It's been a minute since I've actually played kenshi, but I think you might be able to fix the aimless issue by having: Job 1: Mine copper Job 2: Haul to copper storage Having a dedicated task for hauling to storage can be pretty important when you've got a larger base. Sometimes I'll even make a character's sole job be emptying out various production sites and hauling to storage just so other crafters and laborers stay where they're most effective.
Thank you very much for the tip, didn't expect to exist such a job just to carry stuff away, my problem is I think once they carry it away they become aimless. Will definitely try your tip for sure.
