  • Dan Gable is the winningest college wrestling coach of all time, amassing 21 Big 10 Titles in 21 years, and 15 NCAA titles during that same time. As a wrestler, he won the 1972 Olympics without surrendering a point and built a 181-1 record through high school and college, losing his last collegiate match to Larry Owings.
What an honor it was to chat with the Goat among Goats.

Great interview with the living legend Dan Gable but I know for a fact there was actually a hell of a lot of partying going on with a lot of the Iowa wrestlers back in the late 70’s. As it was well known that most of the Iowa wrestlers were big time partygoers as far back as 1978, so it wasn’t something that just started later on. But I guess as long as they were winning it did not seem to be a big issue lol!

I don't understand why this has so few views. This is a great podcast with a great name--& you got Dan Gable on it. I wish Dan was on podcasts in 2008; better late than never

Please do a Part 2 podcast with Eddie Banach. That guy had me literally in TEARS at some of his stories and THE HYSTERICAL WAY HE TELLS THEM!
I loved when he mimicked LewBoo’s voice, “Hey Eddie, Waddya gonna do?”
Please get him on for another hour, that guy is the absolute BEST storyteller!
I’d love to hear Barry Davis on a full show too, he’s my favorite Hawkeye of all time and a certifiable nut in a fun way! ❤️
