Amazing how many memories this stirs up. I was around 15 (1985) when I used to play this alone in dining room. The rest of the family watching TV in the living room. Or they were out. I'm 45 in a couple months. Crazy.
It was MEGA great... My brother and me loved it... And the whole atmosphere literally oozed with desert... The sand, the wind... Amazing stuff... This is a proof that photorealism is WAY overestimated...
I always loved the painful, slow motion death dive if you happen to get slightly clipped. That and having no landing pads available because they all got bombed or crashed into. I haven't played this game in 25 years but I can still hear the low fuel siren in my head.
Happy memories with this one, and all played with a joystick as well, no fancy multi-button controllers back in THESE days :) Hours of fun shust shooting things. Great video of a great game, thanks ;)
This was ACTUALLY the first game I copied from a cassette to a floppy disk. I only had 1 floppy disk at the time with my drive, so space was at a premium. But this was the first game I every copied to the disk. It was about 70 to 80 blocks if I remember correctly.
Loved this game! A new neighbour moved in next door to me when I was a child, and he had a ton of c64 games.. He let me pick one out and this is the game I chose from his vast collection. I remember being so happy that i picked such an awesome game, as there was a lot of rubbish games out there for the C64! This one is a gem!
Oh yeah I played this for hours in the 80's! I completely forgot about this game until I looked it up. You should have got hit or ran out of fuel to hear the cool sounds and the jet crashing. Man I need to get my C64 hooked back up. lol
I doubt they didn't know about smooth scrolling but didn't use it as most of the time the screen is scrolling too fast anyway, it sure doesn't make the gameplay any less enjoyable.
i still have the commodore 128D What i got in the end of the 80`s and i play it on my big screen with the home cinema surrounder with 6.1 and hahaha the sound that way its mutch mutch cooler and bring the memory totaly back! xD
Oh my goodness...I remember this specific sound while refilling the gas and ammo...I always tried to fly down to the streets and along the streets ...I m not sure if it was possible to destroy the houses by own fire (dont remember any more...tooo long ago :) )

jakubkrcma You’re right, photorealism take out fantasy! was very great days with this games, 43 years old here! 😊
SAME. Instant nostalgia. I'd forgotten all about it
i was 12
This is legendary game for all those born in early 70's...The sound of this game is unforgettable like C-64 as home PC in 80's
This was the first game I ever played on my C64. Christmas Day, 1983.
I believe that was my first game as well. Christmas as well. I think it was 1981 or 1982.
Oh shit the sound when you're landing and refilling oil is so nostalgic :D
EurocorpFx Shepard tone by the way! :)
oh man, thank you for posting this.
oh the good old days.
one of us is old enough to have played with Falcon Patrol... fond memories!
I was 8 when this came out and I played this to death. It’s the sound effects that transport me back to my bedroom
The first game i've played on my commodore 64, thank you for these good memories
Great game even now with the sequel perfecting what was laid down here and offering a more exciting experience
Watching this sure brought back memories. Loved playing this back in the day.
WOW, that jet seriously sounds realistic for a game this old! No joking! I gotta get a C64, the music is top notch as well!!
when i was kid i always wondered how scared all the ppl living in those houses were

I still remember the sound effects like it was yesterday. Choplifter was cool also.. There was hundreds of games I played. Disc drive and casette..
The first game I ever played on the C64. Christmas morning 1983. :)
Such a great game. In those days we enjoyed games really. Nowadays people only complain about graphics.
Happy memories with this one, and all played with a joystick as well, no fancy multi-button controllers back in THESE days :) Hours of fun shust shooting things. Great video of a great game, thanks ;)

One of the early games with realistic sound effects, filter and ringmod use.
Loved playing this game
This is the first game I ever played on my C64! Christmas Day 1983. Blimey.
Cool sound effects!
The jet engine sound is amazing. The programmers obviously didn't realise the C64 had hardware fine pixel scrolling, though..

GREAT memories!!
Fantastic game. Very cool to see it again.
Thanks for sharing.
Holy crap I remember this!!!! Also the Second Game FP II Both ace games ... ahhhhh so happy ;)
Think this was one of the very first C64 games I ever played .. had to wait a good 10 minutes for it to load :)
OMG!!! I've loved this game!!! Thank you for uploading!:)
Hi me! 14 years, huh? I tell I am doing fine, I know you too.
i still have the commodore 128D What i got in the end of the 80`s and i play it on my big screen with the home cinema surrounder with 6.1 and hahaha the sound that way its mutch mutch cooler and bring the memory totaly back! xD
Such a great game
Yes, great sounds in this game: SID low-pass filter does a really good jet engine :)
Another >10 years passed.

ooohhh my god... i loved that game.. :(
best game ever!!!
Memories
I LOVE C64 👍🥂🎩
so far I know the game ends if you lose all your ships. It seems to have a endlessloop.
Great Time
@tausendstein damn it me too, wasn'it for that sound i probably wouldn't have recognized it.
2019
I used to hate this game, but played it anyways because I didn't have a lot of games. I played it tonight and decided I'll never play it again.
I absolutely agree with Jointz77.
wow i had this on the zx spectrum
Who remembers the game "below the root"?
Nice!!! this game have a final level?
Great game, had some nice atmosphere but I missed it's kinda too simple. No mission, just flying and shooting but that was c64 and good old times :)
I ja sada vidim da je prejednostavna. Al u ono doba je djelovala nestvarno.
Falcon patrol might be necessary if enemy is bombing your city...
plays alot like the star wars game
crashing was the best
Very similar as Defender was.
strange ending?
I have this game on Commodore128D :) And i buy a good cabel and now i play it on my plasmatv :) Hehe Is it so cool!
Virgin Games? Well, way to patrol those falcons.
Is there an end to this game?
Najbardziej charakterystyczna gra na "komcia" :-)
Why did you cut the intro music? WHYYYYY? :(
decent. :)
Looks like Atari game
