    Thank you so much! I just lost my stand for my 350L long because of a leak whilst away on holiday. Luckily we managed to save the tank and inhabitants, but the stand coudn't be saved. This is just the perfect video for constucting stands for big tanks :)

    Thanks for the tutorial Mick. Used this method to build a nice solid stand for my new 6 x 3 1000 litre tank.

      How many lengths of 4x2 did you end up using mate? Building one for a 5x2x2 ideally don't want to get a lot of wastage

    Hi mate just wondering if you could help. I’m looking to make a 6x2x2 stand and as I’m crap with measurements I was wondering if you had the time if you could give me a list of the sizes I’d need to complete this obviously using 4by2 plywood. I can then go to my local timber shop to get everything cut. Thanks

      Hey mate I would know of the top of my head make it 10mm bigger than the tank is so it hangs over 5mm either side

  • @MsBethanyClaire
    @MsBethanyClaire 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Same method I used except I cut the 900mm length over size to allow for levelling. Screwed in the bottom like you did, making sure the stand is in the same place it will stay. Then instead of flipping it I slid up the top and levelled using clamps, screwed in the top then cut down the uprights. It means your support are all slightly different so you need to measure each one but the tank is perfectly level.

    What’s the dimensions of the lengths of timber you are using Mick? 4 x 2 or something else

    • @MicksFishUk
      @MicksFishUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s 4x2 mate and the lengths were 3 meters

    Will 3x2 be strong enough for a 450L 5ft tank?

    • @MicksFishUk
      @MicksFishUk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes mate will be fine as long as you use it the way I have used the 4x2. You can always add a extra support on each point if you need to mate but I’m shaw it will be fine. I have a tonne of weight on my stand and urs will be half a tonne with that tank 👍🏻
