An absolute classic, an iconic light bar that no European "blue light friend" can ignore.🤩🚨👌🏻 As a model builder I have once rebuilt a blue strobe Whelen Edge 9000 in 1/18 for a Luxembourg policeman friend, as well as in 1/43 with working lights, although the original could also have been the German licensed version "Hänsch DBS 975", I can't remember right now.🤔😉 I also built three models with light in 1/87 scale, a red version with yellow "Wig-Wags" to the rear can be found on my channel, as can the 1/43 bar on a Audi A4 Police Grand Ducale (Luxembourg).😊😇
Take it from me... Don't lick your fingers and grab the internal strobes, even after their powered down! HaHa- I've had a twitch for 40 years now 🙂 Thanks for the retro - tribute to Howard Berke. Loved the 9000's and still have some in-service
Long time no see Steward! This channel and both of you are part of my childhood. Grew up watching your videos, been fan of emergency lights when I was 5, when I first saw MX7000 blue/blue on police GMC sierra, I'm hooked to it from that time, now learning outfitting, hopefully I'll be building emergency vehicles soon
I wish someone could figure out a rotating motor that was efficient. I so remember how much better the old rotating lights could be seen from distances
I have a question, did you guys outfit the CCSO 2008 Chargers? If so, what kind of liberty setup did they use? Spotlights? Interior? Would be amazing to know so I can replicate it in a game! Thank you!
Yes, the lightbar used on the 2008 Chargers is an SX8RRBB Liberty LC Series. Unity 6" Spotlights thru the A-pillars (later updated to have a Whelen PAR46 LED Insert), and the rear deck lights were Whelen single Avenger's. We hope this helps.🚔

This is amazing! We need more videos like this. I would definitely come back more often for those types of videos
Edge is a legend for sure. I am so happy I was able to get a new never used 9M a couple of years ago. That what really started my collection.
The Edge is the most iconic strobe lightbar of all time.

... and dont rest your arm on the chrome drip rail when checking connections while its running. Hit me 8 times before i could get away.
I wouldn't even touch em with dry fingers.
Lmao
It was a legend, I sold so many and unbelievable configurations.
super super rare endcaps on this
The Edge bars were good lightbars, just terrible at night in a snowstorm! Sounds like Howard was like Earl Gossweiler at Federal! R.I.P. Sir!
Agree completely,! Going code at night was like going light speed.
@DieselKevcop While plowing at night, I always kept an old rotary light with me.
Only an intense light buff would know the name Earl Gossweiler ! 👍😉 He was an incredible innovator !

I miss the pop of real strobes, LEDs are bright sure... But they still miss that unique real strobe feel
Lol. my imterior strobes went weet weet.....weet weet.... Could hardly use the radio.
What a throwback!
Interesting and thank you both !
Thank you for watching!
@@SIRENNETThank you for having us!

That's a nice lightbar. May Howard Berke rest in peace.

God i miss switching lenses when being reassigned.
Awesome lightbar!!!
Thank you for watching!
What an epic lightbar.
Jealous of that lightbar. May Howard Berke rest in peace.

Is this from Oregon state police? Kinda looks like there setup they had
I’d bet money on it. Since the office is in Oregon
Yes. Thanks for watching🚔😀
@@SIRENNET that's cool!
I wasn’t a fan of the edge series but over time they out lived the motors on the mx7000’s. They were great until they oxidized from the sun
When will the Whelen Edge finally be allowed to cu-nvm
