1961 Triumph 3TA, sold because we were broke, with a toddler and needed a new washing machine. TBH, it needed some work done to the worn-out carburettor and feeble distributor but it was my main transport at one time and always got me to wherever I was going (although it sometimes needed a couple of minutes rest along the way). According to the DVLA, it still exists and is SORNed somewhere.
I sold my 1973 kawasaki z1, same colour as your rs. It was a genuine UK model, apparently there was less than 40 came here in 73. Sold it must be 15 years ago now. 😢
Over 40 years ago sold my Kawasaki Z1000st after it had been rebuilt because of my head on crash , it had a new engine fitted and many other parts . I rode it for a few days and then sat on it over the road from a dealer and I wasn’t thinking straight, the crash was bad and I think I lost my nerve. I went across to the dealer didn’t even negotiate just except whatever he offered 😢😢. Is it because your interested in history that look in graveyards after all there’s a lot of history there.😊
Here's a thought for you Willie, Graves could be like motorbikes, they can be brand new or second hand. Apparently they may start to reuse old graves older than 75 years. The original occupant will be dug up, the bones gathered up and a small hole dug in the bottom of the grave where the old occupant is placed all jumbled up either that or the bones will be ground up and used as bone meal fertiliser and then a new occupier is laid to rest on top to rest in peace for another 75 years if they are lucky. A grave with just the original occupant would be known as a single grave, if its a reused grave it would be a twin and then a triple and then in time it could hold four, so there you go, proof indeed that graves are like motorbikes. Now we know why you love cemeteries so much :)
If you haven’t read it I can recommend ‘Tomb With a View’ by Peter Ross. Think you will enjoy it, very insightful look at the subject of graves, memories and death.
There’s only two bikes I regret no longer owning. Series 2 Royal Enfield Interceptor, early seventies, had many Enfields but that was the ultimate. Mid to late nineties Honda XRV750 Africa Twin, started touring in Europe on that one, long before Ewan & Charlie made adventure bikes as popular as they now are.
I still miss my 1971 T350 Suzuki gold coloured and yes it’s worth gold to me. I’ve seen one or 2 around in the last few years and emotion and nostalgia return to me.

I had until quite recently a Lambretta Li 150, series 1, 1958, Red and White. I had it for many years. A mod remains a mod even when they don't have a scooter, but I now have a lovely big boys bike that I intend to take on the next local DGR meet. Have you thought about going on the DGR.
Probably had 20-30 bikes in last 30 years or so. Bizarrely, the bike you always miss is probably in most cases the worst as it was your first? However, because it was your first it represented freedom and independence often with funny stories. At 17, mine was a late 70’s Suzuki b120 two stroke that I borrowed from my dad. Horrible thing but, so many memories. Bit like your first love, all the best intentions, with no idea but, what fun!
Two Cagivas spring to mind; a 900 Elefant and it's successor, a Gran Canyon. If only... I also chopped in a F650GS Dakar for a 1150GS Adventure in 2002. Just before Charlie and Ewan made them famous. Wish I still had those two an all 😢
Maybe the classic 500, but I only have eyes for Bonnie now 😆 🤣 😂. I'm going to miss the live mate because we'll be on the bikes heading to Dunedin to pick up the new speed twin 900. Bit of a bugger but I'll catch it when you post it. Take care man.
Sold my 2019 harley davidson sport glide that i put more than 10k worth of mods on including custom paint. Selling it was the right decision because i wanted to move to a completely different category of motorcycly (sport touring, own a tracer 9 now and very happy with it) but the harley was very unique and in a way i miss it

hello Willy 🎉 i had a big ruckus over here in the states idk where i read or heard it but it was something along the lines of only 1300 made it into the states it had twin bug lights (baha) it was a 250 automatic single cylinder automatic the passenger seat would double as a back rest it was a 2006 .....i think it was only produced 05-06 later.
@2wheeledwillie395 yeah I did the first time too not a problem. I need your opinion of the luggage kinda torn between these to bags on the panniers of interceptor.

Hey Willie..... My biggest selling regret was my 1170 Nitrous Katana......I am thinking of selling my RD250....its the classic yellow and black speedblock..... But ...... do I ? I have recently been clearing the graves of one of the owners of my house (I rebuilt the small barn and named it i his honour) he is buried with his wife and one of his daughters along with his son in law just 200yards from the house. I had a BMW R80RT in burgundy metallic a 1980 model complete with factory panniers. Had many sports bikes over the years plus tourers of up to 1200cc, but the BMW R80RT had won me over. I could service it myself, plus it sounded amazing with the stainless standard silencer's. Did a bike safe course and the instructors all wanted a go? They used it to show how to pick your bike up as it had substantial engine bars. On the ride the ex police rider who was following said it sounded just like the Triumph Saint the police used to use, especially in the country lanes. As I said I miss it terribly and instantly regretted selling it.
Hey Willie, I am missing the Valkyrie like mad. I am missing all of the bling on it but it had to go cause it was getting older then I got a rocket wow a machine I miss the Grant every time I open up the throttle but I love the wing. It is such a Swiss army knife. It does everything carries everything. It’s even got a reverse. I am now a gold winger. I can’t see anything that I fancy ahead of me. Can’t wait to do some more light parades with it. Catch you soon.
A suzuki SV1000, I bought it as a write off, it was a crescent suzuki special, yoshi can's, airbox mod, engine tune. Certification signed by John Reynolds and Yuki Kagayarma and Paul Denning. I rebuilt it, loved it, but due to bad back (old git syndrome) to painful to ride, so sold it, the guy wasn't even at the end of my road before I knew I should of kept it.... only positive is the lad that bought it loves it too!
All of them! Most of all my first bike a TS185ERN 1979. I felt attatched to them all, but where would I keep a dozen bikes? Times were harder back then and it was economical sense to sell an aging bike to move onto something slightly newer and hopefully better. The one in my profile is my keeper.
Hi Willie - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. The two bikes I reflect on are the Yamaha XS650 and the Honda CX 500 custom. I bought the Yam new in 1973 by trading in my 1970 Commando Roadster. I was young and had to travel 150 miles cross country home each weekend, which wasn’t viable on a naked bike in winter. I bowed to the inevitable and bought a 1963 Morris Minor saloon. I bought the Yam because it was £750 compared to my other option, a Honda CB500, that was £900 - a big difference at a time when I earned £60 net per month living away from home. The CX was acquired secondhand privately in the mid 80s. It was a glorious metallic burgundy with black detailing and I highly polished the radiator sides and engine casings. A beautiful bike to own and quite rare that I traded for a new Yam XJ900 in July 1990. I’m currently trying to source a good example of my first two bikes, 1965 &1966 Honda C200s. Mine were red but the only ones I’ve seen are American black examples.
RD250LC, Bought it brand new, the only bike I ever dreamed about. Only sold it because I couldn't ride it as I hadn't passed my bike test. Honda XL125R, loved it especially in the snow and green lanes. Honda C90 the last bike I owned, gave it away as it it didn't have an mot and I had just passed my car test. I wish I kept it as it was so cheap to run. Hopefully I'll pass my test next week then I can ride my Yamaha Tracer 700 which I bought back in September. Still waiting for my test as it's been put back twice due to the weather.
When my best friend was 20 ( now 65), he inherited a massive amount of money and has owned the ultimate bikes. And the bike that is he's all time favourite, GPZ 750 turbo.
@@marktiller1383 one of the motorcycle riders I hung out with back in 1980 I think 🤔. I always loved watch motorcycles ride off up the road as we sat on the low wall of the pub motorcycle parking. The one I used to enjoy most was the GPZ 750 TURBO I was gorgeous.
Yamaha RD250 air cooled , i really chopped it about made a complete new seat much shorter , shortened the rear mudguard suzuki back light lc pipes , the back tyre was the widest you could fit on the rim , blue frame the rest was bright yellow loads of polished alloy , and i havn't got a photo of it
I haven't sold a bike yet so nothing to regret 😂. Won't be able to catch your live on Friday but will definitely catch up after. Hope all goes well with the new bike and Friday's live.
I miss all my bikes but I have three that I really wish I still had. My Suzuki TS400 street scrambler was a great daily rider and weekend toy. I had an ex works Maico 490 for when off road matters got serious, (always loved two strokes), and I really miss my Yamaha XS1100 (1.1) resplendent in maroon and silver...sigh. Looking forward to Friday :) Thinking about it, probably a good thing I haven't got the Maico anymore...
The Blow Up dolls, I forgot to mention something about that. I told a couple of my ole buddies that I'm going to be riding to Alaska this Summer. I've mentioned before that me and my old friends from back home are like you, Rob and your group of friends are like, and as soon as I told them about the trip they said they were going to send me a blow up doll for the back of my bike. 🤣 Looking forward to the live chat. I'll tell lil Sprout to sleep in. 😊 Bikes I regretted selling. My first bike a lil Yamaha 60, (Which I found pieces of in the scrap bin of welding class when I was in HS. I was horrified!) my second bike a Yamaha 125 Dual Sport (which we called enduros back then) and my 2000 Road King.
Bikes I regret selling, Rickman CR Kawasaki Z900 with Wiseco 1100 big bore conversion, Ural Dnieper 650 with right hand sidecar, MZ ETZ 301, all brilliant bikes wish they were in my garage now.
Hi Willie, the bike I regret selling was my 1980 Honda super dream in red.I think I paid just under £1000 new for it on hire purchase. From my local dealer in Cambridge. Might be late for your live banter Friday, I will be on my way home. But I'll try and get the tail end of it. 😊
I sold a Goldwing GL1000 in the early 90's and regret it. I remember seeing that bike when I was at school in the mid 70's and bought it in the late 80's. I sold it for £750 and it was in mint condition......looked almost brand new. Less than 12 month later a GL1000 same year (P reg) was up for sale in Newcastle for £3k......in nowhere near the condition of mine. Had to sell it because I kept it in my mate's mother's council garage and she give it up and I had no where to keep my bike, so had to sell it. Bugger.
Suzuki 600 bandit. Very first model. Was a revelation after 3bmw.s. Traded in 98 for 1100guzzi sport which was hard work and in real terms most expensive bike I.ve bought. Ten miles from dealer bumped into a mate on the guzzi. He said you Don.t look very happy!!! I was.nt. Cancelled a bandit 12 in favour of it. Big mistake. I got a 1200 bandit 5yr later. Fantastic bike.
I don't think I've ever sold a bike and then regretted it because there would be a valid reason I sold it on. There have been some women in my life where I think I missed some opportunities but that's different! As for buying back a bike I once owned, I can't see me doing that. There are so many bikes out there to experience that buying back one I've already had the ownership experience of would take second place to trying something I never owned before. Plus, you don't know how it's been treated while it was out of your ownership so you might be buying a dog! Graves - that white picket fence is lovely but will need a lot of maintaining to keep it looking good. Obviously someone is doing that now, but what's going to happen in years to come? Maybe something more substantial in stone with solid iron railings would last better? But hey, it's only for the benefit of loved ones of the deceased since the occupant of the grave ain't around any more to appreciate it or not. BTW, you're Mrs advice about being careful in graveyards reminded me of the old joke about the guy who picked up a hitch hiker: Hitch hiker says, as they drive off. "how do you know I'm not a serial killer"? "Nah" says the driver, "What's the chances of 2 serial killers being in the same car"? Vince C
The bike for me that I have always regretted selling was my Kawasaki ZXR750H2 I’am 65 now and it’s not a bike I would be able to ride for long these days but I wish I still had it
Hi Willie yep definitely do for the last 3/4 years I’ve gone from my BMW GSA to a ninja 1000. 3 ninjas later and 2 GSA’s I thought why wasting money buy another GSA so later on in the year I’ll have my ninja 1000 and my GSA solves my problem of kitting them up and selling 👍🏍️😎
I have a 1978 BMW R80/7. People tell me “Don’t ever sell it, you will always regret it.” But, I want that Classic 350!

Graves may become neglected over time but as long as there is someone to read the stones their memory remains.

Haha! Thanks REGGY 👍
Every cloud right?! 😂
Hi Willie, have you found any gravestones with the skull & crossbones carved on them, bike wish i had kept 1990 Ducati 900 ss
I haven't yet! Nice bike BTW 👍
All of them! Most of all my first bike a TS185ERN 1979. I felt attatched to them all, but where would I keep a dozen bikes? Times were harder back then and it was economical sense to sell an aging bike to move onto something slightly newer and hopefully better. The one in my profile is my keeper.
Love your Triumph Andy!!! 😍
I hate selling any bike so I guess it's all of them !
😂😂😂👍
Hi Willie you should change your channel name to dead and buried I don’t sell my bikes as I mainly crash them lol 👍
Dead and buried?!? 😂😂😂Love that name.. Maybe as a 2nd channel 👍
Its quite simple really Willie just change your profession to grave digger then you get paid to be at the bone yard good luck Friday night my mate 👍
@@rodneysweetnam8653 great comments BR 👍Hope Yr going to be around for the live vid on Friday bud 🤞
My F900XR. A good allrounder that worked well. I would happily buy another.
Thanks buddy 🙏
RD250LC, Bought it brand new, the only bike I ever dreamed about. Only sold it because I couldn't ride it as I hadn't passed my bike test. Honda XL125R, loved it especially in the snow and green lanes. Honda C90 the last bike I owned, gave it away as it it didn't have an mot and I had just passed my car test. I wish I kept it as it was so cheap to run. Hopefully I'll pass my test next week then I can ride my Yamaha Tracer 700 which I bought back in September. Still waiting for my test as it's been put back twice due to the weather.
Good luck with the test bud 🤞
When my best friend was 20 ( now 65), he inherited a massive amount of money and has owned the ultimate bikes. And the bike that is he's all time favourite, GPZ 750 turbo.
I remember them! Very cool 😎
Yamaha RD250 air cooled , i really chopped it about made a complete new seat much shorter , shortened the rear mudguard suzuki back light lc pipes , the back tyre was the widest you could fit on the rim , blue frame the rest was bright yellow loads of polished alloy , and i havn't got a photo of it
Shame you don't have a photo 😞
I haven't sold a bike yet so nothing to regret 😂. Won't be able to catch your live on Friday but will definitely catch up after. Hope all goes well with the new bike and Friday's live.
Thanks so much Phil!
Loved the XS1100 Jack 👍👍 chat on Friday 🙏
Hi Willie, I had a Triumph Sprint (900 triple) in candy apple red. It's a bike I miss.
Thanks Colin 🙏
The Blow Up dolls, I forgot to mention something about that.
I told a couple of my ole buddies that I'm going to be riding to Alaska this Summer. I've mentioned before that me and my old friends from back home are like you, Rob and your group of friends are like, and as soon as I told them about the trip they said they were going to send me a blow up doll for the back of my bike. 🤣
Looking forward to the live chat. I'll tell lil Sprout to sleep in. 😊
Bikes I regretted selling. My first bike a lil Yamaha 60, (Which I found pieces of in the scrap bin of welding class when I was in HS. I was horrified!) my second bike a Yamaha 125 Dual Sport (which we called enduros back then) and my 2000 Road King.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Great story Pinkie!!!
Bikes I regret selling, Rickman CR Kawasaki Z900 with Wiseco 1100 big bore conversion, Ural Dnieper 650 with right hand sidecar, MZ ETZ 301, all brilliant bikes wish they were in my garage now.
Thanks buddy 👍
Hi Willie, the bike I regret selling was my 1980 Honda super dream in red.I think I paid just under £1000 new for it on hire purchase. From my local dealer in Cambridge. Might be late for your live banter Friday, I will be on my way home. But I'll try and get the tail end of it. 😊
Thanks Kev 👍 hopefully chat on Friday bud
same here, my 1980 250 SD in black, but I'd just bought a car and couldn't have both - was living at home aged 19 and dad wanted his garage back
I sold a Goldwing GL1000 in the early 90's and regret it.
Bugger.
Great comments, thanks Dave 👍
Suzuki 600 bandit. Very first model. Was a revelation after 3bmw.s. Traded in 98 for 1100guzzi sport which was hard work and in real terms most expensive bike I.ve bought. Ten miles from dealer bumped into a mate on the guzzi. He said you Don.t look very happy!!! I was.nt. Cancelled a bandit 12 in favour of it. Big mistake. I got a 1200 bandit 5yr later. Fantastic bike.
Loved the 1200 Bandit 👍
i am beginning to think sandy is very underestimated ;;;
His channel is up there for me Simon 👍
I regret selling my 1981 Kawasaki Z200 in red. The reason being it was a great plodder that was excellent on fuel. 👍
I wonder if it still lives? 🤔
BTW, you're Mrs advice about being careful in graveyards reminded me of the old joke about the guy who picked up a hitch hiker:
Hitch hiker says, as they drive off. "how do you know I'm not a serial killer"?
"Nah" says the driver, "What's the chances of 2 serial killers being in the same car"?

Brilliant comments Vince!!! I hope you can join me in the live chat on Friday bud.. These are the comments I love
The bike for me that I have always regretted selling was my Kawasaki ZXR750H2 I’am 65 now and it’s not a bike I would be able to ride for long these days but I wish I still had it
Had to goggle it but very cool bike!!!
You're getting another GSA Derek??
Yes a one off build from my very good friend in London
