Test rode one... so much fun! From a Livewire One owner.

After riding both, I definitely referred the riding experience of the Del Mar. Any regrets on your purchase of the One in retrospect?

@@ulteriormoto No regrets, as I do like the seating/ergos on the Livewire One. Also the safety features are more robust… although I LOVED the Del Mar with its much improved switch housing

Two things about the One that put me off were the loud whine from the motor and what I assumed was a simulated engine vibration. Which safety features are you referring to?

I just can't stop staring at the guy in the white tshirt, why are his feet pointing so far out... has he EVER ridden a motorbike before ? 🤣

He must have had an M license, but otherwise he just seemed to wander up and ask to ride. They had to give him a helmet and a pair of pants. As I rode behind him I was doing my best to remember my First Aid and CPR training.

I'd like to buy, but Harley Davidson just keeps spewing corporate nonsense when asked to state a release date for the reservation holders. They were supposed to release in March and have barely got the 100 first editions out there and they simply won't say anything about when we can expect ours except for the glad handing, back slapping platitudes you expect from a senile corporation.

Just got my Del Mar launch edition. Was told it will be a couple more months until the production bikes are rolling out

That sounds incredibly frustrating. You have to wonder what the demo tour is about if it’s not about selling bikes.

@@ulteriormoto frankly and discouragingly I have had a total of 4 test drives on a Livewire. One when it was HD at a dealership, twice LW1s off the corporate truck tour, and one Delmar off the corporate truck. Not one time after the test rides did anybody approach me and ask for the sale. At the Delmar test, I pointed this out to Livewire management and then I was asked if I wanted to buy one. Meanwhile another guy who rode beside me just left and nobody asked him. I immediately put down a deposit. So, if I only sold 3000 bikes in 4 years and had a huge semi running around demonstrating this underperformer, I’d sure as hell have my staff and my agents asking any interested customer if they will buy one. Not the Motor Company though, they expect their brand to sell itself.

No one asked me either. They only asked what I thought of it. I had scheduled a One test ride months ago and when I showed up I was ignored. I asked for the salesman I scheduled with, they called him over the PA, and he never showed. I went out to my bike and started gearing up and found him BSing with his friend about his Grom. I left in disgust. Thanks, H-D of San Jose.

So, Aventura HD (Miami) had the Livewire truck there which was supported by two factory Livewire employees. They knew me and knew I was a reservation holder, so they gave me a nice long sleeve LW tee shirt.
Again though, there were a number of people in my test ride on both LW1s and S2s and nobody asked then if they would like to buy one or put a deposit down. Again, they only asked "what did you think of it" or "did you like it?" I find this very surprising because HD has honed their game in terms of pushing sales over the past century. Rule one... always ask for the sale.
Given their quarterly results and further softening of sales and profit, and Zeitz's word salad newspeak about "a challenging macro and consumer backdrop" you would think pushing sales is Job 1. It's very disappointing and really letting down the Livewire development team@@ulteriormoto

The use case is so narrow, I get it.
