Jason & the rest of the godfathers of late 80's-90's SoCal skating scene need to do a podcast or a documentary. It really was the pinnacle of skating. The music, the art it was the best!I could listen to Jason talk OS skate stories all day.
Old school skating was the best. It's still great now, but back then it was so underground and new and fresh. One reason I'm so thankful for TH-cam is all the old classic uploads of tapes I used to have.
Love-love ^.^ keep doing this FOREVER!! I love to listen to u guys an Jason as I fall asleep!! Kinda like those Ryan Reynolds bedtime stories?? You guys are very delicious to my ears as I drift off.. ps plum wine with a dash of white grape juice is amazing *.* top ramen with a egg in it..ect..
Remember s#!++ing my pants when I saw Mallrats and this Guy is the Star, just a few years after being the 100% video by Sonic Youth... I was 17 in 1991 and definitely new of Blind, The Gonz and the one and only Jason Lee... loved his Buzzard skull deck. Thouht it was up there with Jim Thiebaud"s hanging Klansman deck.
I own all four of those boards. I'm 50 now, but yeah I had parents that let me buy boards to collect. I've never skated them. I have a lot of *first gen and all the ones after that" tony hawk boards (used) too. My neighbor had the first Tony hawk board and it drove me to collect boards from skateboarders I liked.
I didn't leave home 'till late into my thirties. My relationship with my parents is amazing now. Let me do anything, but I was reserved and loved art... More like explicit art. The Grinch smoking a joint. That's why I collect all this.
I remember blind. I went "think" blind was an awesome skateboard but it broke in a week. it was like the lightest thing ive ever skated it was like japanese maple or something on autobahns and royal trucks. I went ricta element. but didnt enjoi it as much. it wasnt my type of habitat. I felt alienated in a workshop. zero pain but needed a hookups. lol.
He may be the first to figure out Rog spikes the Pellegrino. . .j/k ::::.can you imagine if a conversation between Jason Lee and Mike V was filmed in 2022? DAYUM
Love how he still speaks highly of Mr Gonzales.
