I m an Organ player in Church of North India..... and I love hymns .... God bless you and use u more for His kingdom..... I play this song in Church before Christmas... but whole year I can hear it with piano bcoz of you...thank yu so much for making and giving dis song ... God bless
Thank God, for returning me home well, after surgery and time in hospital. God bless all those wonderful staff, much appreciated. Plz pray for me everybody. There's parts of my body still needs healing, particularly my left leg. Praises to the Lord. Thankyou so much. Its still so good to come back here and get more inspiration !! Truly uplifting .
I like this hymn very much. Especially when I can hear clearly every word sung, and with a not so overpowering music accompaniment. The piano melody is just right for me. And the many scenery added that extra sense of awe and inspiration. God bless.
Thank you so much for your comments. I haven't known this hymn for very long and now it is one of my favourites, especially this arrangement sung by Richard Jensen. So quiet and gentle and yet a powerful message. God bless!
I have always enjoyed listening to this advent hymn, and singing it, ever since I first sung it in a school choir in 1971 in the UK. It reminds us of the precious hope that we have as we remember the first coming of Christ Jesus, when He came to save us from the darkness of sin through His death on the cross, followed by His glorious resurrection through which we no longer need fear death because we can now have eternal life in Him. And of course the words of this hymn inspire us to look forward to that great day when He will return a second time. My prayer is that we will be those looking for His coming again, and this wonderful hymn, that is so well sung, along with the beautiful and creative photography is a wonderful aid and inspiration to do just that! Thank you so much for all who arrange this recording.
A very deep meaning filled song indeed !!!!! I remember that as a student of 4th grade & attending the Sunday School at Methodist Church, Secunderabad, India, this was our theme song sung by all the children from various churches gathered to attend the grand Finale at St. John's Church. How beautifully & grand it sounded then. Now whenever I hear this song, tears roll down my cheeks.coz thise good old days r all gone, never to return. Now I am83 yrs old.
BEAUTIFUL! I love this hymn, but this is the best rendition I have ever heard! The low, rich tone of the lead singer makes all the difference to me. I get goose bumps!
I sang this in church today. I found it very pleasing, with it's odd musical arrangement. Our third verse was different, about meeting God in the air, the rapture naturally. Great photography btw.
What a lovely arrangement! Found it by accident but so glad I did. Very moving especially the lovely voice with very clear diction which makes a big difference. Many thanks.
Thanks so much Kevin. So glad you found it. I have 3 more Richard Jensen videos and you can listen, and download, lots more songs from his page on Bandcamp. Link is listed under this video. God bless, Dawn
Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition. The only problem is that I can't listen to it without my eyes filling with tears! I'm going to use it in an on-line advent calendar I'm preparing for my church. God bless you.
Thank you so much, William, for your comments on this hymn. When I discovered that it was written so long ago and learned how people all through the ages have looked for His coming, I prayed that I could convey the feeling that He is just at the door. A beautiful hymn that has blessed me a lot, and I love that it blesses you also.
All my life I've heard this hymn sung by large choirs at Christmastime, never really making out the words but absolutely associating it with the Lord's first Advent. Now I learn, it's really about His second! How did it come to be a Christmas staple? I'm in love with this video!
Thanks Marty for your comment. This hymn is fairly new to me and I didn't realise it is a popular Christmas hymn. It is wonderful to me that back in the 1700's people were looking forward to the Lord's return. Blessings to you.
1. Lo! he comes with clouds descending, once for favored sinners slain; thousand, thousand saints attending swell the triumph of his train. Alleluia! Alleluia! God appears on earth to reign. 2. Ev'ry eye shall now behold him, robed in dreadful majesty; those who set at naught and sold him, pierced, and nailed him to the tree, deeply wailing, deeply wailing, shall the true Messiah see. 3. Ev'ry island, sea, and mountain, heav'n and earth, shall flee away; all who hate him must, confounded, hear the trump proclaim the day: Come to judgment! Come to judgment! Come to judgment, come away! 4. Now Redemption, long expected, see in solemn pomp appear! All his saints, by man rejected, now shall meet him in the air. Alleluia! Alleluia! See the day of God appear! 5. Yea, amen! let all adore thee, high on thine eternal throne; Savior, take the pow'r and glory, claim the kingdom for thine own. O come quickly, O come quickly; alleluia! come, Lord, come.
As an orgainist, I prefer to hear this hymn sung with organ accompanied by the organ. HOWEVER, this version though accompanied simply on the piano is very beautiful.
Powerful. Powerful lyrics. Set forth so clearly, they make the story so real, so near. I have always loved the great organs sending this music forth, but this piano version is exquisitely beautiful. Plus the photos are wonderful.
This is a nice hymn. Funny how it uses the word "rapture" despite being written before 1820. I guess it means something different than we usually think of that word.
0:34 Subtitles are a bit behind, so hear the words before being able to know what to sing. It does that a few times. Awesome song/hymn - I want Jesus to come back NOW...
Yes, Lloyd, some of them are a bit slow. Sometimes it is difficult to fit the words with the timing of the song. So glad you love the hymn as I do. God bless.
I'm guessing that "rapture" in this context means excitement. This song was written about a century before dispensational theology came into existence.
openhymnal.org/Pdf/Lo_He_Comes_On_Clouds_Descending-Helmsley.pdf I don't have an instrument to be able to check if this is the same tune, although it looks good to me.
I wish that this young person would throw away his microphone, clear his throat a couple of times and really SING as if he meant it! Sing as if he was singing about Majesty! Glory! and a thousand Saints attending! I get so sick of this hushy stuff. It might be OK for a Romantic Ballad that he is singing with a guitar under a tree on the college lawn, but it does not quite do justice to th e Coming of Christ!
Yes...we will Go to Him ...and to be with Him forever....we'll never Get back... it's our precious HOPE...Thank him for this Greatest Gift....
Amen!!

perfect rendition.may the lord prepare the world to meet him as his coming is very very near.

Amen! And a message of encouragement for our times as well. God bless!
Absolutely Glorious!!!

One of my favorite version of this ever.
I absolutely agree.

Is there anyway to find this in a version I can purchase?
"Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him." -Revelation 1:7
And I don't think He is very far away
Awesome song truly what a day it will be
Amen to that!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and touching hymn. The reassurance of our hope for those who believe in Christ. Can't stop listening.
Amen! Even though written so long ago, we still need to remember to "look up".
God bless you brother.....
Thank you!

It would have been very nice to have been there! Bless you.
Thank you for sharing this. Finding truth in music is hard these days. I really needed this.
You're so welcome! God bless.

An absolutely profound rendering of my favorite hymn!! The one requested hymn I’d like at my funeral.
Yes, it is a wonderful hymn and I'm so thankful for it. God bless!
This song, it's addictive ! I have to listen to it twice. 😆
It certainly is a blessing - thank you!

Thank you for your kind words, Dawn - wishing you a very happy Christmas and a new year full of blessings!
Thank you. Likewise for you!
Many thanks Dawn.
It is indeed a lovely hymn that leads us to worship Jesus Christ, whom we love so dearly. Grace and peace to you.
Many blessings to you also Gareth, as we look forward to His coming.

Beautiful, worshipful. The hymn truly uplifts Jesus in all His glory at His appearing. You presented it with due respect.
Thank you. It means a lot to me also.
Its just beautiful. :)
Thank you for your kind comment. I really enjoy Richard Jensen's version of this lovely old hymn.
Beautiful!!!!

This is one of my favorite hymns as a chorister.
How uplifting it must be to be a chorister, especially singing hymns like this one. God bless you and keep up the good work!
As an orgainist, I prefer to hear this hymn sung with organ accompanied by the organ. HOWEVER, this version though accompanied simply on the piano is very beautiful.
To hear this hymn played on the organ must be inspiring, but, as you have said, this version is beautiful, and, I think, very personal.
I'm also an organist.... N I Love this song with organ... bless you all...
My best song ever
It sure is a song for our times. Bless you!
Blessed I am
As are we all, amen!
Amen, prepare Your Bride and come Lord Jesus!🙏🏻
Amen!

I have never heard the great organs play this hymn. If I did I think I would have a very wet face! Thank you for your comments Barbara. God bless you.
This is a nice hymn. Funny how it uses the word "rapture" despite being written before 1820. I guess it means something different than we usually think of that word.
Yes indeed. "with what rapture, gaze we on those glorious scars!" Thank you for bringing my attention to that word.

Thank you for watching Shellie. God bless.
Disappointing. The lyrics demand a loud robust tune, not the praise band version.

Thank you for your patience to watch the video and discover God's mercy over all of us God bless you abundantly
