
Works like a hot damn
Bitte eine Übersetzung auf Deutsch mit Sprechen!!!
I bet you're allergic to the mango skin and not the potato.
1:03
Pesticides?
If its anything like my Ex, she could be allergic to WORK?
It's not working!
I still prefer to take a knife and do it myself
Wow, a regular hero.
My family is too big for this device. Another gadget be thrown in the back of the cabinet. It looks too flimsy, time consuming and I can peel potatoes faster than that.🤷🏾♀️

Tempted to give it thumbs down because your centering was so far off I thought it was a sabotage video, but it worked anyways.
