Superb performance from such a small ensemble of very talented, well coordinated and balanced voices. Applause indeed and please keep up the good work.
I think Grace Davidson sang with, and did soli for, Eric Whitacre & The Eric Whitacre Singers !! Such an amazing voice ! This entire ensemble is fabulous...we're learning this piece now in my small Cappella Choir. Thanks for sharing this !!
Some singers are very still, others move a lot. An ensemble should unify their posture on stage. Singing sacred music in a church demands a more reverent outlook, specially on how you hold the scores.
Then you simply know nothing about singing and feeling what you are singing with a passion for the music. This is a superb rendition and they sang it with feeling. You are obviously a dinosaur and will hopefully one day also become extinct.
mickypoo4622 No, he’s right...there’s a performance practice to early music and that’s what it is, it’s near complete stillness. It’s obvious he studied the subject, so yes he DOES know what he’s talking about. This isn’t bad by any means but not quite right. The emotion in early music is found in the music and vocals itself, not by “chewing the scenery” so to speak. To move any more than what they’re already doing would be stylistically incorrect, and lack of movement doesn’t necessarily equal lack of feeling. My biggest beef here is overage of vibrato, which there needs to be none or at least next to none.
Da Victoria's sounds seem to come from the sky and this chorus reproduces them with a touching perfection. Wonderful.
Beautiful bass voice, Jimmy Holiday! Good to hear you actually sing and not hold back.

@@jenniferhiemstra5228 I love the vibrato and the fact that they're singing "out" with the full color of their voices, especially the bass.
