  • A series of short videos to show you how a scratch builder made his own set of nose ribs for a Zenith 701. The tips given in this video can be used to make any rib. If you make any aircraft part you are the person responsible for its integrity. These ribs are not stock Zenith 701 Nose Ribs and use of them is not recommended by Zenith Aircraft. I will not be liable for anyone's use of this video

I am rebuilding my wings which have vortex generators with slats removed and was wondering what changes to the handling resulted from the new profile?

Rob, the aircraft I installed this on has just finished its 40 hour test phase. It's hard to compare it to a stock 701 because of the other changes that were made to the aircraft like a true symmetrical horizontal tail and a longer wing. I will tell you that it flys nothing like a stock 701. 88-90 cruise at 75% even with the longer wing. The plane does not break in a stall. The fuselage makes some noise around 32, the nose stays up and the plane goes into a 650 fpm decent rate. You can chop the power on base and never touch it again all the way to the ground which a was told you don't want to do with the stock 701. The plane floats really well and settles in nicely. I really enjoy flying it.
