Voice Play always sticks close to the original while adding their own mark on all their songs. When it comes to Disney songs they stay in a Disney type vibe. They always do Disney justice & love to go theatrical with them. Mostly all other groups go rock with all Disney songs which totally take them out of character. Voice Play are the only ones that think of everything when it comes to costumes, props & background.
It's a delight to watch how readily Klown catches everything Layne's doing. NOBODY ELSE comes close to that. And I lol'd ar Klown saying "you can do it; it's easy"....
It's a marvelous video (Lord, Geoff was quite the villain) and your trying to teach us something brings a smile to my face which probably doesn't help my efforts!
I'm thinking your microphone must be waterproof, right? I've never seen Lion King, don't intend to, but this is wonderful!! You didn't mention Cesar's trill, right after Geoff's first or second low, low note. It was so exciting!
Ah, man, I didn't get notice of this stream! Bummer! I would have loved to have been there. Fantastic reaction, and so interesting seeing the beatboxing highlighted. 💙
I did learn something! And I had fun doing it, too. And yes, Mykal was a founding member with Geoff, Layne and Earl back in the day. 4 the Love. Then Scott Porter joined and they were 5 members so they became 4 2,5. Then later, VoicePlay. Also, if you give Lion King another go, watch the animated version, not that live action abomination they did. 😂
Layne is not Pumbaa. He can't be, because Pumbaa was a good guy, not an evil hyena. I think he's just another hyena. Remember in the movie there was kind of a crazy hyena (Ed?) who wasn't quite all there? I think that's who he's kind of supposed to be. While Eli and Cesar and Mykal are sharing the roles that Whoopi Goldberg and Cheech Marin played in the film. Hyenas, but more...sane ones. :)
Honestly, the Lion King is significantly over-rated, and this song in its original form is all kinds of meh. But VoicePlay's arrangement and performance are great.
Subtitles are MANDATORY! They uh... call that Lion roar "Meow!" And it murdered me and pretty much everyone else who caught it😂
Geoff is the one who does the captions. He is genius at creating the written dialog.
@@Someone-dv7hw Will turn on captions next time!
I'm still laughing 😂

I’ve been nagging VP to do this forever. Soooo good! That nose boop just made it!

LOL your intro was so energetic! True confession, I've only seen Lion King once and forgot most of it. Enjoy your reaction and tutorials as always
I love Villian songs because it's so not who they are in real life. They are great actors as well as fabulous entertainers
And Geoff Castellucci with sixteen tons!!

OMG, you defined Geoff's appearance perfectly 🥰
Thanks Klown 😊
💛💛💛 always so much fun to hang out with you!
Thank you for another great reaction to Voice Play.

Geoff Earl & Layne were the original founding members of Voice Play . Mykal was not.

Don't feel bad I never seen The Godfather either❕️❗️
