Thank you so much for this excellent video, the tip to turn the hips ist new for me .I have never seen in other videos .I have tried it yesterday, it was key and it worked very good. N.Ebert
thanks for you're great tutorials lous. i'm a windsurfer thinking about also starting wingfoiling. you make it look easy and in you're video's i can feel the love for the sport. cheers from an other vitamin sea adict.
Great video about gybing. I'm entering into my gybe whilst flying now so I just have to figure out the exit... I believe by watching you that being and staying centred (by not moving the feet) is key. I'm a windsurfer and snowboarder and there are so many skill transfers between the 3 sports... that's very interesting. Also, is this video on lac d'Annecy, au milieu pres de de Menthon St Bernard? Et du coup le wingfoiling passe bien sur le lac l'ete? Assez de vent? Merci
Nice, great job! I also snowboard a bit and surf and I really like to see the similarities between the sports. This video is filmed at Lake Garda, it’s a great place for winging, wind almost everyday and a beautiful place in general.
Now for the purpose of practicing the jibe (and possibly the tack as well) on relatively flat water with size of 6 - 7 m2 size on relatively flat waters, which one do you think it's better, Mantjs or Crosswing X3.... Or it really does not make any difference?
Hi Jose, I'm using the Cabrinha Crosswing X2 in 3m and 5m. In the video I'm using the 3m to do the demonstration on the beach and on the water only the 5m since the wind was only 11-15 knots there at Lake Garda.
@@AnnelousLammertsJust curious... I know its a learning process. How many hours did it take you to actually start having fun with this? I do know how to windsurf so hopefully that helps. Oh by the way....Lake Garda is beautiful location.
@@JoseJimenez-me5fq I was up and riding and having fun after half an hour, but I did already have a lot of experience foiling and kitesurfing. When you have a experience windsurfing you’ll learn fast as well! Especially if you go on quite a big board for the first session. Here is a little video I made on learning how to wing: th-cam.com/video/8SHGsO4P6AQ/w-d-xo.html
Suggestion ... video about starting to turn, in taxi mode but powered. Most video, if so, show turning when on your knees or when standing up but stationary turning the board with your feet a d then powering up again. Most jump to turns when already being able to be on foil. Also most only show the jibe but when beginner you don't want to loose ground each time when turning. Lucky I now manage to go upwind (most of the time) but when I fall and need to get back on the board, find balance, flip over the wing, and by doing so I loose too much ground.
Traditionally, windsurfers have referred to a gybe where you change your feet as a 'step gybe', and a gybe where you exit in switch stance is called a 'switch gybe'. You seemed to refer to a the traditional 'step gybe' as a 'switch gybe'. Is that deliberate?
Hi Angus, Good to know! In kiteboarding I say it the other way around, like the switch in other boardsports. With wingfoiling you’ll do a lot of things like riding waves with your regular foot and I for example only go switch (goofy in my case) to go upwind :)
Grazie per il video. Ho visto che hai una tavola cabrinha x-fly 6.2 111 litri, volevo un consiglio, sono 68 kg e alto 1,78 mt, secondo te va bene la tavola che hai tu. Grazie
Thanks for posting. Helpful!

Thanks - keeping body upright and turning with hips might just be the tip I needed in my practice - wish me luck in my next session!
That's great! Let me know how it went and you can always send me a video on Instagram or FB for some more personal tips. Good luck and have fun!
What a great tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you!
Wow great location .... your explanation of gybes is so good 😊

that looks sooo fun. i not good swimmer, so wear lifevest, lol
Yes, it’s a good tip for people learning to use a life vest and wear a helmet:)

Both are really good for manoeuvres. :) The Crosswing is more powerful than the Mantis, so can be ridden slightly smaller!
Thank you for the clip. Where is that lake(?) you are demonstrating the jibe in this clip ?
This is at Lake Garda in Italy :)
@@AnnelousLammerts Thank you. Is there any good season to visit? Any school or shop you recommend?
Great video. Are there places which rent wing foiling gear on Lake Garda?

Excellent, You made me believe it’s easy!, till you said there will be a1000 things to focus on when you are in the water.
Haha, practice makes easy! These tips might help fastening the learning curve but the secret is always putting in the hours on the water:)
