Timeless classics. In 1965 I was at a convalescent home in Woodhouse Eaves Leicestershire for six weeks and being Ten years old at the time it seemed more like six months, I was so homesick and upset it was almost unbearable but I remember seeing Thunderbirds on TV for the first time, it eased the pain and I was hooked from then on, so Thunderbirds has sad and happy memories for me.

"Thunderbirds Are Go" was broadcast in Japan on Sunday morning when I was a kid (a long time ago). I've been a big fan since then, and this wonderful show is remembered by so many Japanese who are already middle-aged. Music was also very popular. Even now, this music is often used in Japanese superhero dramas and excites young people who have never heard of Thunderbirds. Thunderbird plastic models were very popular with children and adults alike. When the new Thunderbird model was launched, a long line of children buying it was seen all over the country. So was I. I was crazy about TB2. This green and chubby aircraft was my biggest hero.

Thunderbirds stands the test of time even today: I find it fascinating what they could do with model aircraft and miniature sets in 1964. The only tricky part was filming the live--action close--ups to add continuity to the program.

Sad that the past generation(s) didn't play the way we did, using our imaginations instead of relying on video games.

Just straight-up natural disasters, technological errors, and other unforeseen, unplanned problems that don't require the involvement of some enemy.

They did a far better job with music mixing in that during the Thunderbird 2 crash sequence, It ramped up the suspense and made it a million times better, the video was called Countdown to Disaster. Oh and the bit where they say" changing frequencies to avoid jammers has so been added recently...not in the original.

I love how at 20:11 they lower the jacks to make way for the tracks and somehow the building remains floating in the air.

I even got to meet Alan's original voice actor in person in 2017 and got one of my old books personally autographed by him.

You know, according to the characters backstory, Scott was actually a decorated Air Force pilot before he IR came about. In that context it actually makes sense that he is essentially quarterbacking Virgil during the missile attack and telling him exactly what to do to try and evade the incoming attacks.

My dad watched this when he was younger and he would play it for my siblings and I. The other 4 brothers/sisters don't seem to care for it, but these are so well done and the stories are actually good and interesting.

@ 36, I first saw TB when 12-15. Been a fan since first watching. The attention to detail and superb special effects, one of my favorite things is when the show goes into real time and plays out with much effect building tension and you feel the pressure as the timer counts down to FUBAR. lol fcking love it! The use of real hands when able is such a subtle and funny effect. Just adds to the realism and magic that these show's story lines present.

Another instance where a tv show " predicted " the future: this week (the end of October 2020) Chinese engineers moved a 5 story building 200 yards by adding robotic legs to the foundation so that the building was " walked " to its new location. The building in question was at one time a primary school, though the pictures shown on BBC-NEWS made it look like a smaller version of the Macy's New York department store.

I like how everything takes time ! The new show doesn't have that sort of realism. 24 hours before arriving on the scene ! Shows that these people aren't super human and aren't always there. Operation Crash dive had a whole plane crash with 600 people dead.
A scary and yet realistic that things can happen to fast even for IR

The thing which all the remakes, films and TV, don't get is that it isn't about relating to the people: it's about the machines, it's all about the machines.
