  • First milling cuts with the 880. 32" diameter oak. Sorry about the poor audio. Currently editing all my videos using iMovie on my iPhone. Im in desperate need of a proper computer and editing software.
    Nikon D3400 should help my video quality pretty soon as well!!!!

    It's an awsome saw. First 2-3 cuts I had to go easy cause it would bog down but I think she was starting to break in already cause we could push the saw and go faster through the widest part of the log. The stainless steel muffler is all blue now. Milling is definately a workout

    Nice lookin wood! I need a trailer like yours! I do use a MS660 on my 36" mill, and it works just fine for the top slab on a log like that. Then I switch to my 090 on a 72" mill for the wider sections thru the middle of the log. Your buddy really knows how to help pull the mill. He must have experience. I wound up installing small winches on my Mills so I can do all the pulling without straining my back.

    009to090 that's a good idea. Smaller lighter saw so you can make that first cut more accurately then switching to the big saw for the rest. I might have to try that out. I only have one MKIII mill however. I do have the small log mill and mini mill too

    You pulled some beautiful boards out of that!!! Are you planning on selling it or just using it for yourself? I'm really enjoying your channel!!😊

    009to090 Yeah his name is curtis. Has the exact same amount of milling experience i do haha. He understands that a very steady even pressure along with keeping the mill square on the log is important for smooth boards. I have more footage going to be posted today of us getting farther down into the log

    I can't tell for sure in the audio, but may you need a carb adjustment?
    Beautiful grain in that wood!
    Cool video!
    Couple of questions....
    What chain are you using? Are you milling for personal use, or will you be selling the slabs? Are you filming with your iPhone? If so, how is it mounted to your helmet?
    Thanks Kyler, great video!

      yeah i may need to lean out the H side a bit, runs right at 10,000 RPMs no load and middle of the milling cut 7800 RPMs.
      Using a Stihl 46RMF chain, semi chisel skip chain.filed granberg style
      Milling to sell the slabs to sell and probably keep some for personal use.
      Filming with a GoPro Hero3+ Black
      i think the Hero3+ is the best camera they ever made. i havent used any other model but it has the best quality ive ever seen out of a GoPro.
      im Editing all my videos using iMovie on my iPhone 6+, its a pain and im always having trouble with the audio after its been edited, quality drops.

      Ah... ok.
      I'm sure as that saw breaks in, it'll be a beast!
      I need a better camera set up, I film with my iPhone, edit on my laptop. Average video takes me about 4 hours to edit and upload. Slow computer, even slower internet!
      Thanks for answering my questions, take care!

      for a 15 minute video take me about an hour to edit and upload, my phone is pretty fast and i have good internet. its hard to edit on a little screen using headphones!! of course my video edits are extremely basic, i cant even annotate or put text in my videos yet.

    RPMs were right at 7800 in the cut. What do you guys think

      Kyler Monares some People say chainsaw 's have 2 speeds idle and fully open I belive it might be différent for mill ing and type of chain versus type of wood.(you are expériment ing on préciouswood) have you check spark plug color?why change something that works

    • @relyk90
      @relyk90  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luc Fournier it's running wide open, RPMsare that low under the full load of milling. Many are saying that 9k rpms in the cut is best

    • @relyk90
      @relyk90  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luc Fournier haven't pulled spark plug yet

      Luc Fournier pulled the plug and it's a dark tan maybe brown. Dealer ran it but they didn't turn a screw.
