The final culmination part of the LP is here! Even tho Mr Dark's Dare in Candy Chateau is a pretty challenging final level, it's still a pretty short buildup to the final boss fight with Mr Dark. The first phase is practically piss easy hence the frying pan surf premise on top of the ice cream platforms plus the ice slip physics basically do part of the work for the player and the only thing left to do is just jump at precise points at the correct times, otherwise it's momentum rebuild damage control from that point forward unless you sacrifice one life of course. I personally found Dark Rayman to be a cool concept in itself, especially with the fact that it's literally the Rayman sprite model with recoloured textures to fit the premise, despite the chase predicament with duplicate moves plus the one touch death penalty. The platforming in the second phase alone was already a challenge in itself and putting Dark Rayman in the mix took it to the next level. The reversed left and right directional controls curse partially takes the piss, especially with the platforming itself already being challenging enough as it is with the present bombs and stuff, even tho you can get used to them, but then again it still doesn't help that the curse drops at such a critical point in the level tho. Altho the automatic running curse makes you have to jump at specific times, it's unironically not as challenging as the frying pan premise in the first phase and it only lasts for a short period of time anyway. Mr Dark practically holds the fist punch powerup hostage and makes Rayman go through a few jump puzzles per se at the start of the final boss fight, but that's pretty much it for the main antagonist since you just proceed to fight a mixture of previous boss fights to finish it off, which is pretty anticlimactic, but apart from that the entire level itself is still one action packed process to put yourself through. The entire game itself is always fun to play plus it was a great project for a 1995 release! I would agree that the level of challenge is comparable to the Castlevania games even tho they have their own element of challenge. This entire LP was fun to watch as it was interesting to see the game from your perspective with your approach towards its completion plus I anticipate yet even more entertainment for the future LP's of interest and in general! Best of luck with future projects! 😎
