+6:30 You are correct it does look like Han Solo's blaster as it is the same base gun a Mauser C-96 The Han Solo version added a flash suppressor style muzzle end and a telescopic sight. It is an amazingly old gun it first came out in 1896 (127 years old). early versions were loaded with stripper clips of bullets from the top and this was then later revised to include a removable magazine instead. It also has a longer barrel Carbine version and is stored in it's own stock which plugs into the back on some version. It was used as an officer side arm or vehicle crew weapon during World War II as an alternative to iconic the Luger P-08 which in turn was replaced by the Walther P-38 (these days known as the Man From Uncle Gun or as the alt mode of Generation One Transformers Megatron). The Mauser also appears in various videogames over the years too. Ubisoft often get teased for including it a lot of other WWII German guns in a lot of their games i would presume they included it as a nod to the Cobra Trooper designs being based largely on those on WWII German uniforms. it also perhaps could be seen as the "thematic opposite" for of a 'Colt 1911' Pistol which Hasbro sometimes includes with Gi Joe characters too.
Can’t wait to get mine, got 6 coming in from Target and one from Hasbro Pulse which hit the wallet pretty hard. Never had any Python Patrol as a kid, stopped collecting these by the time they made PP but since I didn’t have them as a kid I made sure I have 7 of each army builder.
british sterling sub machine guns have side loaded magazines. It has advantages but its mainly not done anymore cause it makes the gun unbalanced and a snag hazard while shoulder slung. The British quickly dumped them once the mp5 came out for their special forces I believe.
It crossed my mind that they can perhaps do another officer version based on the other colour of colours Python Patrol often are.. or even the much much later 4th colour. That would be OK for a Python Patrol Stinger Pilot and it might be nice to use the Trooper mould or appropriately juggled parts to make a Python Patrol Trooper/Infantry based on the deco of one of the others so that would be Black and Magneta like the Rock Viper / Laser Viper / Heat Viper colouring or grey and yellow like the Banana Guard and Tele-viper I think that sort thing might have some merit I don't mind them going a bit left field with the Techno-Viper too as I think he'd fit in just fine with the PP too. I guess if one wanted to be a bit silly about it then there is perhaps the idea of a Python Patrol Snow Serpent to consider... if only so there is something to go with Tiger Force when used as a snow theme... You know what though perhaps they should throw that idea out entirely and make a "Snow Tiger" them (Like the Transformers Character Tigertron is) instead of yellow for Frostbite. This Black new version is likely going to be much more difficult to get cheaply for a long time so for practical reason I may have to treat the Black costume one as the Officer just because of the scarcity of him at least until supplies improve and cost lower anyway. I think the Black one would look somewhat better with the 2nd generation PP deco of Black and Magenta though and likely therefore better with Vypra too who shares that colour scheme herself. I wonder if they might do some name Characters.. The Amazon Exclusive Storm Shadow Mould might make quite the interesting Python Patrol design especially if they revisit the abandoned idea of the Jungle Ninja they didn't do from the Red Ninja Mould. That might be useful for later on to excuse them doing a Super 7 style TF Scarlet and Snake Eyes for Classified too.

does anybody know the difference between the trooper and the viper? is the viper just the trooper during a mission and they're just deployed to protect bases as a trooper or are they a different specialization, like troopers defend bases and vipers attack cities, etc. kind of like in the star wars universe you have navy troopers that protect installations and elite stormtroopers that assault rebel positions .
Really wish they had made the red balaclava head white skinned. Don’t like the Mortal Kombat looking breather masks. Not trying to sound racist but I just want it to be the same paint scheme as the original O-ring figures. If they are going to include both white and dark skinned heads then they need to give you all options for both.
if they had done this figure with these accessories but kept the cobra blue instead of python patrol I think they would have sold tons of these considering how many missed out on the island version. I'm not really interested in python patrol. For me they where vehicle figures and with no vehicles I'm not really interested.

Swapped hands arm pads and boots with blue uniform officer and added red cloth mask head. Looks really good python is now in all black
