I'd love to see an extremely creature-light set. Magic has been creature based for a long time now, and while it's a lot of fun, something else would be interesting to see how they balance. Like maybe the common slot has no creatures in a set or something.
That half a box got me like hmmmm, maybe I should buy this?

I love seeing any new mechanics with cards! Maybe we could see some sort of new tribal card that takes advantage of a new ability! Bring something new and fun to the table for EDH and standard alike! Making my first focus deck in commander was Ninjas! I loved the unique strategy that they offered and how no one else was running it in my area! So print a new tribal, with a tribal specific abilities so that I can play something new and exciting!
I'd love to see the "Modular" mechanic come back, it was interesting and definitely has potential if we are given another artifact heavy set.

I may not comment much on the videos if at all. Even with all the stuff about possibly winning stuff. I mainly watch on my PS4 while I chill on my bed and organize cards. But a soon as you said something about a returning mechanic? I'd love to see snow mechanics back. As simple as it maybe it just really seems like a fun thing to play out. Like with Modern Horizons, I made a snow deck out of cards in there and man was it fun to play! So if there is anything I'd like to see come back is snow. Will it ever come to standard? Who knows.
I agree. I would recommend a new player starts on a deck like burn. Spend the majority of the time focused on what your opponent is doing and learn that way
I got a Theros Beyond Death booster box today (I got it as a gift from my grandparents since it is my 18th birthday today🎉), and I pulled Uro, Elspeth, Klothys, Purphoros, Kiora Bests the Sea God, Shadowspeare, Underworld Breach, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove, all of the dual land rares, and Idyllic Tutor.

Renowned: Untapped target X non-land permanents control you may cast a spell for X less. Or do X. Create X tokens.
I want to see Bushido be brought back. I love the Samurai Bushido mechanic. That and Flanking were amazing. They were better than the old Rampage mechanic, which is something that was hard to pull off back in the old days.

As a primarily commander player, I've gotta say I like cards you can have in game conversations around. Cards that make each player draw, or cards like Scheming Symmetry are really cool for this sort of thing. Also, maybe an exquisite bond type effect to go with sanguine bond that isn't a 5 mana enchantment?
I picked one up for the heck of it. I got amazingly lucky! Four high priced mythics out of my packs. Pretty much paid for the box just in those.
(Exp) Mountainfall: Deal one damage to target creature. Islandfall: put a 0/1 cloud token with flying and defender.
Got one of these the other day and pulled a Liliana, Dreadhorde General non-foil, then right behind it was the foil version from the War of the Spark packs. The rest were not too good, but this more than made up for it.
So to answer your question, there was a cycle of 1 mana auras that had an activated ability of 1: return [cardname] to your hand.
I think it would be cool to get that mechanic again in a cycle, especially with nu-theros.
Also, flickering ward, whip silk, and shimmering wings are some of the best secret tech for my tuvasa enchantress deck.
My first deck was an esper spirits deck kitbashed from the Ixalan deckbuilder and a duel deck.

Even though it's recent, I hope the adventure mechanic returns in a future set. My favorite part of eldraine and I think it adds cool conditional value to cards. I'd welcome more adventure cards to be printed.
Got one of these a few months back... Pulled an Oko, Thief of Crowns without realizing how good it was at the time.
Mostly an EDH player, but I really like the cards with multiplayer mechanics that I know suck in standard. In Commander legends, I'm hoping to see a return of the vote, join forces, and "tempt with" card mechanics we have seen from past sets.
More broadly, although also probably not likely to be printed into standard: monarch was a cool mechanic that I liked building into some fun flavor decks. I have a kenrith the returned king monarch deck for example.

I would like to see a 1/1 legendary human rogue with a mechanic called assassinate. Basically it would make the creature unblockable, but when it deals damage to a player, it gives that player a hit counter. And when that player has 5 or more hit counters, you exile the creature and return it to the battlefield transformed under your control. The transformed creature then is always a 6/6 with menace and indestructible. Whenever this creature becomes transformed, destroy all creatures target opponent with 5 or more hit counters that player controls.
I think they should come out with some sort of mechanic that benefits a player when they have a spell they cast countered. Something like "when an opponent counters a spell/effect you control draw a card". Or it could put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.Or what would be interesting is when a spell is countered you may play a spell with mana cost less than the mana cost of the spell countered.
Something that will make it so that a deck that runs control may have to be mindful of how they counter things instead of just spamming counter spells. Nothing worse than not being able to play magic at all.
My card would be: "mirror stomp" (like Mirror March)enchantment, casting cost 3 red, with overload ability. When you cast a creature, Flip a coin, create a token of a creature you control until you loose a flip, sacrifice at beginning of end step. overload ability: pay the cc for an additional coin. Exile mirror stomp if overload ability is cast.
I wanna see cards that are related to legendary creatures such as Chandra and Chandras Phoenix but for Creatures including uncommon legendaries. Maybe for Siona (Uncommon Selesnya from TBD) she could have a spell that looks at the top 4 cards of your library and you can reveal an aura then put it into your hand or return a Aura card from your graveyard
Not sure if its out there or not, but maybe a Stamina steal ability. Creatures that attack and are blocked will take 1 toughness from the blocking creature and add a +1 to their toughness.

It is a pretty good deal. I even got good pulls from the boosters that came from it to boot. One being a Chandra, Awakened Inferno. Sadly non-foil or I could have sold it and bought a collector booster to top off my birthday propper.
I'd love to see the combine mechanic out of unstable make its way into regular play. So much fun. That or the contraptions. Unstable was just a blast.

Do you know those really old cards like lifelink for 1 mana where it just gave a targeted creature lifelink? I think that would be cool if they had it for the standard first strike, trample, deathtouch, etc. as well, but it was standard legal. It would do a ton of work in limited.
An artifact for 6 with tap this pay 3 neutral and this artifact becomes a copy of an artifact in any graveyard and if it’s an equipment attach it to target creature

It's an ability that says : Pay 3 (one colorless and two colored mana), discard this card : Search your library for a card with the same converted mana cost as that card, reveal it and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. Play only as a sorcery.
It would be so powerful if it was on creatures cards ! If it appears on various cards then we can build insanely powerful combo decks in brawl and it will deeply change the format

Hold up. You said the easiest way to learn magic was to build a deck in either red or green.
My very first deck was Gruul. Around the time of DKA/AVR - RTR/GTC flashbacked increasing savagery on Gravetiller worm after its morbid ability triggered. Got to swing in with 18 pts of trample damage. Then, used fling. I'll never forget that first win haha.
Ide love to see a new color come in. Yellow maybe? Consists of lighting elementals cloud giants and engineers. Mainly loves to play off your exile. Getting buffs or simply pulling from exile to overwhelm the opponent

I started with b/w orzovh guild deck and I got no complains about if you play against same level decks. Not against modern constructed, obviusly.
A card where when a card goes into a grave yard a creature of choice gets +1 +1 and a creature an opponent controls needs to block it/ fight it like the rabid bite card
I wish they would bring back the madness mechanic, bought the commander precons to come back in the game after a long pause (but overall still my first time in commander) and got the Anje one so would be really cool to see some more cards get printed to support her.
Anje was printed to support the madness mechanic lol. As cool as some reprints and new cards would be, commander products seem to be the outlets for said supporting cards
I Think an instant Card With Madness and Flashback or an enchantment with Threshhold and Accend would make for an interesting Card in the Mythic Slot of an upcoming set. 😁
And just to let you know, I think that you are one of the few TH-cam's that are actually worth watching. I've watched Arena on TH-cam and some of those broadcasters are idiots and I don't watch that anymore but I like to watch you and also alpha investments so thank you for the videos you make. I used to buy these all the time when I wasn't able to spend a lot of money on magic cards, if you're just looking for value or you're buying a booster box you definitely don't want to buy these. However if you're one of those ppl who just buys a pack or two at wal-mart occasionally this is actually a good buy in my opinion because you'll get a lot of different stuff, plus many of them come with unique rares like Aggressive Mammoth
A cool card print would be a cyborg that was 4/7 so it can defend really well and even the attack ain’t bad.
With all the enchantments that came from Theros Beyond Death I think they should make a cycle of enchantment lands. I want to see Boggles be a thing in standard.
A dragon with all of soulflayer's abilities and the ability of rekindled Phoenix return from the graveyard to the battlefield effects for say a 5 drop comes in with haste

When I bought the toolkit which was about two or three wks ago, every rare that you pulled was over three dollars and I believe those five rares actually made the kit worth it and then I got a Cavalier of thorns in the eldraine booster pack and a dryad of the ilysian grove in the theros booster pack do that took it way over the top and I bought another one the next day..
How about some tri-lands without any negative affect to beat out og duel lands.
A neat mechanic would be secret casting. You pay the mana, cast the card face down and can look at it at anytime.
A creature for this could be Tremors- once you attack with it, reveal it to the opponent.. like it dug underground and popped out right in front of them with no knowledge of it

Hmm a new card mechanic maybe we could call it (pandemonium) the player that activates it chooses which players get to take a draw step from which deck. This would good both for normal formats where u might know the top card of an opponent’s deck is a good card and u can just choose to take a draw step from their deck. In commander u can choose who u draw from as well as who other players draw from. We could use this as a mill strategy as well. I’d say as a cost to not make it to op would be exile two cards from your deck or graveyard. So to design a card I’d say behemoth of chaos with the (pandemonium) mechanic 5,5 with cost of two green and two blue and two colorless and u can use the pandemonium mechanic again? Hopefully this idea might be good enough to win the pack lol

I kinda want to see a new set of lands that are single color but have an enter the battlefield with an ability of a different color. It would have two land types.

With Theros having such an impact to the exile I think it's likely we'll see something like undergrowth for exile; and I'd certainly not complain about that

When battle for zendikar was in the works there there were rumors of a new color being introduced now as it turned out it ended up just being colorless but I think if anybody could do it magic could definitely figure out how to work in a new color altogether. I'd love to see a mechanic called, "recruit" where something triggers the creatures ability, whether it ETB, or attacks, or dies, but you search your library for a creature with converted mana cost 1 less that this card.
