On Monday my youth pastor that i have never met before(havent gone to church in 5 years) shows up at my school and made me notice i wanna love God just like my friends do. And i dont know how. Can you guys please pray for me?

I will say that I LOVE songs like this. Its a beautiful song so if you ARENT religious you can still enjoy it. If you are you can hear the significance in the lyrics. All in all a VERY clever way to make music. With a heavily religous friend Iove songs like this we can both enjoy. When I think of this song I smile

I met them about 5 years ago after a concert in portland, me and someone asked them about being a christian band and the lead guitarist Bo corrected her and said they're not a christian band, they're a band of christians... big difference... awesome band!
He's describing the feeling when the god of the universe sets his sight upon him and presses his face against him and he is comsumed by the fire and hears the voice and feels the presence of HIM within in his heart... had it been a love song for anything other than, it would of been full of sorrow being that the thing he loves is gone or out of reach. However it is for the one who loves him, he's just reassuring HIM that he is waiting. Just a fact.
Songs are open to different interpretations. What associations 'Something Beautiful' invokes in me are those isolated moments off a hiking trail; moments of clarity. But maybe I am talking about a moment with a divine being? I personally could never feel comfortable with or close to a god in a structured worship setting.

I knew the moment that I heard it that it was a Christian song. Maybe you'd have to have been Christian songs most of your life, but it screamed "God" to me and I'd never even heard these guys before.

The merit I find in Christianity is its ability to encourage us to love as we ought by focusing on an external, "supernatural being." I lost my faith in miracles and mighty works long ago. These are not things that we can prove, and I am skeptical of them. But what I still believe in, as a former Methodist, are these things: faith, hope, and love--the glory of man, and his ability to make the Earth a paradise.
Yes....except NeedtoBreathe played at the christian concert winter jam, they play their music on multiple christian radios, this song was on Wow Christian Hits 2012, and the band mates spoke at winter jam about how this was a song about wanting to give up in life but falling down on your knees and accepting god into your life....just saying
A lot of Christian rock songs are like that. It's a major flaw of the genre, not because of any inherent problem with that style, but because it saps originality and artistic merit by making so many songs seem the same. Some bands (NeedtoBreathe, of course!) manage to make it work, though - and of course it makes for more universal appeal.
Just because they are a christian band, doesn't mean every song has to do with god... I am Buddhist, I come from a a pretty strict christian/catholic family, but luckily my parents are open to alot of things, I still believe in god, but I choose to be Buddhist. I'm not listening to this song because of god, I'm listening to this song because I simply enjoy this song.
