I'd rather hear the noise of the bike & a bit of wind, than music. Music which is almost never something i'd choose to listen to. So although i would have watched the vid, cos it looked interesting. Because of the music i didn't. Maybe i'm in a tiny minority but hey ho. Hope you enjoyed the ride:)
Waking up must have been great with only the sound of bird song, perhaps my favourite sound, always makes me happy, and of course the sound of a motorcycle 😀
This man is living my dream. A great motorcycle, great gear, the open road, exploration, solitude and simply doing what you love. Keep it simple and enjoy life. It goes by too fast. As my father once said, die with memories, not regrets.
Makes me want to go motocamping......again. So love the classic!! I have a 25 year old Tiger but am thinking of getting an additional Triumph Bonnie of sorts. Love your vids, thanks for sharing.
Another fantastic bit of camera work Matt Great watching you set up camp....wish I could see rain again. Tasmania is suffering it's worst drought in decades Thanks again
Great video Matt. Loved the shot of you shaking the rain off the tarp. And big respect to you for camping in this country in the winter. You’re hardier than me!
Been looking forward to this one Matt love the way you braved the weather and camped the barmouth rail bridge is such a special structure and I never knew you could ride over it Another superb film thanks Matt
Glad you liked it Ian. I didn’t know motorcycles were allowed on it until a few years ago myself, I’ve been wanting to ride it since! I got lucky with there being nobody walking bridge, I imagine people who don’t know it’s allowed would get a bit irate 😁
Respect for capturing all that coverage while setting up camp in the rain, Matt. And you must have been thrilled to record all that birdsong the next morning - a lovely touch. I'm sure warm and dry days are coming....
Waking up to the sun and the birdsong made up for getting drenched the day before for sure. Still, I’m very much looking forward to more camping trips in the dry and warm weather when (if) it arrives 🤞
Perfect….a must do antidote for today’s ills; young lads should take note, learn and realise that real adventure is out there if they can break away from their iPads. I’d be guessing somewhere between Dolgellau & Barmouth? You can forgive a bit of rain in Wales, I guess. If only I were a bit younger I’d be doing the same. Great idea setting up the tarp for the bike and extra cover. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Nigel, glad you liked it. It’s good to detach from the internet for a while, camping in places where you have no choice is a great way to do it I think. Yes you’re right, the campsite is called Cefn Coed and is just a bit west of Dolgellau, along the estuary coast.
Quel courage de rouler et de faire du camping avec un temps pareil. Il n'y a qu'une seule explication, faut être anglais. A part ça, belle vidéo bien sympathique et une belle moto idéale pour la ballade tranquille. Bravo.
Good ride and camp. Nice on the shoreline. Fast setup for dry cover. Camera work getting better all the time. Welcome spring. Safe rides. Good watching with my new knee . Make some more.
Bloodyhell Matt that’s brave going down that bank to where you pitched the Tent ⛺️ bloody rain, felt for you there miserable weather 😮 going across that first bridge looked narrow … the scenery was beautiful and brilliant riding and filming again Atb phil
That hill was a bit sketchy to be fair, was a lot steeper than it looked on camera too 😁 Even though the weather was rubbish it was good to get the first camp of the year done.
Fair play to you Matt, that was a fair distance in the elements, I’ve not got going yet. Will let you know when I’m coming up your way when the weather is warmer.
I have to leave a comment! It is such a nice video and paired in such a good way with the music - especially some scenes with a beat! It fulled me with such a joy but also with some spiritual melancholy in a good way. And the shot with the stars is amazing! It worked so well with the scene - so tasty! Thank you for sharing your view of the world and adventures with the rest of us! All the best from Croatia! 🤙🤗
@@ClassicRidesEnjoyed the video. I thought itbwas here in NZ at first. What tent is it please. Looks perfect for quick pitching up and down , especially when it's raining. Thanks.
Great video Matt, my favourite place, we stay in Penmaenpool for a couple of weeks every year not far from the George III. Haven't found that campsite yet😊
It’s called Cefn Coed, a little pricey for a “wild” campsite but the owners seem decent and it’s nice that it’s not just an empty field kind of campsite
Nice one. Cozy. A tarp really helps in those rain situations. I don’t have one and I’d probable struggle putting it up. You need to be in a wooded area I presume to find trees and branches to attach the lines to? You forgot the cheese 🧀 for your burger! 🍔
The burger already had cheese built into it 👌 The tarp is tricky to put up on your own without nearby trees, but it’s definitely possible. I use the bike as a ‘lean-to’ for the first pole, then I can put up the other pole and reposition the bike once the tarp is up. Worth the effort when the weather’s a bit rubbish.
Hello Matt, greetings from France, great video, wonderful pictures, amazing landscape, must come over sometime. I wonder if you could share a reference to the tent, I would be pleased, cheers and bon voyage for your next trip, Frank
I don't think I'd be up for doing this in real life, but you make it look easy - and this way I don't have to suffer without my flushing toilet and sleep apnea machine ;)
Fair enough, having decent equipment helps a lot, even then I wouldn’t make a habit of camping when I know the weather will be bad, once in a while is fine though 🙂

Crikey! Fair play for getting out, I guess it’s just a case of getting yourself out of winter slumber…………I must make more of an effort 😊. I didn’t know Barmouth rail bridge was back open and were you able to purchase the wood for the fire at the site. Enjoyed watching and hopefully it’ll galvanise me into action😂
If I wait for it to stop raining I guess I’ll never get out these days 😁. Yes the wood was available from the campsite, in fact you’re not allowed to gather your own from the wooded area due to local council rules on moisture content on logs for burning 🙄.
Hi Matt absolutely lovely video….One small question mate have you ever got into a situation of a flat tyre as its tube spoke??? and how do you handle it on places you travel???…i got my t120 with Kineo wheel tubeless but costed me a bomb
Yes I got three punctures in my first summer with the bike 😁 It's a total nightmare as the bike needs to be transported to somewhere that can fix it. I usually carry a spare tube with me, but still it's the only thing I worry about with the bike. I'd love to get some Kineo's, but as you know they're very expensive so I might go for some KKE wheels instead at some point.
It's raining Matt, go home, you'll catch your death. Ok, I'll admit, grudgingly, that there's something nice about listening to the rain fall as the fire crackles away, but that's why wood burners were invented, so you can do it indoors.
