    ABOUT US
    We’re Adam and Elise, a couple who believes that adventure is the best therapy. We’ve climbed Africa’s Mt. Kilimanjaro in gale-force winds, hiked Iceland’s famed Laugavegur trail in a sleet-storm, and run through Death Valley in 130 degree heat. Through it all we’ve laughed, cried, bled, bickered, and grown ever closer as a couple. Live Hard x Love Hard will inspire you to get into the wild and outside your comfort zone.

    Good afternoon! This is awesome!! I really really enjoy going to Joshua Tree when I have a work trip to Palm Springs. I like it so much that even when I go to Orange County for work, I'll occasionally go to Joshua Tree for the day. Thank you for highlighting this hike; I'd love to do it on one of my trips there! The hiking is fabulous there, as is all of the scrambling that you can do! I'll arbitrarily stop the car and scramble the piles of rocks throughout the park.
    It is awesome to watch you two having so much fun together when doing outside activities! Your end of day run through the trees was spectacular!! The rock formations and trees are breath taking out there. But......no end of day swim :-( hehehe I know there really is no bodies of water out there.
    Safe travels

      @LiveHardxLoveHard  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, yeah you're right about the lack of lakes, but, as you already know, the scrambling makes it totally worth it! There's virtually nowhere else in the world that has such an incredible variety of different climbs and scrambles just a short walk from accessible parking places. It's really the place where we've perfected a lot of the climbing skills we use on some of the giant peaks in the Sierras.

    Joshua Tree is probably in my top 3 favorite national parks to explore! I 2nd that you must explore Lost Palms Oasis. You can actually summit Eagle mountain a backway through the canyons and find secret oases that aren't on the map. I have a video of my wife and I attempting the trek last winter. Ryan mountain is a great sunrise run for sure, almost ran into a rattlesnake at the top once. I'd also suggest Pinto mountain for a great day cross country peak to bag, I also have a video of that hike on my channel as well!

    Were there any segments to the H of H that were roofed over? That would distinguish between tectonic caves and simple tectonic cracks. A well known pair of these are up in Pinnacles National Monument. Nearby Anza-borrego meanwhile has some soil piping or mudstone caves you'd probably like and even I think potential for discoveries on remote ridgetops.
    On another note, wondering if your songs are available anywhere for download, whether for fee or free...

      Yes Ed! You have to go -- J-tree is so underrated, and the Hall of Horrors is one of the coolest rock formations you will ever adventure in, on, around, and through. We wore trail runners for this adventure (which were perfect for Ryan Mountain), but if we were doing it again we would wear our approach shoes because there was some pretty intense rock scrambling on the Hall of Horrors formation. The grippiness of approach shoes would have been perfect there, and they would have done fine on Ryan Mountain. There's just so much great bouldering and rock scrambling in J-tree--you really can't go wrong with approach shoes.

      There are a few different hall type areas in that formation -- including one that's easy to find but only about half as long and cool as the one we show here. Part of what's neat about the area is the need to really explore it.
