great presentation and very interesting. i am a former reenactor from the mid- late 1960"s. you are probably the 3-best experts of the battle of gettysburg. about 30 years ago i was at devils den when a park ranger came along with a group of students. we were at the sharpshooters den looking at the iconic photo of the dead confederate soldier. the park ranger commented that the body was not bloated or showed signs of decomposition. he also added that this could of been staged by brady and that the soldier was a known resident of gettysburg who was assisting brady. just and FYI for you all. I also have 2-other fyi's for you. the photo taken on july 3 1938 at THE HIGH WATER MARK is of a confederate veteran reaching over the wall shaking hands with union veterans. there is a young lad in the background wearing a white t-shirt and baggy trousers. He was from Westminster, Md. and was at Gettysburg with his parents for the festivities. he was 13-14 yrs. old. I was a reenactor with his son who informed me that this was his father. I asked his father at a later time and he informed me that yes this was him and at the time didn't even know that the photo was taken.

when i was in high school in the late 1960's i had a friend tell me that he had an ancestor who was a close personal friend of Abe Lincoln. He knew I was a reenactor and I thought he was just making it up, not knowing whether to believe it or not. In later years I found out about Ward Lamon being Lincolns assistant. Interesting. And my friends last name, "Lamon"! Just another FYI.

Great job and it's wonderful to hear from William Frasanito, I purchased his books years ago and am still entranced by his work.

Hey I think what would make your museam more fascinating is if you researched the rifles the units used in the battle at gettysburg,so people could see what there relatives used

My fiance, who is also from Texas. And myself. I am a Pennsylvanian. Always run into people from Texas when in Gettysburg. She loves it there.

Very nice interview, but if anyone can belabor a topic with trivial asides it is William Frassanito. For him, a simple answer requires a doctoral dissertation-length response, most of which mundanely dances around the topic and is self-serving to a ridiculous degree (my book ...my book...my discovery ... I discovered... interestingly enough ... interestingly enough ...interestingly enough). Humility is not his strong point. Otherwise, good work!
