This is the longplay of the game Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, a 2D platform game released by Accolade in the 1990s for SNES and Mega Drive, in a time when anthropomorphic animals as game mascots made gigantic success, and games were competing to create the perfect mascot that captivated both adults and children.
In the game, enemy aliens called "Woolies" intend to steal Earth's supply of yarnballs, and as Bubsy has the world's largest collection of yarnballs, he has the most at stake, and sets out to stop the Woolies and reclaim the yarnballs. Alright, this is not the best story you've ever read, but it certainly suits the game. Bubsy is a lynx cat and is a relatively famous character, but it is not famous for the right reasons because it is an extremely simple character and of little depth with respect to others. In the game we can collect yarnballs and also white shirts with numbers to get extra lives, with exclamation for invincibility and black shirts that give a darker look to the character, who has skills like jumping, running and gliding in the air. Bubsy was to be a character in the style of Sonic The Hedgehog, but the level bad design of this game does not do well and causes the character to bump into enemies, thorns and even die if they fall from high places, in addition to having different animations when the character dies and maybe those elements have made Bubsy still quite remembered these days. It is a game that had potential, but that was not used as it should, is not a good game and is not a bad game either. The video was made by getting all Special Stages of all stages.

It's honestly my favorite game on the snes. Love this thing! Most people hate it though and I think it's just because it was too hard for them 😂😂

I actually enjoy Bubsy as a character, and I also think the first game isn't all that bad in my opinion, I think he could have been given some different attacks other than just the float attack especially since he is a Bobcat so he could have been able to jump high since Bobcats can jump up to twelve feet, of course if they still wanted him to glide they could have that, and they could have let Bubsy scratch at his enemies; But what I feel Bubsy needs more than anything else is for there not to be fall damage at all in a 2D platformer, Bubsy shouldn't die in one hit I feel that they could have made him lose some of his yarn balls if he gets which he'd then try to collect them so if he loses them all then he could die while still being able to get lives from his shirts which are placed around the levels, and if they wanted to they could of had Bubsy wear his own Super Hero Costume for all the time he's invincible when he collects that one shirt.

In a party with friends we tried to play this in a snes console but this game is very difficult for us that we cannot pass the first level, like a sonic but with instakill and so many traps in the way

Yeah, that music is great. Too bad the sequel has much worse sound, that for some reason even on SNES sounds like an awful Genesis soundtrack for a Western game.
actually in the genesis version I liked the music of hill streams blues, fairy foul and woolering heights, they are the best
@@grongy6122ok but bubsy 2 isn't that bad, let's say it's decent because bubsy can get hit 3 times and you can get the bonus with arnold the armadillo and you can drive bubsy's grandchildren, (and I discovered that when you stand still you can hear the entire music of the level)

Great music. Good character design. Good abilities. Poor dialogue. Terrible level design. Repetitive enemies and bosses. One hit kills.
This character really could have been something if it had been given to a better team. This is one of those “I really want to like this but…” kind of games.

The original Bubsy is a legitimately great platformer. It's a damn shame every single sequel dragged the franchise further and further down into its tired meme-status.

@@user-wj8sl5ue1z I don’t really remember AP too well, as he was one of those failed mascot games that tried to be the next Sonic or Mario… I enjoyed Boogerman, though, because LITERAL toilet humor… Bubsy is actually still hanging on, AND producing merch in addition to the games…
@@TrueSolunaris already! there were a lot of cute 90s mascots who tried to be famous like mario and sonic even if they failed to be so but I'm happy to have remembered them all last year in 2023 as I only drew mario and sonic! the old mascots must all return if the world of video games wants to be beautiful

I love this game so much my childhood memories but this is very hard game I use cheats and password, I did not know it is mockbuster of Sonic The Hedgehog I still like bubsy more than Sonic
Tried to mimic Sonic but failed in every way:
Wide, open platforming levels with easy fall damage, although it can be mitigated with a single button…
EVERYTHING that deals damage is instakill…
Bubsy goes too fast for his own good, with Sonic you can still stay in control as you speed through the game…
Sonic is the epitome of 90s ‘tude, Bubsy tried to mimic that, but only ended up making lame puns and dated pop culture references…
Don’t get Mii wrong, it is a good game, but it’s more of a case of “Mission Failed Successfully”…

Unpopular opinion: I liked the game and I managed to finish it after renting it a lot of times. It was kind of hard
I really loved this game as a kid. The character is very charismatic and well thought. But now that I see it again after three decades... It wasn't very good.
Certain! bubsy's 2D games are strong, but if bubsy is like this in paws on fire it's only because he has aged so much after the success of his very first game in 1993 and in his ruined career in 1996 for that 3D abomination for ps1, but I don't find him ugly otherwise why do his nephews call him "Uncle Bubsy"? so he is justified in being like this, then after all "what could pawsibly go wrong"? ❗❗❗

Honestly, that's not bad, it's a decent 16bit platformer. But the 3D Bubsy game for Playstation was really bad with such ugly graphics and sounds...

The 2D Bubsy games were nowhere near as bad as they're made out to be. Yeah, he's annoying as all hell when he talks, but game wise, they're ok. The Jaguar one in particular looks really nice and plays well. Let's just be glad that they never, EVER made a garbage 3D Bubsy game that is legitimately the worst thing ever made by humans. Nope. Never happened. Mmm hmm.

.. sure the fall damage and forced momentum are problems but the game is pretty much functional.
(Nintendo must've thought it was an okay game too. They published the European version, believe it or not)
This was my first game on snes and i beat it eventually as a child. Awesome memories.
The fall damage would be fine if it didn't kill you. It's the same problem Donkey Kong Jr. suffers from. But everyone has their preferences, I guess.
Aside from the camera issues, i enjoy it. I'll take it over the steaming turd of Bubsy 2 any day.
It's a great game. Idiots want it to play like other games but it doesn't have to because it's not those games lol. I've never understand the criticism it gets. It's its own game and take it for what it is. (not you, just referencing most others I hear complain about it.

if you don't want the game to be difficult there are apps for children with here you can go and play them since they are easy for you, i.e. BUT REALLY?!! and how to complain with the game "battletoads" because there is an easy part and then comes the impossible!!!
