I asked Siam Legal to process my application on the strength of this video. I emailed documents. They asked for more documents on the same day which I sent right away but since then (8 weeks ago) I've heard nothing from Siam Legal. When I tried to speak to the person responsible for dealing with my application (4 phone calls) , they were at lunch, then in a meeting, then unavailable, then on a public holiday, then on leave. When I said it's been 8 weeks to the receptionist, she said, "Oh, they're probably busy". I feel Siam Legal should set some expectations up front. Also, I feel Siam Legal could do more with Customer Engagement. The jury is still out.

I spoke to Siam Legal, but realized how simple it was to do it myself. I applied and got my LTR pensioner visa approved in four weeks. I used these guys for an international adoption many years ago. They did little to progress my case and the Thai adoption “authority” asked me to stop using them. Not such a great track record.

@@Mark-yo5ue Hey Mark, I got my LTR visa approved through a consulate in the US. Since I'm not in thailand, do you have any idea what happens when I get to thailand, do they put the visa in my passport? I do I just travel in and out as I please knowing that I'm in their computer system? Thanks!

If you got the visa approval letter issued by the Thai consulate (after your BOI approval for the LTR), then you simply take that letter with you when traveling to Thailand.
Upon presenting the visa letter on arrival in Thailand, the immigration officer at the airport stamped my passport and dated the visa to expire at the earlier of 5 years or my passport expiry. My passport expires in 3 years, so visa expiry for me is same as passport expiry. The immigration officer told me, once I get a new passport in 3 years, I take my passport to any immigration office to get a new visa stamp for the remaining 2 years.
It is my understanding that after the first 5 year period of the pensioner LTR period, you need to submit income documents again to determine if you continue to qualify for the second 5 year period of the 10 year LTR period. Good luck. It’s a great visa with absolute minimal interaction with immigration going forward. I’m extremely happy I qualified and got this visa!

@@Mark-yo5ue Awesome thanks. I have 4 years left on my passport so about the same situation as you. Sounds easy enough!

The LTR does NOT appear to be renewable. That is to say, once your 10 years are up. That's it. Please comment on this. If someone wants to live the rest of their lives in Thailand, what do they do when this non-renewable 5+5 year visa expires? Please talk to us about what that process looks like to renew for the second five year term.

@@rdefacendis Not 100% sure what will happen in 10 years time (the visa rules could change), but when the 10 year LTR period expires, I believe you need to go through the application process again and assuming you meet the qualifications, another 10 year LTR would be issued. You can always ask this question of the BOI through their website to be sure. They have a mechanism on their website to submit a question. Always best to go to the source rather than rely on TH-cam advice 👍🏻

Good morning kabirulalo908 , Unfortunately, as it currently stands people working for non-profit organizations such as the UN or government entities are not eligible for the LTR Visa under the "Work-from-Thailand Professionals" category.
