You don't need to see the TV as a grid. You just need to count the number when the lights fluctuates or Dims Out! Here, that Mathematics doesn't apply because zones are not uniform all across the screen! The 4th corner zone of the horizontal row will stand as a zero zone for the vertical row. This dimming calculation, too, gives just a rough idea of the zones present, it is not 100% accurate because zones are not consistent across the screen. They vary in number. If there are 7 zones on the right side it is not necessary that there will be 7 on the left edge too. There can be 6, 5 or just 4 dimming zones on the other edge. Even the top horizontal row zones can be different from the lower horizontal edge of the TV! This is the reason we don't calculate dimming zones like blocks! This test is known as the DIMMING zone test because only the zones that exhibit dimming are taken into consideration! Here, you are not counting some blocks that are spread in a uniform manner so that you will apply the square or cube formula. The zones are distributed haphazardly on the screen. You will count only that zone that exhibits dimming.

Please read my edited comment for more clarity. This is the best test that gives you an idea of the number of zones present on the TV.

You have shown comparison with Sony, VU etc great, none of your subscribers or new viewers have any doubt on your reviews of electronics items, there are several people so called technical reviewer who gave falls or non satisfying reviews, I am not saying all are same, leave them you are doing good job, such more reviewer in future will also point out figure towards you and your channel, I don't think that will need to care or bother you. vertically u counted 7 dimming zone but first one u missed up at 07:38 when white dot is at corner, so 4 horizontal and 8 vertical 8 × 4 = 32 ... but blooming is clearly visible... great detailed review...🙏🏻
Pratik please go through the comment pinned under this video. I have explained everything over there and not once but I have seen the blinking light umpteen times through my naked eyes too. It is strictly only as I have shown during the counting.

I have a suggestion which will definitely increase your channel viewership. Whatever product you review be it a tv or a soundbar please also give alternative choices.Eg. if somebody finds sony tvs or soundbars too expensive you could suggest equally good alternatives like maybe samsung or yamaha where the customer would save a substantial amount of money by buying an equally good product if not better. Hope you keep this in mind in your future reviews. Please also review the Sony soundbar s40r.

I recently bought X80AJ and X80J Sony TV and during the process I watched multiple online videos. I think that you are the best TV reviewer in India and I really appreciate your technical know how - specifically around brightness, hdr, blooming etc. The channel which you are criticizing is over confident and looks pure marketing based. The facts shared at other channel are also incorrect. For instance, x80j was mentioned to have great dolby vision content. It is incorrect - dolby vision needs high brightness atleast 600 nits to be really enjoyable. You called out this fact while reviewing x85j and rightly mentioned that brightness in x85J is really good. IMO x85J/x85K is definitely the TV one should buy for watching dolby vision content and not x80j. I want to upgrade this year x85K but seems like 65 inch is unavailable. In your opinion, which TV you think I should upgrade to for great HDR viewing at 65 inch - which is also value for money. I know OLED have best picture quality and no blooming issues - but I have heard brightness is a concern. So overall, do you think I should wait for x85K or you think x90k is good enough. Please also review x90k vs A80K in case you get those TV. Again best of luck for authentic reviews on TV.

Since long I have been following both reviewers (& others) for things I would buy and also for general information. Being a Tech Savvy person myself, Gadgets fascinates me. We all should appreciate the "unbiased" reviewers who spend time & effort to buy products (even if it's their earning source) and share their viewpoint. Difference of opinion can crop up given no two products being reviewed can exactly be the same and that method/ calibration of apparatus can vary. However, I agree that major and visible issues cannot be missed and should be shared for greater good. Knowing other side of the coin is no harm with a professional/ technical debate and a prolonged argument is not desirable. Afterall, we are not expecting TV engineers/ technicians on the other side of the screen.
I bought a recent budget TV reviewed as excellent by one but had to return within the timeline, which led me thinking if some practical issues needs to be analysed as well.
1. This motion control is a blessing or curse? While it is wonderful during sports, reality shows etc., it needs to be turned off everytime, so you see scenes meant to be presented as is. 4 taps in remote everytime you need to swap and still you'll miss your good old tv. Irritating.
2. The Dead/Static pixel in TV. It was there in mine as well as 6 others who bought the same (per portal review). Suggest to also check the actual buyers feedbacks & important to inform users what to check in a specific TV just after buying.
3. The lags in Android/Google TV that sets in right after 5-7 days. How do the TV compares with peers for handling OS with same hardware specs?
4. How is the display comparatively suited to eyes? A good picture setting in daytime is impossible to see in a dark ambiance. Is the TV better calibrated to change picture settings automatically?

It is necessary for a buyer to know the Cons of the product he is buying. All youtubers should follow this guideline.
If they follow this guideline none of the companies will give them a review unit or fees. Most of the companies ask reviewers to submit the video to them before releasing and only after they pass it, the video can be released. They have to remain in the company's good books, if they want to earn! This is the reason why I mostly purchase products for review.

My cousin recently bought this T.V and i immediately noticed Foggy layer on watching side angle also there was indeed blooming i was able to notice right away. I have 55'' tv VU 4K Premium, bought back in 2019. I had bought the tv on your recommendation and has loved it since. U may not remember but i have been constantly in contact with u, u also did helped me regarding my tv servicing. Your reviews are very genuine and u r the only youtuber i really trust alot.
Now regarding tv
My T.V has matt layer which helps in cutting down reflection and when i saw that T.V of my cousin, i was in Aww for a minute because it has glass layer without any Matt coating which results in very sharp texture even though both tv are 4K. But with matt layer there is always this issue of less sharpness compared to mirror finish screens. But after playing several samples i felt disappointed, i was able to judge foggy effect and blooming right away, since my cousin was blabbering about its qled tech, i was really focusing on brightness and i found it to be Pseudo qled as well. Irony is my cousin thinks that VU tv are made in Hisense tv factory and is being rebranded as VU but the fact its Toshiba who r Literally the same brand 😬😆...
VM One channel was recommending Vu QLED from long and now in his latest video he said it is not good. What double standards are this??

I dont know why but there is calculation mistake in dimming zones as corner zone shall be count for both horizontal and vertical.
for eg. Rubics cube of 3x3(3 in horizontal & 3 in vertical) have 9 boxes on each face(not 3x2).
similarly, 4x8 will be 32 dimming zones.
i recently bought m550mp toshiba !! blooming is there on bright and cricket mode only dynamic and natural mode mei there is no issue... other then that there is no issue .. and picture quality is very very good ...

Vijay, there is a comment pinned under this video where I have explained the procedure of counting dimming zones, please go through it. The dimming zones on a TV are not uniform, they are haphazardly distributed. We need to count only the zone that blinks and we cannot count any dimming zone twice. Maths comes into play where there is uniformity, like counting blocks on a cube! We cannot apply any mathematical formula where there is no uniformity at all! Even this zone count is not accurate. It just gives us a vague idea of the zones on a TV.

Can you suggest a 50/55" TV below 50k which doesn't show light patches (May be/May not be back light bleed) on a black screen, when seen from different angle.
Only TVs that I've had which fit the criteria was my old Philips 40" and Onida 42" TV(recently damaged)
I've tried VU Premium 55", Motorola ZX Pro 55", Revou Q 55" (my current TV) All these TVs show light patches at 2 or 3 locations when the screen is fully black.
I am confused to buy between toshiba M550LP or toshiba M550MP.

Vineet has lost all my respect !! I came and discovered this channel after purchasing this useless tv and zebronics 9750 pro soundbar. He mentioned both these products as best in line and in truth both products seem very inferior quality. Zebronics soundbar also disconnects frequently and many people have reported this issue

Now there is no doubt you explained everything nicely. Vm one channel is not reliable.
Correction, it is 32 dimming zones. 8 rows and 4 columns.
But i agree, he is a salesman and not a reviewer. He keeps on bragging about not doing sponsored videos and all. But what people need to think is - His main earning is from affiliate commissions on sale. So, obviously he will try to sell as many models as possible.
And he does that for all the videos.
For soundbars, this guy praises soo many of zebronics soundbars over sony and jbl ones. I have personally went and listened to the models in croma when i was looking for one. Believe me, these Chinese shit products from zebronics can't even match 10% of what sony and jbl soundbars output, in terms of clarity, quality, richness, loudness, built quality etc.
This guy picks online bestseller products from each category and makes a positive videos on it, as those products usually sell very well anyways, but him making positive review makes a prospective buyer be more confident and buy that product, for which he will now get commission. That's his strategy.
For example - For Mi and redmi tv, initially made lots of click bait videos of REAL TRUTH and all, making majority people worry that something is wrong with mi tvs, but because mi tvs are the bestseller in tvs online. He almost everytime recommends Mi tv. Coz most prospective buyers of tv have that tv in their wishlist/cart anyways, so a positive review from him makes them believe that their decision is good. That the real game.
What you have said is 100% right. Only an educated and knowledgeable person like you can see through the strategy of his reviews. There is just one request, please go through the comment pinned under this video, it will give you a clarity on why I have said that there are 28 dimming zones.

Toshiba ka TV kaisa bhi ho after sales service pathetic hai, 1.5 months waiting ke baad replacement diya who bhi kharab panel wala, ab phir se complain kiya hu abhi tak sirf technician visit hua hai, uske bad ka koi bhi procedure start nahi hua, mere paise pure barbad ho gaye.
How can anybody display his family picture in such circumstances when charges have been leveled against him. Definitely VM One is a very good salesman. He is eyeing the upcoming sales for affiliates.

You are right Madam, he provided so many wrong about Sony KD X74K and X75K, told in reviews that both have IPS Panel, but called Sony India, they told me that they do not have any information regarding Panel ,more over in Sony India website nothing is mentioned about Panel in specification.

Not only on Shinco TV, HDR is a gimmickry on all budget TVs. Shinco TV, which I reviewed is better than many budget TVs out there! And then, also, see to its price! When the price is less, absence of many high-end features are excusable! This TV is coming at 55k, at least it was when I purchased it, and, see to the multiple problems that it comes with! I praised the Toshiba 350LP TV despite its HDR also being a marketing gimmickry because according to its price its performance was excellent.

Yes definitely it is a much better choice but if you can wait till next week my videos will give you a better understanding of all TVs.
The problem is that we Indians tend to believe anybody who is adept in flattery and sugarcoated talks and Vineet Malhotra is perfect in that. We should rather look for knowledge when it comes to a tech reviewer. There are very few channels that can be trusted.
