    Dude..I really dont have words, but I will try anyway lol I have only had a few moments in my 35 years of life where a musician and composition impacted me in such a positive way as both a bass player and as a music lover. Like discovering magic is real or something of that exaggerated effect. So... Thank you

    What I love about your music is as well as the obvious mindblowing technique and general bass nerdiness, you choose such beautiful and deep chords and progressions in your writing which takes it out of the ordinary and into the realms of the spiritual and otherworldly. Reminds me somehow of the music of Steve Reich. Love it! 🖤

      That means so much and I really love Steve Reich. Tanks so much Ashley, it means a lot

    OK I don't know anything about playing any instrument but that's pretty friggin cool!

      Ha thanks! I take compliments more to heart when it's from a non musician anyway. Much appreciated!

    This is amazing. It's blowing my mind for multiple reasons. This is the kind of stuff I would write if I had your skill level. I need to practice more of course. That's the only way. And my favorite D&D character that I created when I was a teenager almost 30 years ago had a solo fight with a skeleton that almost killed him on his first adventure.
    I stumbled upon your video on basstheworld. What a crazy world. Subscribed for sure. I am sorry for the loss of your friend, snake.

      Thanks so much for the kind words and yes, practice will get you there, but specifically practicing stuff relevant what you're trying to accomplish! I know that might sound obvious but it's easy to lose sight of! Thanks for your condolences , he was awesome

      @@JohnFerraraMusic oh, sure! I saved this video so I can teach your piece to myself. It'll take time, but I will get there.

    Wow, John!
    This is absolutely incredible. Any chance you could take the time to break down your right hand technique on the intro?
    You sound exactly like yourself and nobody else.

    oh my god now you're playing the tremolo type thing that i've been trying to mess around with for almost a year 🤯 your compositions and subsequently flawless execution of them on your instrument blow me away just as much as jaco did when i first found out about him. this is seriously incredible

    • @JohnFerraraMusic
      @JohnFerraraMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That means so much thank you! And yea I've been having so much fun with that technique. It really helps you express faster rhythmic phrases with relatively little effort. But it is definitely hard to get even and fast! Thanks for listening!
