I not, my laptop only run the game in super low at 40 maximum fps so never had dust problems.

I'm always playing in the highest graphic, and I'm doing fine, the dust only brings immersion to me, which make me kinda better (I have a pretty beefy pc so it's always above 40 FPS)

How to be better: just always watch your minimap and play the game with in-game audio on. Some people can't see or hear the enemy right next to them, even it's been spotted.
Exactly, I have literally never had to touch my settings to lower stuff to get better and I consistently get good amounts of kills and games.

@@mok822 if you but all 5 branch camo on does it give any benefit at all on Arcade..?. I heard they can't see your id tags until 100 or so meters with branch camo in arcade..
In high tier air battles it is sometimes desirable to have particle density turned up to spot AAMs since they leave a particle trail for part of their flight
Hmm does the smoke trail dissapear completly with particle density turned off?
@@Gameplaym0ments Not completely, but it's much less visible. In Air RB though it doesn't matter, since for the part of the missile's flight when the trail is visible, the missile marker is also visible.

Sight distance control is a must, because it doesn't just fixes the sight at a set distance, but the most important thing it does is huge. It compensates for side to side inclination when your sight is not completely level the round will diviate in the direction of the inclinaton, but sight distance control removes this variable from your shot.
For the "Set target for squadron" Option I use "Alt" + "V"(Only "V" for scouting), and I realised that if you mark a enemy Tank for your Squad it will also scout the enemy for everyone(Only if used through Binos and Scopes), while when you mark a random place on the map it does not block your scouting ability like it normally would if you try to scout in the middle of nowhere. I dont know why it happens, but I dont complain, it saves a button press.
Been playing since beta and I have to say, I'm somewhat embarrassed that I never really implemented these kinds of settings. I followed your guide and played a match and wow, it's like night and day. Had a great battle. A couple of things I noticed: Change screen resolution. I had mine at a smaller setting, but changed it to what you have in the video, and wow it really opens up your view. Secondly, I can't believe I didn't know about cruise control. I'm that poor sap who's been pressing "w" for the last 8 years. Also, particle density...you literally changed my game. Can't thank you enough.

you should use Q and E for left/right track braking, it's much more useful for turning at high speeds and gives you a significant edge once you get used to using them. It's also useful when you need to do a quick 180, it's far faster than using the regular turning method.
I just replace A and D for left and right track braking, and use Q and E for steering on wheeled vehicles and neutral steering. Thanks for the info
I set Q and E to rangefinder and active scouting and if I were to set the left/right brakes to A and D, then I would have to change the controls for wheeled vehicles or for vehicles with neutral steer. It would be really nice if you could set controls layouts for different vehicles and/or set up the steering to always do braked turns on tracked vehicles, yet still allow neutral steering.

Excellent video, just wanted to let you know that the black crocodile decal in the German Navy tab is what I use on all my vehicles. Scaled up, i think its the best decal for camo use. Breaks up the silhouette of a tank in sunlight.

13:19 Speed of sound actually is the simulation in the game of the time that it takes for every sound to hit you, so for example turned on bombs that you just dropped may sound later than you see them explode (simulating real life). Is just esthetic or immersion preference

i also recommend using white tail smoke if engaging enemys because the white smoke looks like water leak, the enemy plane might think your damaged and thinks your an easy target (sorry for bad english im polish)
Huge tips bro, I've been playing since 2013 and I use almost all these settings, in terms of graphics, I prefer HQ TAA, the game is visually more beautiful with smoother edges.
Thank you so much for the recommendation of changing the anti aliasing to HQ FXAA, i had it on the highest and was horrible at spotting enemies. But now that i follow your example im getting much more kills and spot enemies much faster! Thanks again!
Story Time about Shadows and how they twice saved my life in game.
1. Me in tank going vroom shooting things, notice big Phantom-y shadow going over me, quick response driving away from that spot. A Phantom sneaked up on me with its engines turned off and dropped bombs, but seeing the shadow gave me a tiny bit of extra time to evade
2. Me in tank again going vroom shooting things, notice helicopter shadow pass by, turn around, see Heli in a bit of distance trying to go around the map who just passed infront of the sun. He dead thanks to that

I always have the "blocking of vertical aiming while braking" on as I main French and German tanks. It's super useful on tanks with unstable guns and suspension, or oscillating turrets. It's even more helpful if you have a poor skill gunner. It essentially stops your gunner from trying to catch up with your hull rocking backwards and forwards when you stop, and is useful if you're trying to rock your tank back and forth to get an extra degree of gun depression in a hill fight.
Kinda wish xbox (like me) and playstation gamers had more privileges and in game content such as this. Kind of a shame really as 9 times out of 10 we are the first to be killed and used as easy money and rp farms

Thanks for sharing, definitely appreciate the tips like particle density, also have played now for 5 years. A few points of great importance 'Tree range' in graphics. This is not only for trees but also how far away enemy vehicles are rendered. Always max this level even if it costs a few FPS. Next setting is anti aliasing, a few years ago (i think it was mikegoesboom) shared that he disabled software anti aliasing , and uses a Nvidia feature called DSR (dynamic super resolution) which is HW based super sampling . This does something similar to SSAA (super sampling), but my FPS drops to 40FPS or worse even with a GTX1060 with SSAA on. I set a DSR factor in the Nvidia settings of 1.78, and set my resolution in WT to 2560x1600 (my monitor native res is 1920x1200). Then disable all anti aliasing. There are sometimes some jaggies, but the FPS is minimally affected and when flying CAS it's much easier to see a vehicle at distances of 1km+ as the outline is clearer. SW based AA smooths everything too much I find.

To select the machine gun also have another advantage if you have a tank with the gun mounted high up, you can drive in behind a wall or a rock that cover the tank but not the top or machine gun, then you can peak over the wall and be ready to shoot all fast cars that have no good protection.

everyone says to max out enemies engine sounds, but no one ever told me to LOWER MY ENGINE SOUND. That was the biggest help.

Another way to improve your *SKILL* is overload an internet connection during map loading phase to prevent some textures appearance (like bushes).
I'd suggest making the mouse wheel bound to sight distance control instead of zoom.
I'd also suggest unbinding tracking camera/target from RMB

I quit this game back in 2017 part of the old guard crew as well and just recently started playing again, this video helped me tweak my settings thank you so much, everything is much better now. What is not better is my gameplay, used to be really good, usually top 3 in each match but now nowhere near and feel awful very frustrating, do you happen to have a similar guide but on learning the game ?.

I use Q for Rangefinding/squad ping, so if I see an enemy and want to know the range, it'll place a squad ping for me to then ping the map to alert my team there's something around there.

Sup Zakka, i really want to thank you for this amazing content, most of those tips were things i found with experience over years of gameplay but there is some really important thing i need to mention if you are looking for better experience overall.
First of all please for the love of god, turn off the f*cking camera from gunners sight from settings -> Main parameters -> Ground vehicle battle settings -> camera from gunners sight. I don't know how but i played like that for almost one and an half year and it was terrible. I had to use same off-center realistic sh*t gun shit from sim that shoots from right side or left side (depending on your every singe different tank) in even arcade and realistic matches. If you have a similar problem go check that out bud.
When it comes to sights i need to mention few important things as well, I highly recommend using a custom sight with a rangefinder for everyone. Not everyone is phlydaily and sort ranges of enemy just by vision or your tank don't have a proper rangefinder. I really really recommend if you face similar nations and similar tanks since determing range is simple as lining two lines over enemy tank. If you don't want to setup or use custom sights, i also highly recommend switching to short sight from settings -> Main parameters -> Common battle settings -> Use alternative sight grid and select short gird sight from there. You don't really need 6km scope on your m18, it sometimes blocks your vision in aa or tanks with high zoom.
And two more personal preferences for me is choosing Controls -> Ground vehicles -> Camera control -> Mouse wheel(ground vehicles) setting to sight control. Setting up sight distance control is fine but just using mouse wheel is far more handful and other one is binding binos to right mouse button since i don't want to reach "B" key every time i want to open binos.

Wow pc players have a major advantage over console players, such as myself. We are stuck at max graphics while pc players can purposely turn their settings down and almost cheat in a way. I got sniped on sands of sinai in the desert area. I had the dust particles and the pc player that shot me was across the map. He saw me where i couldnt see him. Console players cant change the graphics settings.
Dude that sucks. I hope you find some way to get around it.

the addition of support for ray tracing capable cards some new settings have appeared and dramatically change the look and feel of the game. You should do an update to highlight these new features as they can dramatically change the outcome of a match.

i honestly wish there was a way to turn up the exposure a ton. i wanna be able to be competitive in this game and it still look somewhat good.
All I need to do is get the target sightnto stop auto targeting. It will bounce between environmental targets, making you miss your target or be unable to shoot just because the sight suddenly locks on a hill side or fence. It's ridiculous.

Man! Now I see why I'm getting my rear handed to me by some computer players. I can't tweak graphics settings on the PS4 so I'm behind the 8-ball quite a bit from the looks of it.
So that's how other have such good sight from far especially on maps like Sinai
Seems the sand clouds on Sinai and other ground desert maps are unaffected by the particle density meter in Graphics settings after the Winged Lions update release. I am seeing sand haze even with particle density at the lowest/off.
