Hey im knew to the Channel found it a couple of day's ago 👍 great videos and you have a great family and Miranda is one tuff little mama to put up with all of yous 😂 and popular is good wood it burns good also and it makes good lumber also you did a good job on the wall 👍 from Northern Ontario🇨🇦
I don't know. From where I'm looking you look like a pretty good woodworker to me! From this wall project to your remote cabin and all of those out buildings up there, you know what you're doing and then some! We always enjoy watching whatever you guys are working on. So nice to see your whole family work together to get things done! Keep up the great work!!
Yes it is, when I built my first sawmill I ran a cottonwood tree through it first I couldn’t believe how much character it had thats what I use for all of our European moose plaques now. I wasn’t sure how the poplar would turn out I thought it would be a little greener on the edges. I will be milling lots more this winter
That’s why I’m using it I had a lot on the property. This was a test run to see if I liked it which I do. So I will mill a lot more this winter I plan on using it for the ceiling in our new house
I’ll have to look into that. I was thinking about putting log sheen I think it is called it’s what I put on my cabin interior logs it’s a satin clear finish to keep dust/dirt out
@@diyalaskanlifestyle I used a similar product on the log walls of my cabin, clear coating made by Sashco called Symphony that is intended for indoor use. Works great and is available in 5 gallon buckets. Not the cheapest, but good quality
@@matts.6558 yep sounds like what I used, sadly in the move to the new property it got left in the connex for the winter ruined 2-3 gal of it so need to by another 5er
@@diyalaskanlifestyle ah bummer, but it happens. You’ve been busy and life can get a little unorganized going through such a major build project with things scattered, so not a big deal 👍
It's an awesome project. I saw you have lots of saws and different tools on you channel and I'm wondering are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts and chains for chainsaws and maybe we would work together to help more DIYers in the community. I shot an e.mai.l to you.
The shop is looking great! Look forward to seeing the rest of the build.
Look real good nice job 👍
I think the boss was wanting some treats 😊

I guess what I meant was I’m not much into finishing or cabinetry style of work that’s why I go for the “rustic style”
@@diyalaskanlifestyle well, you still do a great job!
Never really thought of useing poplar for anything. But that looks great.
Great to see you guys again! The wall looks fantastic.
wouldn't change a thing. Looks great!
Best possible use for that " undesirable " wood! The wall is gorgeous!

Love it! Have a great week! (Kansas)
That poplar shiplap looks awesome! Well done. Making me rethink that wood species, I have a ton of it around my cabin and decent size too

@@diyalaskanlifestyle the whole place will look great inside with the ceiling done in poplar as well
The wood panels looks so beautiful even you installed to the wall , great job 👍
Good stuff 👍
I bing watch your videos, you sir are a international man of mystery 😂
What beautiful wood!
Chicago makes great plumbing valves . They even have fixed shower head like the ones in jails
Looks good
very nice work!
Nice looking grain in that wood. I would put it my cabin anytime
Looks good brother.
Thanks
That looks awesome
Thank you
😎👍👍
I’m in Wisconsin 75% of what I burn for fire wood is popular or Aspen . What ever you want to call it burns clean with very little ash.
Ya I burn a lot of it here also but the kind we have here produces a lot more ash then spruce or birch which is what we prefer to burn
Australian Timber Oil, comes in Blond,Clear an brown. It’s pricey but… Smokey Mountain Outpost has had good luck with it.
