Found this from djent compilations a long time ago and here we are we still listening to this the chorus is very unique that what this song catches me so LIT !
This is literally the perfect song. The clean singing is on point, screams are aggressive and grizzly, guitar work is brutal, but doesn't overwhelm the song. Also, all of the melodic progressions are absolutely beautiful. The Afterimage really brought something new to the table. I'm really digging the style of metal they're creating.
***** No chance. The Afterimage is good (very good, actually) but IMO ERRA is just more skilled. If you judge them by quality, sound, and groove, I would say they are about equal. ERRA is just more skilled. Please note the use of IMO.
@@parisite99 Same. Some bands I can do without the cleans and it's fine. This band felt good everywhere so I didn't get the need to drop them but I'm guessing they didn't enjoy it. We're very underrated imo
If your looking for something similar, the parallel droped the crazyest album of 2018 a couple weeks ago, give em a look, they are as close as it gets to this style
@@arfarfcore3320Try Sleeping Slaves of Fate or The Architect by Lucrecia. Both songs are amazing. Not quite as cool as The Seeking (Which if I had to pick would be my favourite song I have heard), but similar vibe and both of those are absolutely amazing and I've racked up so many plays on them both.
sarin royce :D i'm not saying one is better or worse, but, i'm saying this song is effin epic, and, i hope they continue with this musical style. Also, i think the vocalist does cleans and screams.. that is epic
This and The Unseen are by far my favorites... Absolutely beautiful instruments, powerfully evolving screams, and uniquely satisfying cleans. Please, keep this sound going.. I think I've listened to The Unseen about 50 times in the last few days.
I love the cleans it doesn't take away from the song at all they are executed perfectly its just people aren't used to hearing good cleans during songs of this genre
I've been listening to a LOT of Auras' songs and have seen The Afterimage related vids on the side. I just now clicked on one of the songs... Oh.. My God. Idk why I haven't clicked on it sooner D: It's so djenty but also really easy to follow (for me, idk about anyone else) and when I heard the singing come in, ...I think I melted a little bit. It's SUCH a good fit. LOVE IT!
hey havent listened to this in quite some time but was showing it to a producer I just did a song with and just want to say thanks everyone for all the nice words. I just read a few and am blown away! I am the original drummer of the band and recorded this version. I play piano and have begun releasing music as a solo artist in the past year if anyone is interested. I am a bit all over the place genre wise but draw a lot of influence from my time in the band. Math rock guitar is getting a lot of attention all of a sudden; my piano playing style is based off of math rock guitar, really the way alex used to play in this band. Thanks so much
i listen to this song everyday, fucking love this band with a passion!! holy damn my ears have never heard music so good, its gives me an eargasm everytime
Holly shit!! Everything parts in this song fits so perfectly. The technical aspect is flawless, and so is the vocals. When you came in Sherbrooke, i was the only one that knew the lyrics, and thats a shame. peolpe don't know what they're missing, you guys are awesome! Hope we'll share the stage again soon!
amazing band, amazing harsh and clean vocals, props to the graphic designer as well, that cover is astonishing, tell the graphic designer he has true talent and great perspective, in fact everyone who worked on this song/album/ep did an amzing job i dont know did what, obviously, but thats a mindblowing track
this is without a doubt one of the best songs in this genre i've ever heard, i've listened to it like 100 times lol i need more afterimage! lol the full length is gonna kill
After finding BOS, I’m so torn because this is so fucking good on a whole other level. Tbh I’m treating them as two entirely different bands. Talk about talent. Cmon guys, save some for the rest of us!!
i really hope your nrxt album is like this song. cleans fit so well i emjoy it whether um walking home drunk like right now or lifting serious weight in the gym. respecy from burlington
This version will always be my banger lol. I Love the revised version as well. My conflict however is that the vocals are better in the revised version and the instrumental/overall mix is better in this one. On top of this being nostalgic lol. The afterimage still slaps, so does brand of sacrifice, earth shatter and centuries apart
I was really hoping to see if u guys would make a music video for one of the songs, cause I bet u guys could pull off a good music video with any song u do :)
in your opinion maybe.. i personally love these cleans. its a nice contrast to the heaviness. and as for jesse cash from ERRA, hes got a range that most guys (and some girls) cant even fathom of hitting, and once again, it makes the music more progressive, adding contrast to their heavier riffs.
Years later and still unmatched. The magic of this song.. man, it’s something else.
Yup. Not sure anything will ever top it. Magnum opus
Found this from djent compilations a long time ago and here we are we still listening to this
the chorus is very unique that what this song catches me so LIT !
2018 and still one of the best modern metal songs ever made.
amen
I still think the same. The Unseen is some insane shit too
Agreed! Was playing it the other day on repeat 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Also: it's 2023 and my original statement still stands 😂
@@AshtonFitness It's 2024 and statement still stands.
It's 2024 and I still maintain what I said.
I always feels like finding an old box with amazing things from my childhood when stumbling across this song
11 years ago man...beautiful

Dat intro. Dat outro. Dat whole damn song!
So insanely unbelievably good. This is candy for the ears
I love this band! Some of the most creative freshest, ear candy riffs you can hear something in this kind of genre of music is lacking abit.
Check out Erra
Nick Palumbo as much as I love ERRA, the afterimage is still a bit better :p
Georg Kasper the afterimage blows erra away, and the sad thing is that they're such a young band. crazy talent from TheAfterimageCA
***** No chance. The Afterimage is good (very good, actually) but IMO ERRA is just more skilled. If you judge them by quality, sound, and groove, I would say they are about equal. ERRA is just more skilled.

Double chance
2022 and still one of the best modern metal songs ever made
Yup. This and The Unseen.
Fuckin right
@@trevorwhatever2050Would probably put Onyx just above Unseen maybe, the trio together were and still are the holy grail.
catchy cleans, great music. dont drop the cleans guys, they work.
Yeah seriously, the cleans fit so perfectly.
As if they needed you’re critique to know this...
Fast forward to today. While I liked them, they dropped the shit outta them cleans. 🤣
@@parisite99 Same. Some bands I can do without the cleans and it's fine. This band felt good everywhere so I didn't get the need to drop them but I'm guessing they didn't enjoy it. We're very underrated imo
There's something magical about this song. I love this mix compared to the one found on the album, also. Wish this band were still together 😭😭😭
If your looking for something similar, the parallel droped the crazyest album of 2018 a couple weeks ago, give em a look, they are as close as it gets to this style
These guys are brand of sacrifice now if you want to see what they are like now
Agreed. The mix on lumiere is garbage (sorry TA, I still love you guys) but this mix is spot on. No one has filled the hole they left
@@ranknonewarrior Thanks for the tip (sorry for the 2 year late response, haha) - Definitely similar!

dude. the way you guys played around with your squeels like that was amazing. never heard anything like that before. superb.
This song is perfection. You'll find nothing else close to its perfection this I swear.
The clean vocals combined with everything else makes this song godly. I want to hear more songs from this band featuring the clean vocalist
This awesome. I'm so glad that the vocalist and guitarist from centuries apart went on to do something else.
3:08 and so forth is just beautiful.
The guitarwork is so damn impressive. Catchy, technical, super melodic.
Thank you! Still proud of this one can't lie.

Catchyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
more some of this the afterimage !!! its been years want a chorus like this
something w/ a pause momentum of riffs
i didn't think any band besides erra could hit me like this. i hate myself for saying this but this is better than erra.
This song and two other songs they put out I would agree with, but not all of it in its entirety.
sarin royce Try on Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. You will shit bricks of chaotic love.
***** they are.. way different. (i'm not saying bad, but at a simple base, much more 'heavy')
I changed my mind, this is not better than erra. but godamn it came close.

This is just so groovy! I can hear the dgd or tfot influence with the guitars. I just can't get over how good this is
1:00 same lyrics in The unseen right?
Yeah, really clever use too.
You mean the The Unseen has the same lyrics as this? ;)

Then it's not a chorus.

they've gotten so much better.
Kyle was the vocalist of Centuries Apart, Alex was briefly involved with the project. This project is not related to that band, however.
I can't stop listening it!
those breakdowns could be so heavy if you distorted the shit out of the harmonics!
you guys planning on releasing full album or another ep? the jingle and chorus are more like the prologue of formless, which I really enjoyed :p
This song is pretty rad you guys, nice job hope to hear more from you in the future
